Best donuts in Napa and some of the best I've ever had anywhere, period. Don't go here looking for trendy, over-the-top creations like triple Oreo fudgeberry monstrosity or whatever. These are classic donuts - just a good variety of old-fashioned styles done extremely well, baked to perfection with care. I've both dropped in for a couple of donuts for myself to satisfy a craving (which they most certainly will) and stopped by before work on several occasions to pick up a couple dozen to share. The quality is so consistent, and the pricing is super fair (barely more than chain shops). The only drawback is the cash-only policy, but they're clear about that, so I can't consider that a true negative. I'm sure it's part of what keeps their prices so low. They've added savory breakfast sandwiches to their menu served on croissants (but no banh mi on baguettes) It's cleaner, they keep their creamer in a reach-in fridge for customers (rather than perched atop ice cubes), it's much nicer, and their selection has improved. They make an excellent chocolate hazelnut, along with a cream-filled maple one (and I don't like maple bars, but I loved this) They're cash only. Lots of people came in getting dozens at a time. Came here one Monday morning and was pleasantly impressed. Very clean donut shop with a friendly staff. I was greeted right away and with a smile! I got a chocolate bar and a pink sprinkle donut. The donuts off a soft crisp on the edges and the donuts are WARM!! That's how you know they're fresh. I will say however, I was not a fan of the pink sprinkle. Happy's makes the best donuts in Napa hands down! I am a huge donut lover and when I travel I always check yelp to find the highest rated donut in town. I have yet to meet a donut better than Happy's. I am a purest and don't go for fancy donuts with crazy fillings and elaborate toppings- just give me a regular glazed or cake donut with sprinkles, please! I judge a doughnut shop by their glazed, raised donuts. Theirs are as good as anybody's. In fact they are all good, being as that is just about all they make. The shop is a little hole in the wall at Riverpark shopping center.. For you travelers it is just off the freeway on Imola. It is not fancy but it is clean. However they have a variety of sweeteners and whole milk, 2%, and half&half in the little fridge next to the counter - The bagels!! While I historically have not been a huge fan of the donut, I've had to feed a lot of people at 6AM this harvest and I've made the rounds (buying donuts or equivalent 7 days/week for 6 weeks). The girl at the counter with her back to me takes a pot of regular coffee that has been cooking down since God knows when and pours some in my cup and then finishes the cup with decaf. She returned the dregs pot to the hot plate for the next victim. She obviously didn't want to dump the dregs of the regular pot and mixed it with my decaf. We love supporting local and as the ONLY donut shop in Napa, we had to try them! This is definitely a little family owned place. Really simple, straightforward, no frills. It's an older shop, and shows it's age. We came late in the day, so the donut selection was quite limited (they were about to close in an hour, so we understood), but what we had was quite tasty and hit the spot! I also had a cup of their coffee, which could've been stronger and more robust, but hey, this is not a coffee house. Contrary to another reviewer's tip, they do have fresh creamer (not just the powder stuff) - it's located in the fridge adjacent to the coffee supplies at the bottom left corner. Service was nice and polite. They let us sit and enjoy our donuts and coffee for quite a while and never said a word to urge us to go since they were closing.
