I love this place! Normally, my cat, Mitzi, cries her heart out when she is groomed, but Denise and Terry were so reassuring and patient with her that she did far better than I could have imagined! Denise even offered to break her cut into two trips, so Mitzi could have a less stressful experience. Denise and Terry really coddle the pets in their care. Denise and Terry are the most fabulous, caring, and well trained groomers/animal advocates I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. There is nowhere in the North Hills that grooms cats anymore. This couple took such amazing care of my usually difficult cat that by the time I picked her up she was purring and rolling over! They also have a wide range of animal products, and a wealth of knowledge to discuss each product with their customers. And everything is priced incredibly well! Absolutely impressed by the service for my pet, so much so that I signed up for a recurring package. The owners are friendly, the shop is spotless. They even gave my son popcorn and a bottle of water. My dog is older and they had the experience to deal with his issues. Usually after a nail trim he is very upset, but not this time. What a friendly place! The customer service really is what makes this place over the top sweet. From the second you call they are cheery and accomidating. My husky was SO HAPPY and clean when she was all done, even topped off with a little rainbow flower collar! My dane was too stubborn and huge to be seen there, but they were incredibly accommodating and gave me some great local business recommendations for him. Stay away! I waited over a month to have my long hair cat shaved. She is knotted from head to toe. They canceled the appointment that morning because the owner had a migraine. Not a problem, but when I rearranged my work schedule to bring my cat in the middle of a work day, they told me they COULD NOT take my cat because I was 15 mins late. No customer service and completely unprofessional! I will never go back there again. read more

The office lady was nasty, combative and unhelpful. All business!!!! Unfriendly from the first words spoken to me. My dog needs a letter from the vet stating he has a condition that he is unable to get shots. I accidentally brought a note from last March and not the one I just received an hour before when he had his check up. I asked if I could have the vet fax. She said No! I asked if she could take the letter I had and I would bring the new one when I picked him up. Nastily she said NO. She just repeated she needed the current one. I called home to try and see if it was there and I researched my car. Then a man came out saying we were 15 minutes late anyways so they couldn't do the service. They obviously didn't want my business. I am glad I didn't leave my dog there. If they treated me like this I do not trust they would be caring and gentle with my dog!!! I love Denise and Terry (the owners). They have been taking care of our dogs for over 4 years and every time we go there, it's like walking into a favorite family member's home. They are genuinely happy to see me and my dogs and are wonderful with the dogs. They manage to get the dogs taken care of with NO fussing from the dogs! I would not ever bring my pets here nor recommend this company business to anyone. I brought my 2 beautiful long haired cats in to get Lion Cuts. Denise and Terry are a husband and wife duo that groom pets. I was told they had the latest equipment for cat grooming and went based on a recommendation from a dog groomer. I picked up my cats. Paid $155.00 for the cats assuming all went well because neither mentioned anything about the grooming process other than they couldn't give my male cat a bath due to feisty behavior. When I arrived home my kids let the cats out of the carriers and we all were horrified by what we saw. They completely butchered both my cats and one of my cats has a deep shave indentation on her back. I called Denise and Terry looking for resolution to how they groomed my cats and they said my cats were moving around. Well animals do that and any experienced cat groomer knows what their getting into before they begin grooming cats. I've been having my cats groomed for over 15 years. Never have I ever seen such poor work and Denise nor Terry took responsibility nor offered a discount until I inquired about. Denise stated she spent time putting the work in and felt as though she was worthy of payment regardless of how she did. She even charged me for washing both cats and offered to give back the $15 for not being able to wash one of my cats. Any business that does not satisfy their customers should readily be willing to rectify the issue. They did not. They became very irate and argumentative and bothered that I thought they should give me my money back. I stated to them I could not give them a positive review nor recommend them to anyone else. Only after I stated anything about my review did they say they would give me back half of what I paid IF I signed a form mentioning I wouldn't discredit or badmouth them. This is BLACKMAIL. I called them back and stated that I was not signing a form. If they care about the nature of their business, their customers and their name. They will do what's right. Any good business owner would do that. They stated their not giving any money back unless I sign a form. I care too much about other people to only think of myself and sign a form to hide what they did. I will never take my animals there again and HIGHLY RECOMMEND that others don't either. Denise and Terry are not in a business because they love animals and want to satisfy their customers. I sense this business is struggling based on conversation. I also believe it is due to poor grooming and customer service. Before I hung up Terry tried to blame my male cat for scratching. Did he not realize my cats were declawed. Very shady business. They are only responsive and available due to lack of a strong, loyal customer base. read more

I brought my very filthy German shepherd here after she had broken through her electric fence and spent several hours running around our farm. She was mud from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail with everything in between including her ears caked with mud. She has been to other groomers but this was our first visit to Happy Tailz. My husband and I barely recognized her when they brought her out because she looked more beautiful and clean and well groomed than either of us had ever seen. Although 10 years old she was not only clean and clipped her fur had a silky shine she hasn't had since she was a puppy. We will definitely be taking her back. read more

Denise and Terry are amazing - they sincerely care about these animals, and they do everything they can to help their customers. I recently needed their help (needed to bring my dog Sophie in for boarding at the VERY last minute b/c of an emergency) and they were so gracious, kind, and compassionate. They went above and beyond to help me and Sophie - and it was such a weight that was lifted off of my shoulders, as I didn't have to worry that Sophie was ok. They kept me updated, and said that she could stay as long as needed. They also offered to stay open late, so that I could pick her up as soon as I was able. read more

We have a fiesty energetic to say the least jack russel mix rescue dog who is quite the handful when trying to trine his nails. When we first got him he was one, and tried trimming his nails and grinding them, but no matter how use to us he got and moldable he was, still fought for dear life to get away from nail trimming. We took him to every major chain place to get his nails done, but was quickly banned from all, after it took a harness, muzzle, four people's time and more than a few scratches along the way, but no bite thank god. We tried Denise and terry and told them how fiesty he was but they were willing to give it a try. Thank god they did, because four years later they still are trimming them. Even though it takes two of them and sometimes scratches, they continue to welcome our business at a really fair price. We were so concerned after first getting lucky that we would have to sedate him at vet every six months just for his nails. For being new dog owners we wasn't looking for something that high maintenance, no matter how much he warm your heart. But we probably would of, because he means that much to us, we might of afforded rent some months though, lol. Jk I'm not sure if a vet would even put him under every six months for nails, since it's not good for there health.
