In case no one knows it, Lowes is owned by a member of the Walton clan, who basically have done their best to wipe out quality shops of all kinds and import nearly all of their products from China. I actually found stuff in Ace made in a strange country called the U.S of A. There is some of the Chinese stuff in there, but if you ask for quality stuff they have it. Unlike the Kobalt junk I bought from Homless Depot which had the endearing feature of in one case having the bit part of a screw driver literally snap off. Looks nice, is basically junk. Cheers.

The water line between the street and my house sprung a leak that I discovered about 3PM in the…read moreafternoon. Grabbed my shovel and started following the water and about four foot down found the water line that was leaking. Over the next 24 hours I made four trips to HD and two trips to Lowes trying to get the fittings and pipe I need to repair it and finally cobbled something together about ten PM at night but it was a kludgy fix and only lasted for about 30 minutes before it sprang a leak too. The next morning I started searching on internet for one inch CPVC pipe which is what I needed to make a proper repair. Both Lowes and Home Depot websites said they had it but I was at one HD and two Lowes and none of them had ANY CPVC pipe. Internet said Handy Ace Hardware had some so I drove there. It is not a huge place (from the outside) but inside it is packed with tall shelving units, closely spaced, and together with the walls has much more stock and most importantly SELECTION than most HD or Lws!! Walked out of Handy Ace about 30 minutes later with a 10 foot length of 1" CVPC pipe and several right angle fittings and couplers and headed home to make the proper (and final) repair. This is a classic hardware store like the best ones I remember from years back before the big box stores forced most of them out of business. Yes, they are not cheap, but not horribly expensive either and had I gotten to Handy the evening before my water main leak ordeal would have been much shorter and less frustrating. That would have been work a LOT!!

I didn't have the flyer with me but stopped because it was close. When I went in the bird supplies weren't on sale. On the way out I looked for someone to ask about when it would happen. Couldn't find anyone but found two people sitting outside in the sun. I asked them and the lady told me no she didn't know when the sale began. I asked to see a sales flyer. Between chomps of gum smacking she said couldn't show me a flyer because they don't keep a copy! She said she didn't know about any sales!The other person just smiled and offered nothing. I go to this store less and less and this is one of the reasons why.

I don't have to do this on the weekend.. upon checkout with a dozen two by fours no one knew how to use an agricultural tax exempt card. so three people 15 minutes later one supervisor Deborah one manager Deonte. They finally had a trick the system cause none of them knew how to use an agricultural gate card tax exempt. -I think Deonte and he just turned and walked off not sorry for the inconvenience not have a nice day not you're welcome nothing. The young girl and the surprise Deborah's were still there. I paid for my purchase. I told them thank you wish them a nice day and neither one of them responded to me at all. I told him that they all need to work on the customer service skills and they just looked at me like a deer in headlights unbelievable how you can go from a registered girl to a supervisor to a floor manager and not one person can say thank you for your business respond to a thank you or even sorry for the convenience or wish you a nice day Rude, discourteous, and not 1 ounce of common sense or customer service skills I did not have to do this project this weekend. I would've left everything there at the register and walked out. I really do not patronize businesses that does not show appreciation to their customers.
