Bangor (specifically downtown) was really missing a good cocktail place and a good place for dessert. Not only is Happy Endings good for both of these, it offers small plates as well. So, you can make a whole night of it. I came here with my sister for a girls night out a few months ago. I ordered a Pickle Martini on special. I weirdly make these all the time at home. Yes, they're a thing. I really like salty martinis, so this was right up my alley. It was so good, too! The pickle flavor was there, but wasn't overwhelming. I wish I could have another one right now. My sister ordered The Happy Ending and loved hers too. Their cocktails aren't exactly cheap, which I realize is a bit of a negative for Bangor folks (I grew up there). But, I really don't mind paying a bit more for a really well-made, craft cocktail. It's worth the price! They also have beer on draft and wine as other options. I'll definitely be back. read more

Just got a drink, but menu looks good so I'll be back another time. Slow day so almost empty, just the bartender at the front. She made a great drink, an interesting twist on one of my favorites, the old fashioned. It was an Aztec Chocolate Old Fashioned. Pretty good, and an interesting take on the classic. Desserts sound great, cheesecake is the specialty so keep tabs out for the flavors of the week. Small place, definitely will get it overcrowded quick at high season. For a bar that markets themselves as the "premiere martini bar of Bangor" they're actually terrible at making cocktails of any sort, let alone martinis. Also the service is horrendous. Make sure you have at least a half hour to sit and wait for someone to come take your order. read more

I really wanted to like this place. And I do like what they have to offer, as a place to go and chill, have pre-dinner drinks, or hang out into the evening for cocktails and desserts after dinner. The homemade desserts we had were very good and beautifully presented, too. The ambiance, however, is jarring and doesn't quite work. With large TV's behind the bar playing sports, the crowd sitting at the bar were of the louder variety. The paint on the walls is chipped. The windows are grimy. The decor is shoddy. The LED light strips wrapped around the posts weren't working, and were held on with visible tape. The hostess and bar-tender were nowhere in sight when we came in, and disappeared frequently. It took unusually long for our desserts to arrive, even though it should have taken only a few minutes to slice a cheesecake and torch the creme brulee. The menu offers cocktails with fanciful names, but also oddly heavy-on-the-cheese and hot-sauce game-day sounding appetizers, then elaborate classy-sounding desserts. The little placards on the wall make it seem we should be feeling like we are in the Mad Hatter's tea garden. Looking around, however, it feels nothing of the sort. I feel like I'm stuck in limbo between a man cave and a place for a bridal shower. The combo just doesn't quite work. Despite the weird feel of the place, I might still come here again if I'm in town, to try the cheesecake of the day or sample some of the cocktails. read more

I ordered a chocolate peanut butter cup cake in advance, and the friendly team surprised her with it when we arrived at the restaurant. The chocolate peanut butter cake was AMAZING! Our drinks were good. The service was dismal. Firstly, it was a Saturday night...and the place was at about half capacity. We ordered drinks, and it must have taken about 20 minutes for them to arrive; which was confusing as there were maybe 15 customers in the whole place, and our drinks were just mixes,no special brûlée's or smoke, etc was required to make them. Also weird: the waitress brought our tab BEFORE we even had drinks on the table. The waitress and the bartender seemed really aloof and almost pissed that they had to work. We ordered a second round of drinks, and the same scenario occurred: waited a little over 15 minutes for 2 drinks, watched the bartender sitting with a group of people on the dining floor for 10 minutes, and we were presented with the tab BEFORE we had drinks on the table. Also, the bartender appeared to be a bit drunk as she was loud and messy...We will not be returning to this place unless they improve their professionalism and serving etiquette. It's too bad, we really want to support local businesses, and we really wanted to like this place. It's a shame that we just felt like a bother to the staff. read more

This bar comes off as a nice, new establishment and I have been three times. They have very poor and very slow service to start off. The bartender stands behind the bar and ignores people while he uses his cell phone during work. When he finally gets to you, he isn't pleasant at all. The third time I went was simply because two of my friends had never been and wanted to try it out. The card I used to pay was double charged and double the money was taken from my bank account. When speaking to the manager, she was extremely unpleasant and it took over 5 days for me to be able to resolve this issue. They accused me of getting my information wrong and never apologized for what happened. I will not return to this bar and I warn others to check bank accounts after going! read more

We went in to support a local business. It was middle of the road for busy. We sat at the bar and waited ten minutes to have anyone talk to us. The owner was juggling bartending and waiting tables. The second bartender was more interested talking to the young girls at the end of the bar than getting us a drink. He finally camy over and acted put out we wanted a drink. While all this was going on there was a drunk guy getting in the way behind the bar. We later learned this was the owners husband. When we got a drink it was very good but not worth the poor service. We left and went to a bar next door. Complete opposite. They wanted us in their bar. There are too many other places to go for a drink to put up with terrible service read more
