Happy Lemon is located in Serramonte mall, right next to Uniqlo. I usually see a long line every time I pass by, but thank goodness this time there wasn't. Prior to Happy Lemon, I had a very, spicy lunch and I was dying. I needed something to quench my thirst and cool the fire in my mouth. Here's what we ordered: 1. H3 - Yakult Lemon slushy (his) 2. A1 - Green tea with salted cheese (mine) The staff got my name right, of which I was happy about. My name gets easily confused with Paula/Paulina. When the cashier doublechecked with me about the spelling and the pronunciation of my name, that really made me appreciate her more since she took the extra time to make sure she got the right information. We only had to wait like 2-3 minutes until our drinks were ready. I also liked that the guy who was handing drinks to us, helped to mix my boyfriend's drink and asked if I wanted green tea powder on my drink. I am a fan of their Salted Cheese series. They have the best! I have tried Happy Lemon in 3 different countries, and they are very consistent. My most favorite is the Green Tea SC because it is a perfect balance of bitter, sweet and creamy taste all in one concoction. It took about 20 minutes for the first two orders to come out since the boba was still being cooked. The wait was worth it though, as the boba was cooked to perfection and the milktea was pretty good. This is now my favorite Happy Lemon location! Service is quick and friendly, and most importantly, their drinks are made on point! Also, their side of salted cheese is a generous amount, not like the San Bruno location, which now gives a tiny side and increased their prices for same amount. My favorite drink is the mixed berry green tea (which comes with salted cheese in a size large only), and I like how there's a generous amount of blueberries in the tea. They even top the drink off with some matcha powder, which is an awesome plus in my opinion! My second favorite is their Oreo milk tea, and I will say they put a generous amount of boba in the drink! I'm all about toppings especially if you're paying extra for it, so I'm glad they don't make you feel like you got skimped. They're open! I tried this location once before when they just opened, the drinks were about a 2 out of 5 stars for me at the time. Now it is closer to 3.5. At any location, I get my Green Tea with Salted Cheese at 100% sweet but they make the drinks a little sweeter here and the tea is weaker. They have egg waffles now called Bubble Waffle, I taste a small amount of mochiko flour in it. Came here on Black Friday so it may have been more crowded than usual, but even then they made the drink in a reasonable amount of time! This location is in the Serramonte shopping center and it's perfect for a shopping break. I ordered the salted cheese black tea and it was definitely one of the more interesting drinks I've had. Imagine how salted caramel is with the salt flavor balancing out the sweetness. I thought it works and the salted cheese adds a nice creaminess. I am so excited that Happy Lemon is open in Serramonte! :) It's located right next to Uniqlo and near the Target. When ordering, the line forms in the middle of the space and there are tables along the walls for when you wait for your order. I am a fan of their salted cheese and usually get A2 Black Tea with Salted Cheese. If you aren't into salted cheese, there are lots of other great options on their menu like Oreo Milk Tea, Mango Yakult Smoothie, Mango Matcha and more. When I went on a Thursday at around 5:40PM, there were about 8 people in front of us in line. Service was great and efficient considering the constant flow of customers. We waited about 8 minutes to order and another 10 minutes for our drinks to be ready, which wasn't bad at all. If you don't already have one, Happy Lemon also has a free rewards/"reboot" card and for every $4 you spend, you get one point. Once you reach 10 points, you get a free drink! One of my go to spots for consistently good boba/milk tea if I am in the Daly City area! Pros - many good options and consistently good drinks. I am very particular about the level of sweetness and strength of the tea. Whenever I try different boba spots, I find that many places are not consistent with tea strength and sweetness level (for instance, milk tea tasting too watered down instead of that fragrant tea flavor or milk tea being too sweet even if I requested 25% sweet). However, happy lemon seems to get it right most of the time with the level of sweetness that I requested and the quality of the tea. I'm never left disappointed! I highly recommend 25% to 50% sweetness for the perfect level of sweetness. My go to drinks are the: black tea boba with salted cream and boba milk tea with cream puff - when I am feeling basic, I'll usually get one of these 2 drinks. The black tea is perfectly brewed and the salted cream/cream puff topping compliment it so well! Towards the end of my drink, I get super excited with the leftover salted cream/cream puff. matcha mango - If I am ordering boba at a later time of the day and would prefer something lightly caffeinated yet fruity, I'll often gravitate towards this drink. Tastes sooo good and you get the best of both worlds! Cons - Because this is located in the mall, it is usually ALWAYS busy. I tried to like this place, and I'm not sure should I give it another try. I got the oolong salted cheese and the green tea with salted cheese. I felt the cheese made no difference and the drinks were not as strong as the one in Tanforan. At least at the one in Tanforan, i can taste the cheese and the strong tea. The service on the other hand, also differs. I got one of the nicest cashier one time and recently one of the cashiers acted like they didn't even want to be there. I ordered the Strawberry Black Tea with boba and I consider myself quite the connoisseur since my main order is Strawberry Black Tea. Black tea tends to have a dry back throat aftertaste but Happy Lemons did NOT which is one of the worst thing about black tea (in my opinion). They also had mini chunks of strawberry in it which was very nice and tasteful. There was plenty of boba. Usually I have to be careful not to eat to much boba in the beginning so I can leave some for later but it was quite the opposite! 10/10 would recommend! Here's one thing I didn't like but is 100% not their fault. I ordered via Yelp (pickup) and it said it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. Which was weird since I was there (I don't like to order at the counter) and everyone who came after me got their orders before mine. They weren't super busy but I think Yelp gave my order later (it was actually fulfilled through GrubHub).
