We first tried Happy Lemon while visiting Vancouver. At that location, we got a lemon yakult with aloe drink and taro balls, and that changed our life. We still have a keychain from that location in a souvenir box at home. Thus, I cannot tell you how excited I was when I spied Happy Lemon in Evanston. It's about a half hour drive from our house, but that certainly beats a trip to Vancouver! We quickly made the journey and found that, sadly, our favorite menu items were missing. I hope they might add them soon. That said, what is offered at this location is still some really good stuff. If you haven't tried a cheese top drink yet, that is definitely worth a try. Think more like cream cheese than queso - trust me, it's tasty. I can also recommend the Passion Fruit Jasmine Green Tea, if you are more in the mood for something fruity. Finally, taro fans will enjoy the taro smoothie with taro foam (I think it's called puff cream?). It gives a fluffy twist to a familiar flavor. read more

This place is awesome! Trin, who I think is the owner, was super friendly. I had never had a salted cheese anything. Trin explained everything and recommended the salted cheese drinks. She gave me a salted cheese milk tea because I told her I liked milk tea. I got the cold one. It was heavenly! Perfect drink for a hot summer day. I can't even describe it. It was smooth, creamy, sweet with a touch of salt. You have to taste it for yourself to know what I mean! I also got the egg bubble waffle which was equally good. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a great afternoon snack. It was also very light and not filling like a regular waffle. I highly recommend this place! read more

Got the passion fruit green tea with lychee cubes and it was delicious! I love that you could really taste the green tea and it didn't just taste like fruit juice. I wish there were more lychee cubes for better proportion to the tea, but the drink size was amazing. Perfect for a bubble tea lover. They have really great fruit teas! My favorite is the strawberry green tea. Super refreshing for the summer days. Also the tapioca pearls are always super chewy and well marinated in the brown sugar! Only thing is their milk teas can be super heavy and sweet. read more

Cheese foam is the way to go when ordering at Happy Lemon! If you have a sweet tooth, 100% sugar is good. For me personally, I don't like a lot of sugar so I usually order with 70% or 30% especially if you're going to order the puff cream/additional sweets (Oreos. Etc.) in your drink. read more

I originally had a negative review for this place, but the owner went out of her way to make my next experience more pleasant. And she was very successful. This place is cute and quirky. I've been a couple times now, once for the bubble waffles and a fruity tea drink, and another time for a salted cheese tea drink. I was underwhelmed by the waffles although they look fun. The salted cheese is interesting. I'm glad I tried it but don't think I'll order it again. I waited over 10mins for your overly priced mediocre waffles because these ladies kept taking in orders and making everyone else drinks. They ignored me after I tried to get their attention, even tho the waffles were ready to be served. Yet, kept giving out drinks. It makes no sense. That's Poor time management on top of literally not acknowledging a customer. DO NOT COME HERE. It's over priced and to be honest not that good. Disappointed by this place, I came in thinking I would be able to enjoy my Boba tea and feel safe within Happy Lemon. I was wrong, first of all I ordered and waited almost 30 minutes. Once I received it, I realized they got my order wrong!! You would think after waiting 30 minutes I would not have this problem. I was shocked at the way they handled this. Not to mention that the staff don't even wear masks! Amidst everything that is going on with covid and new cases, these employees don't have an ounce of respect to put masks on!
