This is hands down my favorite massage place - their deep tissue is UNMATCHED. However, I went last Thursday and had the best massage of my life - until I didn't. Everything was normal and great and I was in complete relaxation mode - then he sat me up, pushed my neck down and gave it a strong jolt. I felt a horrible sensation go through my neck to shoulder area and within a couple hours, my neck had completely seized up. It's been 4 days and I still can't move my neck and I'm in horrible pain. I'll still go back eventually - I love this place so much. But it was a good reminder to not get too sleepy and to pay attention. Writing a review because I've had great experiences here and was surprised to see some of the negative reviews! This is my go to spot for a great, affordable massage. They even upgraded the interior recently and it looks really nice. When you arrive you fill out a little form that asks what kind of pressure you like, and to specify any areas that you'd like to have extra attention or be avoided. Andy really delivered. Truly a better massage than I've had at more expensive places around LA and most treatments include hot stones as well. I will say that I like very firm pressure so this is the perfect massage for me but I brought a friend once who likes lighter pressure and it was a bit too rough for them. But if you like pressure this is your spot :) The music and ambiance is peaceful most of the time, though sometimes you can hear music and talking from the restaurant next door. Here's the thing, while its not a luxurious and boujee place, it definitely serves its purpose. If you're in need of a spontaneous last minute massage and can't book an appointment at your favorite place, then problem solved! They accommodate those kind of situations and of course take appointments quickly. Open until Late and affordable! They have the massage tables in one common room as seen in pics, so you need to feel comfortable. They try and keep it quiet and respectful, although you can hear some noise from neighboring businesses. Didn't bother me. The staff was experienced and the massage was good overall. You know going in that it's not anything high end and most times you get what you pay for - but it would have helped if they changed the name to Angry Elbow Spa. Everyone is very nice and I was asked if the pressure was ok, however, I'm not a fan of the "digging elbows into my body" as an ok way to massage. Sure you can use them once in a while but this was more like something that happens at a professional wrestling match (and the referee would come in and break it up). The foot massage part was much more enjoyable and did not include any elbows. There are plenty of similar places to choose from, so I'll simply try another next time. read more

I've been here 3 times and it's only been a guy massaging, but they really do a great job of pressure points. I read the other reviews and should have taken heed. I understand that you get what you pay for but, this place still falls below average. My massage was anything but relaxing, helpful of curative in anyway shape or form. My back felt like it was black and blue the next day! I had to take a Motrin to get to sleep. The gentleman that did my massage spent most of the time digging his elbow in my back. I marked that I wanted medium pressure although, I think he only knows one routine. Elbow and palm pressure over and over again everywhere. My lower legs are super sensitive and yet again he started digging in "Ouch!!" I couldn't stop myself from exclaiming! The insult to injury was the worker one bay over kept making the most disgusting spit hacking sound...over and over again. This is sad for me to leave such a negative review but, people need to know because money is scarce and I don't want anyone to waste theirs like I feel I wasted mine. To the owner: please do better. I've had some amazing massages here. Peter and Ivan are the best , ask for one of them. Get the 90 minute combo massage with hot stone, $80 plus tip (leave at least $20 if these men gave you a strong massage for 90mins!) Start face down with deep back and shoulder rub. Hot stones make an entrance when you are properly relaxed. Eventually you flip over and get face, scalp, and neck. Your feet are resting in a hot bowl of water, then foot and leg massage ending with light stretching. You're in a common room, but they have sheets on the beds as well as covering you, and everyone has their eyes closed anyways. There's a basket for your belongings. Drink some water when you're done. The masseuses chat quietly occasionally, just have different expectations, this isn't a traditional America spa experience but still highly relaxing and therapeutic. read more

We came here and I did not look at the yelp reviews first otherwise I would not have even wasted time and money here. The masseuse don't know what they are doing. Fast hands in massage doesn't mean time will go faster and the client will feel good. If they learned to take their time and massage all areas instead of focusing their elbows only on one area for three to four minutes maybe they wouldn't be so tired. This place was just fine re: technique, the room, the service, everything. I'm really picky about my massages. I don't think they change the towels between clients. It's $20 an hour and it's custom to tip $10 so we wanted to try it out. They don't really ask you about pressure or your likes/dislikes. I also don't speak Chinese and I wasn't sure how much my massage person spoke English so I just enjoyed the experience for what is was. It is a medium sized room and everyone is in the same area. There are no partitions or curtains. You also stay clothed and take off your socks and shoes. My person smelled like band aids and I wasn't sure if it was him, the oil, or some weird new cigarette or some thing.
