Every time that I get a haircut from him, he not only cuts my hair in a quality manner, but also remembers the small nuances of the specific haircut that I get. I appreciate his attention to detail and also the conversation we have while getting the haircut. Additionally, Harbor Barber is great. The fridge stocked with sodas and sparkling waters definitely is nice while waiting for the haircut and the ambiance is great. For a little over two years I have been getting my hair cut by Dakoda at Harbor Barber. I plan to continue going to Harbor Barber for Dakoda because he gives me the best haircuts I've ever had, great conversations, and a positive attitude. Dakoda's haircuts are superb because I have wavy hair that cowlicks in weird places. Every barber before Dakoda never cut my hair right so I could slick back my hair without it looking ridiculous. On the second cut, Dakoda had be locked in and has not let me down since. The atmosphere of the barber shop is also a highlight. The boys will hook you up with a beer or soda of your choice, no additional charge. Shop chairs are in the nap tier of comfort. There is also a clean waiting area if you arrive early. Another highlight of the shop is how they value their customer's time. In 30 minutes or less Dakoda can get me looking fresh and I never feel rushed. I drive to Harbor Barber from Long Beach but don't mind it because I know I am getting a great haircut and that the Harbor Barber crew won't waste my time. I have also never had Dakoda cancel on me; the only time my cut is later than scheduled is because the previous customer came late. Even still, I never wait more than five minutes. Walked in on a Thursday afternoon and was immediately greeted by a nice barber. Was offered a beverage (including beer) from their fridge before getting started. Got lucky and didn't have to wait. Got Sam and he cleaned my beard up very nicely. He even touched up my neckline with a warm shaving cream/straight razor. I was able to get an appointment on Thursday at noon. They are busy but I was able to call 90-minutes beforehand and got hooked up with Greg, the owner. They recently changed locations in this mall doubling their space. They now have about 10 chairs and the place is clean and shiny with some old vintage chairs and decor. Greg is a great guy and offered great conversation with a killer haircut. All clients and staff wore masks and they did a sincere job of keeping the place sanitized. Some of the barbers are taking cash only but Greg takes plastic. The barbers are independent contractors but they all follow the same price list. Beer and other beverages are free and waiting for you in the fridge. The place is pretty chill and I enjoyed my first haircut in this spot. read more
