This place and the staff were a relaxed, hippy chic vibe - bright and cheerful. My eggs were cooked perfectly to order and the hash brown patties were like McDonald's but with more flavor and less grease. The sourdough toast was crispy and chewy, as you'd hope. The coffee was very good as well.

We stopped in for an easy breakfast on our way out of town and this place has now been added to our "must do" list when we're on that side of the state. Love the aesthetic of this place, it's the perfect amount of funky and fun. The food is incredible and portions are great - get the banana bread for the table! Make it fancy!

We enjoyed our meal here. The loaded banana bread was pretty decadent, but we both agreed that the bacon wouldn't have been necessary (and I'm a huge bacon fan, so that's saying something). We split the Benny and the sausage patty sandwich (can't remember the name of it). Both were good. A solid breakfast - a little pricier than I would have expected for most items, but in a resort-y town and with local ingredients, it wasn't out of line.

Adorable, cheery place! Very friendly with little ones, and the food was delicious! Not your basic biscuits and gravy or plain toast. Gravy was awesome, and blackberry (?) jam was house made...so good!

    Banana Bread (make it bougie)

This is the cutest little breakfast spot in Douglas! The decor inside is super fun and whimsical. There are several items on the menu that you can "make bougie," where they basically add extra fun toppings. I got the banana bread and opted for the bougie version which added crunchy peanut butter, bacon, and toasted marshmallows. While it was delicious this is definitely something you should get as a started for the whole table to share. The potato's as a side were delicious and perfectly crisp. The service was fast and friendly!

I also ordered two coconut macaroons, which weren't too sweet and hit the spot. This place is extremely crowded and busy so make sure you plan at least 30 minutes ahead. Wait time is long and I wouldn't recommend if you're too hungry. It was definitely very very hot day so the place was pretty stuffy, but I don't blame the deli itself, but fair warning. It's quite busy as the chef is award winning when I looked up her name online.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The woman who took our coffee order was rude, barely acknowledged us, and didn't seem interested in helping. We also waited much longer than expected for such a simple order. The biggest issue was the food. The egg sandwiches came with pickled red onions that were stringy, tough, and barely chewable. The onions completely ruined the sandwiches, and we ended up throwing both of them away after only a few bites. While I appreciated the kindness of the employee who took our sandwich order, the slow service, unfriendly interaction at the coffee counter, and disappointing food left us with an overall mediocre experience. I'm giving 3 stars because there was one bright spot with the friendly employee, but I don't think we'll be back.

Incredible food that I'm Gibbs dream about for a few more nights yet. I had the walleye, my fiancée had the pot pie (called something else on the menu; I forget exactly what). Our server was very kind, personable, and relaxed, and she offered us great recommendations, and boy am I glad I listened. I can't recommend this place enough. What I can say - The service was wonderful, my food was quite tasty, and the waiting area outside was absolutely delightful (I honestly would have preferred to dine there and in hindsight I should have expressed a preference to dine outside if I had known better). However, the driveway to enter the business parking lot has a HUGE pothole making it very hard nay impossible to navigate if there are any vehicles leaving the parking lot simultaneously. And the restaurant itself is adorable but VERY loud and cramped. I had my chair pushed in as far as I could comfortably do, but was constantly being bumped by servers and patrons trying to navigate to the single stall bathroom. When trying to leave there were dozens of cars parked on the side of the highway, blocking any visibility and making it hard to safely pull out of the driveway when time to leave. Now, the food was delightful and I found the mushrooms in particular a perfect blend of salty and woodsy, a light delicious addition to the meal. The sausage was exquisite and I could find myself craving them in the future. My rye bread was not as flavorful as I have come to expect when requesting rye bread and the slices were really quite thin. My wife also reported her hash was delicious. My friend enjoyed her croissant sandwich. And the soufflé pancake looked incredible, though arrived several minutes after the rest of the party's food so was scorching hot coming out of the oven while our food had cooled to room temperature. I would love to see the restaurant continue to grow out of these pains and I hope others can come and enjoy it, but I had a less than stellar experience and unfortunately despite the kind servers doing their best to make this a positive experience, I do not plan to return.

I mean, as good as advertised. Holy cow. One of our best meals in two trips to Michigan (Saugatuck…read moreand South Haven). All reservations were booked out for weeks when we had checked, but we showed up at opening and it sort of worked out. Let me explain.. A lot of other families had the same idea. Show up early, get in, get the kids fed early. It made for a line to check in at the host stand that looked concerning but it wasn't a crazy wait, ultimately. About 30 minutes. We still got what we wanted, a nice seat overlooking the water. One thing I'll say in that regard was there was a HUGE upfront rush, but then around 6:30 or so, the place had emptied out quite a bit. Might be useful knowledge if trying to time an entry here. ANYWAYS. The food. Phenomenal. So good. I stuck with standard fried chicken (ie not Nashville, not spicy) and it was amazing. Salty, well brined, flavorful. It even held up amazingly well cold out of the fridge the next day. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in years. The fries were insanely good as well. The greens (one of the side choices) were not my thing as they didn't have a lot of flavor. The only miss of the evening. My oldest enjoyed her burger, and my youngest thought the chicken was too spicy (read: peppery) but they've been uber picky lately so take that with a grain of salt (or pepper). Had a lovely cocktail here as well, called the Sunday Christian: Gin, Cocchi Americano, Bianco Vermouth, and orange bitters. I'm realizing I have failed you all but forgetting to mention the most glorious, buttery, flaky biscuit that comes with the fried chicken meal. It was a star of the show, and the only reason I'm just now mentioning it is that I ate it so quickly it disappeared into my memories. Wonderful place, and I'm sure we will go back next time in Saugatuck.

The quality of food was not good and hummus wrap and classic bagel sandwich were underwhelming. The wrap was 96% lettuce and then hummus and tomato's making up the rest of it. He then proceeded to take everyone else's food order, even though they sat after us, prior to come back to take ours. We finally ordered and they pizza came out. Couple points in the pizza, it was good mind you but each topping is $2.50. If I get bacon on a pizza I'm expecting more than a sparse sprinkling of bacon bits on my pizza for that amount. If you order ham on you pizza they provide a good amount but the pieces of game are pretty large and tend to come off as part of the initial bite. They have a food runner that is delivering the pizzas so we didn't interact with the waiter again, no check in, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks. Multiple attempts to flag him down went ignored, I finally grabbed my own to go box for the left overs. I was finally able to get his attention after he made five trips to fill up a water cooler so that we could pay. Food & Drinks great. Service was dreadful.

I can't say the food is earth shatteringly good or anything, but we all enjoyed it. It feels like a place where a little nostalgia plus the shine of vacation elevates it to me. We were sat immediately and even though I tend to hate high tops, the chairs were sturdy and comfortable.
