Busy Sunday and went to brunch at Harbor Cafe. Signed up on their iPad. Staff was friendly and approachable. Offered water while we waited and pointed at the bar. We were able to get drinks while we waited. Plenty of benches to sit around. We waited 30 min to be seated. We sat outside on benches. Ambiance was fun and family friendly. The only set back would have been staff letting us know an umbrella was available to get as we sat in the sun at noon. We got a small corner of shade but we were a group 9. So 7 out of 9 were sitting in the sun. Drinks came out quick. Did take a little long to take our order but food came out quick and was yummy. Overall it was a nice time and good food. read more

Great service during a holiday weekend. The operations were quick and efficient in getting a table, our meal, and check-ins. Our waitress was great. The food is well proportioned and tasty. Harbor Café is known for limited parking and 1+ hour waits on weekends. The lot is tiny, but there's plenty of neighborhood street parking -- and honestly, that short walk back to the car helps you walk off the churro sugar rush. Insider tip: the best time to go is a weekday before 11. Service was quick, vibe was colorful and relaxed. Went mid morning for breakfast and it took longer to find a parking spot than get a table. Service was quick and friendly the whole time we were there. Definitely a laid back scene, not a bad people watching place. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a bar to help get your morning started. Ordered the huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. The rancheros is definitely plenty of food. The ranchero sauce was good and just the right amount. Rice and beans were also good. Liked that there was more then just two or three thin sliced avocado pieces. The breakfast burrito was huge but mostly hash browns and probably because of that it was on the dry side. It wasn't until I was almost done with the second half of the burrito that I came across the guacamole and sour cream. We were visiting from out of town and Harbor Cafe was close to our rental and we we were excited to see the high rated reviews. I tried a specialty cocktail and my husband, whom is on medication that restricts alcohol, ordered a nonalcoholic beer. He was brought a regular beer- thank goodness I caught this before he drank it. The waitress was apologetic and brought the correct beverage, but Ive thought a few times how dangerous the outcome could have been. Also - I don't think we should have been charged for the beer. Hands down one of the best breakfast places I have ever visited. It's very casual, beach aesthetic, and just plain fun. The place has an energetic vibe. There's both an indoor seating area and a large outdoor one as well. Both have bars. No reservations, so first come, first serve. I came on two busy weekend mornings and didn't wait long at all (at the most 5-10 minutes). They turn tables quickly. The menu has plentiful choices for both breakfast or lunch. For my first breakfast, I had the frittata. At first, it looked a little burned on top, but it was actually nicely charred a bit and ever so good. There are slices of avacado on top. It was chocked full of cheese. It came with some salsa and sour cream. Oh my goodness, I was in breakfast heaven and was so stuffed I couldn't finish the enormous portion. That's unheard of for me as I always clean the plate. It came with a scrumptious biscuit, flakey and perfectly made. On the other morning, I got the Nutella French Toast with strawberries on top. Do not miss this wonderful breakfast treat! It is exceptional. With maple syrup... YUM! I got a side order of Chicken Apple Sausage with it. Both mornings, I had orange juice, which was fresh and a great compliment to the meal. Prices might seem a bit high, but the quality and portions add to the value to justify it. What was amazing was the level of service. These folks truly have their act together, and although they scurry about they always are pleasant, smile, and professional. Kudos. Harbor cafe is a small place but with the cutest, most welcoming atmosphere. Half outdoor, half indoor, very beachy vibes, with plenty of seating, and great music. Food? The service was amazing, the waitress we had was sweet and patient with our large (and loud) group. Keep in mind that because it's a popular place, you will most likely have to wait - but I promise it's worth it! The parking lot is small, so I would recommend checking the neighborhoods nearby for parking. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, so it tasted delicious! They have a tiki bar in their patio where they serve alcoholic breakfast cocktail and coffee as well. We found Harbor Cafe for Brunch while staying in Santa Cruz for the night. It had pretty good reviews so we stopped in. We arrived and there was about a 20 minute wait for the table, so we stopped by a park across the street for a change of view while we waited for our text. We waited for around 20 minutes when we got there at around 1pm on a Saturday, this place is really popular so expect a line if you go earlier during breakfast hours. We got to seat outside at the corner, I really like how they decorated the restaurant, cute and classic. We ordered three dishes for two people - Frittata supreme, pancake with berries, and meaty omelette. The pancake was fluffy as expected, I personally prefer the meat omelette the most, the flavor was just about right, and the potato hash brown was nicely grilled. Back again, and only a 30 minute wait for this popular breakfast spot. It's located across the street from a park, which works perfectly if you have kids and a wait time. There's amazing outdoor seating with picnic benches and umbrellas, or nautical themed indoor seating. The wait staff are cheerful, wearing hoodies and sock caps, probably because it's gotta be cold so close to the Marina, and also keeping with the nautical theme! We had the special cinnamon swirl French toast with a Carmel sauce, veggie scramble with fruit, biscuits and gravy and a breakfast burrito with carnitas. The food was served quickly and everyone was really happy with their meals. The scramble had a variety of colorful and perfectly cooked veggies, the French toast was fun with cinnamon batter and Carmel sauce spiraled all over the plate. The biscuits were light and tall and fun to eat and their breakfast burritos was huge, and the only thing taken home as leftover. We came on a busy Sunday morning for brunch. The wait time was about 30 minutes. We sipped on a greyhound from the tiki bar while we waited. My wife raved about the Cali croissant. As for me, I highly recommend the Churro Waffle! It is ridiculously good! They should add patio umbrellas to offer shade in the outdoor seating area. Came here on a Friday brunch after a night camp at a nearby site. Parking here is a little small, but we were lucky to find parking in the lot. Dine-in at a table was full, but we had open seating at the bar. My friend ordered their Avocado Benedict and I ordered their Carnitas omelet. The food was super good. You have a choice of sourdough from a local source, or a pasty that was made fresh by them. I did get sourdough cause it was a crave of mines and it was very good. Hash browns were also crunchy and is made perfectly. It's not soggy, nor is it very crunchy, but just about right. I love that they were able to lightly give me cheese on my Carnitas Omelet, which made it even better to my liking. The meat is very easy to chew and it just melts in your mouth.
