    Choc waffle w/ dipping cream

Happy Lemon is a franchised bubble tea shop and is also a lifestyle that incorporates generations of tea culture. It offers freshly brewed tea, with every drink handmade onsite. They're known for their signature lemonades. Happy Lemon was founded in 2006 by Albert Wu in Taiwan. As of 2026, there are more than 2,000 locations worldwide, with 100 locations in the US (CA, WA, TX have the most stores). The first location in the US was in NY in 2013. While the menus vary for each location, they are known to have: * Variety of iced or cold blended beverages that include classic brewed tea and milk tea, fruit smoothies, fruit tea, lemon slushies, squeezed lemon tea, and salted cheese beverages. The drinks are customized with ice and sugar ratios. * Food and snacks that include bubble waffles. You may choose to have boba in each bubble pocket. Flavors are plain, matcha, chocolate, red bean and oreo; they come with a dipping sauce called puff cream. After dinner at a nearby restaurant, we decided to take our granddaughter to Happy Lemon a few doors down to see if she was interested in eating a bubble waffle. Yes, she was all excited and chose the choc bubble waffle with the creamy dipping sauce. She loved it! We all took a sample and agreed that it was a great snack! No drinks for us, though, as a family came in ordering drinks, and staff were tipping the drink containers to get the last drop. Looks like they had to make more, which would result in longer waiting times. The shop interior was spacious, bright, clean, cheery with a lemony ambiance! There were tables/chairs to sit on to enjoy your desserts. Hours of operation are Mon to Fri 12n to 10p, Sat 11a to 10p, Sun 11a to 9p. Lots of free parking available in the Ward Theater and nearby parking areas shared with businesses in the complex. Happy Lemon is in a great location should you want dessert or a quick snack!

Refreshing indeed! Honey Lemon Green Tea with mango boba - a party in your mouth! ....minus one star for sweetness at 50% its STILL sweet! Next time 25 % should be just right!

First of all, service was great. Staff were warm and informative about the menu. We ordered bubble waffles, original and chocolate. We had puff cream on the side. The waffles were great, will definitely order again. The puff cream was more on the salty cream side. The waffles were great on their own. Had lemon slushy and boba milk tea with puff cream. Both were great, just need to be sweeter. The place was nice and quiet, perfect for after the park. The AC was not cool enough, might be nice if it's cranked down. All in all, it was a nice experience.

Drinks were ok. Cute decor and good service but the waffle was dry and the drinks were just ok.

We didn't find out that Happy Lemon opened up again at Ward but in a different location! We stumbled upon this place when we were driving around the area and ended up in a dead end (the area is actually still being developed) We ordered the bubble milk tea which is our go-to and my daughter loves the Oreo bubble waffle. I also recommend trying their soft serve! The staff were welcoming and friendly and the place is really clean!

Located in Kakaako in the area with the newer Ward shops, Happy Lemon is situated with a few other shops such as Nori Bar. The area outside feels clean and spacious. The interior is also pretty clean and bright. There are some tables to sit at as well. They have a menu with a decent amount of options but it did not feel overwhelming. The people working were nice and they made the drinks quickly. We decided to get the Yakult Green Tea and Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie. The Yakult GT was not overly sweet, and had a subtle Yakult flavor. It was good! The smoothie was on the sweeter side and good too. Definitely a neat looking drink with the colors! The prices were not crazy but I wouldn't say it was cheap. We hope to be back sometime to try other drinks.

Ramen mission complete, sugar mission activated! I'd spotted this cheerful, lemony exterior before and knew boba and sweet drinks were ripe for sipping. With my friend being a loyal fan, we were ready to zest and sip our way into fruity bliss. Location: On the street level of the Koula building in Ward Village, squeezed between Nori Bar and Dean & Deluca. Parking: We parked a little off-site, but the closest lot is in A'ali'i (corner of Robinson Ln & Queen St). Consolidated Theatres or Whole Foods lots work too - think of it as a pre-boba warm-up for your legs. Atmosphere: Cute, citrusy, and all about the lemons. Classic "boba shop chic" (almost Sunright vibes), with enough seating to chill before the evening rush. A small line formed later, but no sidewalk takeovers. Drinks: Usually I'm all about boba, but tonight I went with a mango matcha smoothie time since I needed a sleep-friendly sipper. Tangy, sweet, and fruity? Check. Matcha flavor? Totally ghosted - didn't even RSVP to its date with mango. Mango's solo performance? Still a showstopper. Food: Bubble waffles had always been on my radar, but thanks to my friend, I finally gave it a try. One taste and it was love at first fluff - airy, flavorful, and oh-so-dippable. My stomach tapped out, but my taste buds were shouting "encore"! Service: Smooth sailing - the cashier was friendly, and both my drink and my friend's bubble waffle landed in our hands within 5-10 minutes. Price: Around $8 for my drink, not bad. Would I return? Absolutely - left feeling like a happy little lemon, and next time I'll peel out room for bubble waffle indulgence.

I'm so glad Happy Lemon re-opened in Ward, and this location does not disappoint! My go-to drink is their Strawberry Green Tea, but I've also been loving their (new!) Mango Sago drink recently. Both are so delicious and refreshing, but they tend to be on the sweeter side, so I personally order them at 25-50% sugar level. If you want to order boba with your drinks, I'd definitely recommend it - honestly, I've been disappointed by other Happy Lemon locations before, but this one has consistently good boba, with perfectly chewy texture and distinct brown sugar taste. I also love their Bubble Waffles, which are always satisfying, crispy, and pairs perfectly with their sweet and slightly salty Puff Cream. Note that it is about $9 for both, which I think is a bit expensive but definitely worth it as a treat every so often! Overall, I always love coming to this Happy Lemon for their friendly staff, convenient location, and clean and aesthetically pleasing seating area! Considering that Happy Lemon is an international chain and Hawai'i has many other local boba shops, this is honestly not always my go-to suggestion for tourists. However, if you're already in the area and want a refreshing, sweet treat, I'd definitely recommend stopping by!

Cute little tea house with delicious waffles. We came around 3:30pm in the afternoon while walking our puppy, and it was empty with just us. It was nice to sit down on a hot afternoon and have a refreshing drink. The lemonade green tea was refreshing and I chose sugar free. So great that I can pick my prefer level of sugar. It was still very good without the sugar. The bubble waffle came out fast and hot. The vanilla whip cream was delicious. I could finished 2 of these huge waffles by myself. What a delicious surprise! The staff was nice, and shop was clean and the drinks and food were delicious . Highly recommend!

I'm so glad Happy Lemon reopened in the Ward (I'd usually pick one up across from Kid City and was so sad they had closed that location - also, so sad to hear the shops at the Ward Centre Shopping Mall are closing moving for future build of luxury condos). Yay, for a mom pick-me-up with their Okinawa brown sugar boba - my fav and my husband's! Other boba shops only have purées for smoothies a happy lemon uses fresh fruit and you can ask for no sugar, which is a huge plus for my kids. My son loves the mango yakult smoothie with no sugar. My daughter likes the strawberry slushie without lemon. Happy lemon makes us happy!

Refreshing beverage in Honolulu, Hawai'i... Even though Happy Lemon is a chain, it still has an interesting menu and local specials - that's why I got the Mango Lemon Slushy. It had an intensely tart flavor and tiny bits of fruit mixed in. To make the drink more palatable, I added in some unsweetened green tea... LOL! Located across from Cino, to the right of Nori Bar, and to the left of Dean & Deluca, is the new location of Happy Lemon. The Ward Village location closed and this one appeared in Kaka'ako! I've also visited the one at Pearlridge Mall and Ala Moana Center. The worker seemed a bit concerned while I was taking photos. I told him I'm going to post them online. Haha! Overall, it was an alright experience. I parked across the street for free. I appreciated the cool air-conditioning and clean, bright environment! Thank you!

I ordered a passion fruit tea which was good, nothing to rave about. Wish it had some real fruit pieces. Also got the bubble waffles and it was bad. Very tasteless. The batter needs a lot of work.

I didn't even realize they relocated/reopened until we were strolling in ward! Came after a dinner and it was quite busy (lots of kids mainly). Quick to order, it took 10min for the mochi waffle but totally worth it! Got it fresh, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. The soft serve is the same as I remember as well! A few tables inside/outside (about the same as the last location). Happy to know they're back!!
