Drove 4 hours to watch some grandkids and everything was fine until it wasn't. Started hearing a huge roar from the engine even when the motor was off. At my SIL's recommendation, I submitted a request to see when Highway 78 Auto could look at it. Took it in this morning and the tech looked at it immediately and pretty much had a good idea what it was. Danielle was super sweet and offered to take me to my daughter's home. A few hours later and Danielle called and said it was ready! Wow! It's hard to find great service like this anymore. Now I know why SIL only trusts this shop to work on his vehicles. This place rocks. From the front counter to the guys in the bays, and even the restroom and waiting area. My wife found them through local Facebook recommendations. They did an inspection, were quick, friendly and reasonable cost. My next visit was after a bad experience at NTB, trying to buy a battery for a Subaru. They didn't have the right one, and wouldn't call another location. I called my wife, who sent me here. In 4 minutes, I had the battery in hand and a paid invoice. I've been back for a battery for my truck, after I had it jumped and pulled in w/o an appt. 25 minutes, I was on the road. Last visit was for another inspection. They scored a 10 on all visits. I've worked with dozens of shops over 40 years, and do a lot of my own repairs. These guys will flourish because they are honest, polite and hard working. read more

I've been using Hwy 78 Auto for 20 years. Just after moving to Wylie I needed some automotive repair and found these guys. My lucky day for sure. Kevin and Rodney are super to work with. They will explain what the problem is and what it's going to take to fix it. NO BS!! They don't try and jack it up so they can make more off of the repair. It is what it is. I am many things, but an auto-savvy person I am not. Not even a little bit. It's because of this that when it comes time to do anything car related, I definitely shy away from having to go to an auto shop. Thank the Lord for auto places like Highway 78 Auto. Their prices are awesome, which is a bonus, but the icing on the cake is their customer service. They are always so kind, fair, crazy fast, respectful and friendly. Had a coolant flush and refill done and had Avery good experience with them. Came in under their cost estimate which was already at the low end of the prices I was getting for this service, called with feedback while they were working and sold me the remaining antifreeze (not easy to find) for about half price. After hearing noises from my engine I didn't recognize I took my truck to them this Saturday morning to check it out. They figured it out quickly and fixed the problem. They totally could have claimed it was a bigger issue that would cost more to fix. Went in today for an oil change, tire rotation and check engine for squeak noises. Rodney was very professional. He listened to my requests and concerns. I don't usually give out 5 stars, but I think Hwy 78 auto definitely deserves the honor. As a female, I usually feel like I am being taken on my auto repairs, but that didn't happen with Hwy 78 Auto. I had to have my Yukon in twice recently, once for a problem that it would not stay running, which they diagnosed and fixed right away and then a second time when the catalytic converter went out. Of course my husband was not in town when it broke down, so I had to be the one to take it in. They were very reasonable for each fix and I appreciate being able to take my vehicle somewhere where they are not just trying to sell me on repairs I don't need. They did what they promised and in a timely manner so I was not without my vehicle for very long. I wish more businesses were run like these guys and will definitely take my car back when it needs any kind of service. read more

Have used 78 Auto many times with our 3 autos. ALWAYS a fair and accurate estimate. ALWAYS any work done was always completed as estimated. Sometimes, as with all maintenance of this type, one can't always know what the problem is until diagnostic work is completed. Several times I had to leave the auto and get the estimate the next morning. One time they called me the next morning and told me the truck was ready and the charge was $0.00. I was a bit surprised due to the fact, if you look close enough you can always find something wrong with a car. Don't get me wrong, they will always let you know if they spot potential problems and not the kind they create. Kevin and crew will treat you right, one of the few auto repair shops where my wife and daughter are comfortable talking with. Don't think this is just another undeserved 5 star rating, this fine group of auto specialists deserve a 6+ rating if they had one. You should really trust me on this one. read more
