I image the mesh was there to prevent the pizza from getting too soggy and help stay crisp and the plastic sheet was to prevent the sauce from coating the top of the box. It seemed to work and both pizzas came home hot and delicious despite the 25-30 minute car ride home during rush hour. I liked the thin crust and how they slice it into little squares. It is reminiscent of our favorite pizza at Kalahari. I enjoyed the deep dish very much, spinach is our topping of choice for all deep dish pizzas. While all prices seem high right now, it was more cost effective than Pizzapolopis for both the thin crust and the deep dish. Now to me, this is not really a competition between those two places. While they are both Chicago style deep dish, this place has a very distinct style. The crust is not as deep with not as many layers and the sauce is different, but I like them both but I liked the price here even better. Hope it stays this affordable. Same with the thin crust, the other place has a flakier crust to this place and this one was was more crust and less biscuit like. Personally I would like to come back. I am curious how their beef tastes. I love Portillo's and they have a few sandwiches that are very similar. I would love to try their ricotta on the thin pizza, it looks so good online. The employee who helped her was the same employee involved in a loud argument with a coworker during our previous visit. Rather than apologizing or trying to resolve the mistake, she insisted that was what was on the order and stated that remaking the sandwiches would be a loss for the business. My mom was then told she could purchase the correct sandwiches with only a 10% discount. What should have been a simple correction turned into an argumentative interaction. At this point, I can no longer view the first visit as a one-time issue. The food is excellent, but customer service has now been a problem on two separate visits.
