We were definitely happier after trying Happy Lemon. The line was pretty long on a Sunday afternoon but glad we waited. We tried the lemon yokult green tea and the Mango green tea. We reduced the sweetness to 75% and glad that we did. It was perfect with less sweetness. The drinks did take a few minutes. There are small tables and areas where you can seat while you wait or seat after you get your drinks. We would definitely go back and try some of their other drinks. read more

Went to check out Happy Lemon's Oolong series BOGO that I saw on an Instagram ad. I was not expecting much since it was Happy Lemon. Got the Strawberry Oolong Milk Tea and Passionfruit Lemon Oolong Tea. I preferred the Strawberry Oolong Milk Tea because it was sweeter compared to the extremely tart Passionfruit. Overall, the flavors didn't stand out and the tea was nowhere to be tasted as the sweetness was too much despite getting less sugar. But who can complain! The price for BOGO was worth the drink I got. Since we went to the UTC HL, the service was really quick and we could just order and leave pretty fast. read more

I'm not at all a fan of happy lemon as a chain but this location got things SO RIGHT. Best strawberry green tea I've ever had. Plenty of seating in the shade. Sometimes there's a long line and wait. Staff is friendly but happened to witness an employee speaking very rudely at a customer for leaving her straw wrapper on the counter since no trash can was in sight. Maybe they can kindly toss it for her or put a can out since 99.9% of people have straw wrappers.. read more

Happy Lemon is an awesome kiosk at UTC mall. They have a great selection of lemonades and other drinks. I needed something to drink after walking through the mall and doing some shopping. I didnt want to sit down anywhere nor did I want to go to into the food court. Happy Lemon is perfect for when you just need something to drink. The young lady was good at helping me choose the correct drink for me. I ended up with just a classic lemonade and adjusted the sugar levels/sweetness to my desire. I literally savored every sip of that damn lemonade. The cup is so cute too! I literally saved it for when I got home and refilled it with water. I ingest a lot of Boba drinks so it's pretty hard to get 5 stars from me for Boba. Happy Lemon has managed to do so based solely on the quality of ingredients and the taste of the final product. The boba balls are literally the best I've tasted in probably a few years. The balls are the perfect amount of chew and texture without any slime or gooeyness that other boba places sometimes have. These boba balls also have a bit of burnt brown sugar taste to them (think crème brûlée sugar crust burnt, not nasty burnt). The sugar content was just the right amount and they blended the ube smoothie to a nice even consistency. The staff took our orders quickly and the drink took about 3-5 minutes to be completed- so not too bad of a wait. This location is just a little kiosk/box in the middle of the walk way so it doesn't have any inside seating. The mall itself however has plenty of places where you can sit down and enjoy this. read more

It was a beautiful sunny day and we we went to UTC for some lunch, afterwards, we decided to go for a stroll. Looking for a drink of some sort, we found Happy Lemon. It's one of those small floating kiosks, not an actual storefront. We came from the back side and it didn't look open, but when we went around to the front, there was a line waiting to order. Can't really see the menu until you get to the front of the line. As we waited, the line grew even more. We ordered a large Oreo smoothie, 100% ice and 25% sweetness. You can get the exact same drink as a milk tea, the smoothie is just the blended version. The drink cost just about $7. I usually like my smoothies to have some thickness to the drink, more on the watery side, definitely not as thick as I would've liked it. The drink itself was not bad. 2025: 32 read more

Shopping can make you parched, that was my excuse for stopping for a Mango tea. It was a cute little kiosk with Boba type drinks that caught my eye. Price range $6 to $8, depending on size and add on toppings. MENU HIGHLIGHTS: Fresh Squeezed Lemonade with or without Green Tea, Kumquat Lemon Jasmine Tea, and Strawberry Lemonade. Milk Teas with or without Boba, Brown Sugar, Matcha Latte, Oreo Cookies or Wintermelon. Salted Tea is something I have not worked myself up to try. The choices are Black or Green Tea, Strawberry ... all with Salted Cheese topping. Smoothies are also popular, I saw Avocado, Mango, and Strawberry Shortcake. An afternoon at the Westfield Mall in La Jolla was very busy and lots of walking. I really like the stores at this location. Many places that are not in my usual mall. It's hard to write a bad review for local businesses, but customer service can really make or break a business. This review is based on my uber eats order experience (which can be used as a training opportunity). I placed an uber eats order for (2) drinks approximately around 4:45-4:50pm (Wednesday 7/16/25). I get the notification on the app at 5:00pm that my order is likely ready, go to the front counter to show my order details to an employee, and all they say is "the tablet has being very weird. We just got the order right now. We'll make it now--just give us about 4 minutes." I wait another 10 minutes and realize that everyone else who ordered after me got their drinks... I go up to the front window, the employee at the registers was asking everyone else if there was an uber eats order with my name on it. The original employee who helped me when I got there again says "the tablet has been acting weird. We'll make it right now." There was no accountability, no initiative on trying to fix the tablet, just a lack of customer service. How are other online orders being processed if the tablet is not working properly?! After this, I sit back down and wait another 5 minutes. My drinks are still not done. I had to go up to the counter another time, wait a minute, and then I FINALLY received my order at 5:21pm almost 40 minutes after I placed this online beforehand. This was one of my worst experiences with Happy Lemon and I hope that the customer experience can be prioritized with the proper training. read more

First time hearing about Happy Lemon. We were on our way to Wushiland, but my brother and my nephew wanted Happy Lemon instead so here we are. It's a standalone shop in the middle of the Westfield University Town Center (UTC). Their specialty is different kinds of drinks such as the classic tea, salted cheese, lemon, smoothie, and fruit tea series. I don't recall seeing anything else, but drinks and toppings. My brother got Freshly Squeezed Lemon Honey. My nephew got Macha Latte with salted cheesefoam. I got Milk Tea with salted cheesefoam plus taro balls. I was very pleased with my drink for it being my first time trying it. Very light and tasty... not too sweet... taro balls was the best part... so soft and chewy! Staff was pleasantly nice. Service was okay... they were very busy though. Prices were decent. Atmosphere was comfortable with tables and chairs outside for customers to sit and enjoy their drinks. Now that I know about Happy Lemon, I'll have to seek them out closer to where I live. Happy Lemon, here I come! LOL Btw, we still hit Wushiland later in the evening LOL. read more

I remember when the first happy lemon opened in my hometown when I was in high school. Lines were crazy and the hype was real! I'll always look fondly upon the silly lemon mascot as a reminder of THE high school senior year meetup spot. Trying cheese foam for the first time, sharing cake from the spot next door with my friends, this is a nostalgic chain for me! That being said, the tea I've had here in recent years is just ok. This particular happy lemon is a small kiosk in UTC mall. It doesn't usually get a ton of traffic (being lowkey overshadowed by wushiland or bengong) but it's central location provides a steady stream of customers. The shop is only big enough for 2-3 employees, so service does get a bit slow and a line can build up. I've tried the mango matcha and strawberry cheese foam tea from this location. I think in both cases, the respective fruit purées and creamy components were excellent, with the tea falling a bit short. The drinks are on the sweet side, even when I ask for reduced sugar, and the tea flavor is very weak. In particular the mango matcha tasted more like mango ice cream, without matcha taste. Prices are steep but in line with other boba places these days. There is plenty of outdoor seating as the area has plenty of tables and chairs. Overall I think the drinks I've tried at Happy Lemon are tasty if you just think of them as creamy fruit drinks, but they don't provide the tea kick that I need to really bring it to the next level. read more

Service is horrible ! The three people working there made fun of me. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ! Monday 19, 2026 at 1:00pm . I made a mistake in ordering something that I thought my grandson wanted. When I recieved it I realized I made a mistake and kindly asked them to change the drink for me . Not only did they make me pay for another drink they made fun of me, and literally told me not to come back. Hopefully you can hire people that have a little judgment of costumer service. read more

The thing I hate most is lazy people. I always try to be kind to workers as I know how stressful these types of jobs can be. I kindly asked the staff to change my sugar level of my drink to 25% because my recipe my said 75%. No biggie right! Afterwards, the lady said sure with the rudest attitude known to man. I asked in the nicest way possible too. When my mom and I tried our drinks, it was clearly not 25% sugar--more like 150%. My drink was 75% ice too, sipped it down in 30 seconds. I understand jobs are hard, but let's not be a lazy Lima bean. read more

This is probably the second time I do not have a good milk tea experience at UTC. I decided to give this place a shot again since I happen to be at the mall. My drink was not bad and the time it took for the drink to come out was reasonable but the people working there were just ok. Both employees seem annoyed that they have to speak to customers. It wasn't even that busy so I'm not sure what got them so stressed. This location is in the middle of UTC's cute plaza so in theory it's a great spot to grab a drink and hang out but I probably wouldnt buy from here again because I've had significantly better experiences elsewhere with better tasting drinks. read more

Small little stand near the food court. The line wasn't too long when we ordered but after it got long. The wait is a little long for boba. I just figured out Happy Lemon makes their drinks waaaay too sweet. A good sugar level would probably be 25%. 50% was still a tad bit too sweet. I usually get their milk tea with cheese foam. I love a little boba drink walking around the mall. UTC has so many different boba spots, but Happy Lemon always seems like the easiest to get. My favorite thing of Happy Lemon is you can specify how much sweetness and ice you want added to your drink. Their located near the food court and the staff was super friendly. I love the mango matcha smoothie from Happy Lemon! It's a great combination. I don't think they use too much matcha in it because it doesn't make me anxious/jittery. The taro milkshake was good, but it tastes like any other taro smoothie I've had at much more affordable boba shops. Prices are pretty steep at $7.50 for the mango matcha. I'm glad they still have a big menu even though it's just a stand at the mall. read more

I typically bounce between going to Wushiland and Happy Lemon for boba at UTC. I think I default to Wushiland but come to Happy Lemon if I'm specifically craving their salted cheese foam topping (sounds weird if this is your first time hearing about a drink topping like this, but think of a cream cheese frosting whipped cream. Compared to their actual store on Convoy, this little stand has a more limited menu (certain sizes and options are not offered). The line to order can get a little long but they move fast and drinks are ready pretty soon after. My go-to is a milk tea with salted cheese at 70% sugar and no ice. read more

ok man so lemme say that i did not expect to like this as much as i did. i ordered the matcha latte with salted cheese and that shi was actually hella good bro. there was a very nice matcha flavor in the drink. also not too sweet and not under sweetened, but just perfect. and also the salted. cheese really gives it a nice contrast bro. first time trying the salted cheese actually and it really did the matcha justice. shi was hella good! and also the employee working there was also very nice. service was a lil slow tho since there was only one girl working there, so i can't rly hold that against em. but overall man, yall gotta try this when u get happy lemon at utc read more

We were craving boba while waiting for our reservation time and stumbled across this little stand in the Westfield UTC shopping center. It's absolutely adorable, and the staff are friendly and helpful here. The drinks here are great. We got the Milk Tea with Oreo & Puff Cream and added in boba. Perfect amount of sweet and had the perfect Oreo flavor. Would hands down order it again. This is just a little stand at the shopping center, but there are plenty of places around the area to sit down if you'd like. The drinks are also perfect for walking around with. Parking can be involved, so I don't think I'd make a special trip JUST for the boba. However, if I was already there, I would definitely stop here. Highly recommend. read more

Happy Lemon has such good boba at an affordable price here at UTC. It's located near the food court area in a small building outdoors. I ordered a large boba milk tea while my friend ordered mango smoothie with salted cheese! The boba was so soft and chewy and the milk tea had a nice tea flavor as well. Excited to see a Happy Lemon at this location! It is smaller than your usual Happy Lemon; it's in one of those stands by the food court, and they have a smaller menu (no salted cheese!). I got the milk tea with rock salt cream with boba. Staff was friendly and didn't have to wait long for my drink. Drink was good but not what I would usually order from Happy Lemon. Wouldn't order the drink with boba again because I drank it without the straw so I could get the cream! read more

Dropped by during their soft opening and ordered a Strawberry Green Tea with Lychee Jelly and a Classic Milk Tea with salted cheese (this place calls it "rock salt cream"). Both drinks were very tasty and pretty similar to the quality in other locations. Tea was very flavorful and the rock salt cream tasted like the salted cheese, but not as strong of a flavor. Their menu is definitely not as expansive as usual, but I expect it to grow after their soft opening! Overall exciting to finally have good boba near UCSD :) read more

Wave Bowl $16 (14.50+1.50): 5/5 The bowl itself looks fairly small like, but deceptively so since I was stuffed after eating the whole thing for breakfast. It is higher cost than I would usually spend but I don't eat açaí bowls to know the average. Personally I really liked that the toppings were at the bottom and the bases were on top, not just because it was a beautiful display but because sometimes when it is the opposite, it can quickly get messy with toppings falling and dropping. The granola was crunchy and the add-on nut butter ($1.50) was plentiful and contrasted well to the fruits. You get some finely diced strawberries and bananas that were just the right amount of ripe, the bananas a little more firm but definitely preferred with the bases. The pineapple spirulina was favorite as it had a good sweetness to it. Honestly wished I could get a bowl with just this as a base and of course the natural blue color is just so unique. In this case yes the bowl was OK was but was no better than the 3 other bowl places within a mile of this location. The wait was LONG as for many of the bowl places on this street but this one was extra long as in 45 minutes to an hour wait on off hours long. And of course with all these tik tok famous places the price was inflated. Based on taste alone I could have given this place 4 starts but the extra tik tok tax(inflated price just for being TikTok trendy) and extra wait time for the exact same thing you can get anywhere else rubbed me wrong so I'm going to have to leave this 3 star right here.

Acharipon made a pretty bowl that was Yelp photo worthy! What I loved about my bowl: The açaí base was very frozen. Some other places make it watery, which I do not care for. I liked how it was frozen, down to the last spoon! The blueberries were frozen (I love frozen blueberries). Areas for improvement: The strawberries were frozen and chopped into tiny pieces. Fresh strawberries would've been nicer. The toppings options were limited. The shop was very clean and organized. There was a self-help kiosk where you placed your order, but payment was at the register. It seemed a bit odd that the kiosk didn't have the functionality to accept payments, because the order had to be re-confirmed at the register when it was already confirmed at the self-help kiosk. However, it contained 28g of protein and was full of delicious and fresh ingredients. She made my drink to my customized liking and it tasted super good. The acai bowls here look tasty as well and are customizable with any toppings such as fresh fruits, nuts, butter seeds, cacao nibs, granola and coconut. Maybe next time as I was pretty satisfied with the smoothie I got!!! Perfect and convenient if you're at the mall already. They have outdoor dining tables and chairs you can sit at.

She did apologize but said other people are waiting. I ordered another juice and was going to order sandwiches and acai bowls but felt like we probably were at cafe more than an hour and out stayed our stay. I understand as a business you have to be strict about the bathroom and that is their policy however if it is a juice/coffee place your customers are bound to use the restroom several times especially if they are continuing to order. Unfortunately, It did turn me away to try the food which I actually was looking forward to as they did offer organic croissant sandwiches. We decided to just choose another place to order food. I'll have to think about returning as we are always in La Jolla for yoga.
