A random little stop on my trip through Ohio. Was this or fast food. Man, I am glad I picked this place! The food was fresh and tasted amazing. Very clean for a Chinese buffet. I brought almost 40 people in this restaurant to eat and enjoy our dinner. I never heard any complaints from anyone. They did us a favor in opening their doors on Monday (their day off). Highly appreciated their gestures in having us there from all over. Celebrated the life of a family member who just passed. Thank you thank you for your goodness. Love this place. Have been going here for many many years. Have never had bad food or bad service in all those years. new owners now but the food is still great and service is still excellent. Food is made in smaller batches so it fresh. My favorites are the Chicken and Broccoli, Peanut Butter Chicken, Mushrooms and the sugar biscuits! Been going for years and years. I heard this place was under new management. gave it a try and disappointed. will not be back, food was not like it was with previous owners, not even sure I got "chicken" bc it was mostly breading, hard noodles for the soup were stale and worst of all, the fortune cookie was VERY stale. Chinese food FAIL...took other yelper s advice and did not eat the cold bland buffet inside. Instead we ordered take out. We got sweet and sour chicken but they forgot to include the sweet and sour sauce and ordered chicken fried rice. It had more onions than chicken in it and we specified NO onions. Also, hot and sour soup was cold, very slimy and runny. All around bad experience. Never again! read more

I love Happy Garden! so far I have been to several different Chinese restaurants/buffets of the same size/style and Happy Garden's by far is the better one, their sauce is delicious, portions are generous, they are family owned. Dining area is simple but clean. My only caution is the buffet, you either get it nice and fresh or a little bit past due. If you want it fresh just ask and wait. I love their chicken with Broccoli, General Tso Chicken, Sesame Beef, their house special Fried Rice, pretty much everything I have ordered is good. Again if you go for the Buffet you are playing roulette w/ freshness. if you ask for fresh they'll bring fresh. read more

But my szeschuan scallops were only OK, but not great. The price was very good and the service was as well. But with no other customers, I would expect good service. We had plenty of food and both took home 1/2 of the meal. They do not serve alcohol, and that may be an issue for some. There were several televisions on with one having the volume up loud enough for us to hear. It was tuned to a news station. Neither of us care to have a television on when eating. It is unfortunate that the neighborhood has deteriorated over the years. That may hurt them. There was a group of us, friends, that used to eat there around 30 to 40 years ago when they had huge crowds of customers. Not so now. The building is in need of a major do over. I do not know how long the restaurant was closed, and the building shows the lack of attention. The 3 star rating is due to the condition of the building and parking lot. The food was easily a 4 star. All in all it was a good meal and served relatively quickly.

Both were enough for two people to share by themselves and share we did. The chicken was in this delicate breading with a slightly sweet, spicy sauce. Crispy and just the right amount of heat. The rice was also delicious with lots of garlic. Patrons are welcome to byob for a small fee. So next time you are in the mood for Thai, take a ride to the west side and enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality at Buddha Barn. You will be happy you did.

I ordered the Crab Rangoon which was perfectly cooked with a crispy outer shell and delicious gooey crab sauce in the middle with a bowl of sweet and sour sauce, so good. My entree was chicken chow mein W/ white rice. It came out hot and was very delicious.
