I'm not one to leave a bad review but my experience was anything but nice or enjoyable. Just hoping I can spare anyone from going through what I did. I'll start off by saying that I usually go to clackamas to get my pedicures but I figured I'd give this salon a try since it was near my home. When I arrived the lady/owner was nice. She had me choose my polish and then asked me to take a seat. She never let my nails soak and once she realized I had gel she started pulling off the polish with a nail clipper. I've always had my gel taken off with foil and acetone. She pulled at my nails so much she broke my nail big toe nail. When I told her It hurt she simply started to file them down. She never cut my cuticles, she left all my nails different sizes and my polish was left sloppy. I had more polish on my toes than my nails.. When I realized how BAD my nails looked I asked her if she could just remove the polish. She insisted I tell her why! So I proceeded to explain that my nails just weren't what I expected. She told me "tell me what you're looking for?? I've done nails for 18 years!!! No one can do a better job than me.." All I wanted was to get out of there but since she insisted so much I told her my polish wasn't neat and my nails weren't shaped right. She attempted to fix them. I let her try, paid and left. It was literally the worst pedicure I've ever had. From having her talk bad about clients during my pedicure to making my nails paper thin to the point that I currently have 3 broken toe nails.. read more

I went into Happy Nails today as I couldn't get an appointment with my regular salon downtown, and I had seriously procrastinated getting a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax for a wedding I am in this weekend. I was a little nervous going to a new place, especially because I couldn't find any reviews. Turns out this place has turned over owners a few times, but the current owner Lien has been there for 3 years and clearly loves her job and making her customers happy. Lien took care of me today and I was highly impressed with the service, her work and the price. I have a very relaxing pedicure and shellac manicure (with a complimentary beverage). It is probably the best Shellac manicure I've ever had. I told her about the wedding I was in this weekend and she helped me to chose a great color and took her time. My nails look amazingly perfect! She also took care of cleaning up my eyebrows and they also look fantastic. I will definitely go back to Happy Nails and am already looking forward to my next visit. The cost was about $10-15 dollars less than my normal salon and the work was just as good, if not better. Plus the location is more convenient to my home. I used to go to a different place not far from home, but started getting annoyed with the pressure of the up sell for services I really didn't want and overheard conversations clients really shouldn't hear (that's a story for another review). Happy Nails is close to home, the price is right for a mani/pedi, the staff are super sweet and friendly, and they do amazing nail art! This was the worst nail experience i've ever had in my life. Came in to get dipping powder done and left being completely harassed by the owner who took my picture without my consent and forcefully finished my nails after I expressed dissatisfaction with her work. When she started on my nails, I had dipping powder already on so she began by taking them off. Her process of taking them off included using the nail drill to break them down until they were gone, no nail polish remover, nothing. I was thrown off my that and my nails were burning from the power of the machine, but I trusted her as she assured me that she had 16 years of experience. About one hour into my visit, she now began to file my nails. I let her know that i wanted to keep the length and wanted a rounded square shape, she tried her best to get there but ended up making my nails shorter. It seemed there was a misunderstanding and she was confused by my request so I told her that it was fine because at that point there was no going back. This is always the trickiest part with nail artists, trying to communicate nail shape/length/etc so I decided to leave it alone because she was becoming frustrated. Once she saw that I was unhappy with my nail length and shape, her entire demeanor changed. She began rolling her eyes with her brush of nail polish she did, and forcefully putting my nails in the LED light. At this point I was extremely unhappy, began to cry and told her I did not want to continue with the service. She then threatened to call 911 if I left without paying. I left her finish my nails and paid her for her time because I was just eager to leave this experience at this point. As she was finishing up, she pulled out her phone and took pictures of me right in front of my face. When I asked her why she was taking pictures, she told me that she could take pictures of anyone if she wanted. I would never wish such an unpleasant and horrifying experience on anyone and have never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism in my life. Ms Lin may have a few skills due to her years of experience but she has an F in customer service and overall character. Her pride in her work causes her to disrespect customers when she feels they do not like her services. I am currently in the process of filing a complaint about my picture being taken against my will. I hope that no one has to through this as well. read more

Lynn is one of the best eyelash technicians I've ever had. She is honest with you when you ask for her opinion on what type of lashes you want. For example she will tell you if a lash style doesn't match your eye shape. I appreciated this because I don't want to look silly with extensions that don't match my eyes. I definitely want lashes that accentuate my eyes and make them bigger. Her work is amazing and my eyelash extensions stayed on for 4 weeks and still looked great. That's only because Whenever I pass by her salon it is always empty and Now i know why it's bad customer service! Been going to this place for a while only because its close by. I just had a "Facial" worst experience I have ever had. Not only was this not a facial, it was a joke. I called and made an appointment for a "Forever Young Facial" the day before, my appointment was at 12 and I was 15 minutes early and then was not seen until 12:30. Then, when she started up the steam machine it smelled disgusting, like mold or mildew, then after it went for a few minutes the smell dissapated. Not once was I asked if I had any allergies to anything, the type of skin I had or what my daily routine was. She put some sort of substance on my face that smelled like cucumber and basically washed my face for 10 minutes, put a mask on my face then put something else on all while slapping my face. WTF? The hot towels used to take off mask and whatever she put on my face smelled like mildew, and then it dawned on me that these are the towels they use on people feet! At the end of the appointment she then took out her OWN makeup and took it upon herself to put my eyebrows back on, I wanted to cry. Absolute terrible service within the first 2 min of being inside. I didn't like the presence of the 2 ladies working there. Not friendly at all. Didn't even greet us. Not even a smile. Lien is fantastic with eyebrows! I had my concerns of having my eyebrows waxed for all the time I had been in US. Once when I came to her salon, she noticed my eyebrows (not so good with my own attempts) and suggested me to let her shape my eyebrows .. seeing my apprehension she asked me to try it for once free. She did just a fantastic job, I got many compliments there after ;) and I have been going to her ever since for more than a year now!
