We stopped by Solano Junction on a whim last week for some lunch. Being that it was New Years Eve, we were not too surprised at the large number of people on the waitlist in front of us. Although they have a tablet at the entrance to add yourself to the waitlist, it isn't a Yelp waitlist so waitlisting yourself in advance is not possible. Despite the waitlist and limited seating both indoors and out, we only had about a 20min wait until they had a table for us. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, consisting of delicious chorizos, black beans, cheese, pico de gallo, all wrapped in a tortilla and topped with two eggs (I chose over medium because nothing is better than the runny egg yolk mixed in). It was pretty sizable, and absolutely delicious! The wife got the Grand Canyon Scramble, and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Service is friendly, albeit always in a hurry as they are quite busy. Amazing no frills breakfast place. I have been 3 times in 3 months and I have enjoyed myself every time. I am currently injured and they are very accommodating in finding me a good chair and also an extra chair to use. I always order the smoked salmon Benedict. It is fire! They gave me a burnt English muffin once and they quickly corrected it with no fuss. The mimosas are where it's at. You're able to get 3 out of their carafe and it's only $16. Good for a lightweight like myself. The lavender and the lychee are a must try. I like that they have an inside and outside seating area and I look forward to checking them out when it gets warmer. Just got the multigrain pancakes. I ordered them with blueberries, but the blueberries were ON TOP, not in the pancakes. (this option was alongside chocolate chips, etc, so I assumed they be in them.) They are WAY too thick-- I would never order these again. They are like 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick-- more like a piece of cake or bread. Too heavy--Yuck! If they can make the batter more light and fluffy like a regular pancake, they'd be great. Came here on a Sunday morning. Very happy that there was no wait! I sat outside and enjoyed the weather, but the traffic was a bit distracting. Too many drivers making poorly timed u-turns and honks to create a peaceful space, but that's not the restaurant's problem. I ordered the Wildcat Benedict- The english muffin was toasted a little too long so it was dried out. The bacon was crispy, which I enjoyed, but a little closer to burnt than I'd like. The eggs were poached well. They skimped on the hollandaise sauce, which was a darker yellow/orange color but not flavorful. More hollandaise would have helped with how dry the bacon and muffin were, but honestly I don't know if it's worth it because the sauce wasn't special. On a different review, someone also mentioned that the hollandaise was a strange color and the owners responded "we use paprika for the color and if it tastes good color should not be a problem." If the hollandaise was made with a rich organic egg yolk, maybe it would be closer to this deep color, but using paprika to darken the color feels like a cheat. Flavor could use a little more citrus too, to enhance the sauce. I'd consider going back to try a different dish, but I would not recommend the benedicts. read more

This place has many different names over the years but food is the same and we like it a lot here and have been going there for a few years now. Their mochas and latte are very good and on point, not over priced their breakfast items are well made. I've always ordered the Alameda which has always been my all time favorite and my wife likes their make your own combo. We tried to go there every couple of months when we are off on weekdays. We came here for lunch fairly late so there was ample seating. Since we had our dog, we decided to sit outside. The original spot we sat at was very shady and cold so when the other patrons left, we switched over to a sunnier table. The staff did not seem to mind us making the switch. A few friends and I (5 of us to be exact) saw the good reviews and decided that we would give this establishment a try. The reason I am giving this place a 1 star review is because of the way we treated from the moment we stepped into this place of business. We entered the building and was standing at the front for a good 3-5 minutes before we were even greeted. The place was not busy at all but certainly did have people dining inside and outside. After 2-3 times of walking pass us, someone finally came up to us and asked us how many were in our group. We stated 5 and she immediately told us they didn't have room in the restaurant to seat 5 people. My friends and I were all shocked because what restaurant doesn't have seating for 5 people?!? After seeing our faces and asking a few questions about tables we noticed were empty, she told us we could wait for a party of two that was dining to finish and she could sit us at that particular table and add a chair. We didn't want to wait and rush the people who were already sitting so we decided to sit at what appeared to be a bar area. As we sat, the staff were giving us strange looks and also were mumbling things, this was the third uncomfortable incident within 10 minutes of being in this place. Once we sat down we were not asked if we would like water or anything but eventually they did bring out a menu for each of us to look at. We sat another 5 minutes before one of my friends decided to ask one of the servers if we could at least have a cup of water. It was then that we decided as a collective that we were not going to spend our money in a place that would treat us so unfairly. This was my first and last time ever visiting this place. It's quite obvious they cater to a certain crowd but no worries they lost out on money and customers. On this rainy morning I ventured out for breakfast and decided to try this place. I only had a glass of water and "The Alameda". Think of this as a toasted French bread sandwich with ham, mushrooms, toasted garlic tomatoes with swiss cheese topped with two over easy eggs with hollandaise sauce. Truly a warm and hardy meal.
