Yeah, the cashiers are rude and hate the sight of coupons to scan/key in, the door is tiny and manual opening, making it a pain to push a cart in etc etc etc...but this location has the best assortment of products when compared to the Santa Clara location. Do be careful to check the reviews before you buy, some products are of high quality, but many are absolute garbage to the point that it isn't worth it. Great customer service here. Was only in the store a couple of minutes before someone asked if I needed help (I think she was a manager or supervisor). I was only looking for a cheap screwdriver set (99 cents with coupon) and she was nice enough to go in back and bring out more since they were out of stock. Overall the store looks very well stocked, clean neat and organized. Its too bad they don't have any windows or a larger door in front. I'm used to the Santa Clara location with its all glass front and this place feels more like a warehouse. I would definitely come back though if I was in the area. read more

Great selection of tools BUT their ability to process the line of buyers is incredibly poor. Took us 20 minutes just to checkout.

The staffs here are irresponsible and cannot be trusted. I gave them two coupons for free items and checked out together with other items I bought in the same transaction. A few days later, I looked at the receipt and found out I was charged for one item (only one was free) but the cashier didn't tell me anything and got my coupon. I went back and the store manager Michael said the only thing he could do was returning the item and gave me back my money. When I asked him to give me back my coupon since it wasn't used, he told me to find another coupon.The item is just $4.99 but this is how they serve their customers? I always loved shopping at harbor freight. So when this store opened i was so happy because its close to myself. Overall the store is clean and organized. The store is well stocked. Whenever i go in a harbor freight i always buy more than what i planned on getting. I only gave 4 stars because some of the workers are slow and often backs up the cashier line. They should hire people that are mechanically incline and not just the rejects from the malls. read more

Before this store opened I always had the impression that Harbor Freight tools were cheap junk, but now I'm a believer. Great selection of tools and super prices and I've had no complaints with their quality. I've only had one return, but it was for a pretty big item and they took it back no questions asked. Came here for a quick xmas gift. I knew exactly what I was getting so I really didn't have time to wander around. But what I like about this place was it's huge variety of tools and home equipment. Considering the location of this place, I probably won't come here anytime soon, but I do want to come back here some time to check out what is really hiding in this store. Called this store today to check if they had items in stock. Jacob answered and I gave him the item and after 10 mins on hold he had the wrong item number. Finally he got the number corrected and they were out. I Asked if he could check other stores and he told me I should call each and every store. I asked again if he can check their systems as all the stores show one another's inventory. He said nope it's better you call the 5 plus stores in the Bay Area and check each one. That's bull and I've seen workers check and offer to call stores for me before, Jacob is just a bad apple. Been to other hf and never had such bad service. If he checked his store inventory the info should already be available to him to look. Such bad employeee. I bought the 44 inch tool box. The tool box is awesome but not as awesome as the employees. Huge thanks to the store manager John (and the other guy who's name I did not get). They worked with me to measure the back of my SUV and the box to make sure it fit. It was going to be a very tight fit so they offered to help me load it before I bought it to make sure it fit. Harbor Freight has all kinds of specialty tools. They are super inexpensive. I often go to harbor freight for tools that I need to finish jobs, but will not be used on a daily basis. The tools are not the greatest quality, but the price makes them reasonable for getting a job done. read more

I Just try to buy tools for work and was going to make a big purchase but they told me they were closed and to come back tomorrow morning. I can understand they want to go home for the day but the gentleman after me was able to go into the store. I'm not sure if I was profiled because a lady before was told they were closed as well but this other customer was still able to go in. I had two employees looking at me to confirm that I understood they were closed and not dare ask to still buy something. I usually buy my work tools here along with my employees but will rethink to advise my company to continue to do business with them based on my customer experience today. read more

This location differs from others from my experience. they are the most professional and helpful of all the stores of which I've patronized. I am NOT a mechanic or journeyman in a trade by profession but I do enjoy working with my hands and the staff here have been very accommodating as I stumble along , learning little by slow. I'd like to recommend my favorite employee for an accommodation in an attempt to reciprocate the time she has helped me. I have been shopping g HF for years now. I have never had to return any item from there until now. Years ago I purchased two torque wrenches from them. A 1/2 and 3/8 clickers. The 3/8's broke some teeth off the pawl sometime ago but I never took it back. The 1/2 just snapped some teeth and unfortunately I have a job that needs it. I'm doing research and I found out that thy both had lifetime warranties. Now I hate returning things but I went to do just that. I was in and out in 10 minuets. No questions, no worries. The employees didn't even look at me like I was stupid and they went out of their way to assist me. Now the quality of the tools. I have been sent to several schools to rebuild electric and air tools from IR, Airco. These held their calibration well over six months. They have been dropped and basically worked hard. So no complaints yes a snap on digital would be the bomb but let's compare prices. $20 ish each compared to $700-900 and if it breaks you sometimes have to chase a truck around compared to just driving to a store. As others have posted, this is the rudest Store & strange rules. I made a purchase on Memorial Day, but forgot my coupon. I belong to their mailings. She asked for my phone number, but I noticed she didn't give me my discount when I got to the door. I asked her about the transaction & she told me I had to go back to the end of the line to be waited on. After that wait, I was then told, if I got the coupon from home & brought it back, they would give me the discount up to 30 days after the transaction. When I returned today (2 days later) with the coupon, I was told it was not good any longer because it expired the day after my purchase. I argued that the day of the purchase the coupon was good. No way she said. It had to be a new coupon with a newer date. Buyer beware..I've turned them in to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Be very careful when purchasing any products from this company. I purchased a floor lift recently and when I opened it, a piece was broken. I brought the lift back just to do a simply exchange. When I did, the checker remembered me from the day before. She asked for my receipt, however I might have thrown it out. From there, all I heard was nothing could be done without a receipt, even just a simple exchange of a defective product. The 'asst mgr' was not helpful in the least and told me to come back in a few days and maybe they could find my receipt in their system. This store is a joke and NOT helpful in any way. They will not let you return anything without the original receipt, not even for store credit which would then force you to shop at this crappy store again. Completely stupid. I have been shopping at Harbor Freight for some years now and by far it blows the competition out of the water. With a variety of tools and more, it has become a one stop shop for me and my family. Either if I'm working on a project, camping, or buying toys Harbor Freight has you covered. With a great store, they have even better customer service. Everyone here treats you like top priority, no where else I have felt this, not even Home Depot which is right next door. The staff works with you until you have what you need, also very knowledgeable with their own product. The price here you can't get anywhere else! Every tool I purchased works great, even working to this day! I always recommend people to go to the Harbor Freight in San Jose on blossom hill because they are the biggest out of the two (Santa Clara, San Jose) and the staff has a warm inviting feel to the store. Shelves are stocked and product is easy to find, and if i can't find something they have more than enough people to assist! I highly recommend to everyone that shops for tools to come here! do not get me wrong, i do own lots of harbor freight tools, my garage is full of them. however, the problem is with the information they collect from all of us, address, phone number, etc. last month i change my phone number because i was tired to getting call from telemarketers, even though i am in the "do not call list" for the last month, i did not had a single telemarketer calling me. two days ago, i shopped at harbor freight, and i was ask for my phone number by the cashier, and she could not find me. i give my name, and sure enough i was found, with a different phone number. i give the cashier my new number, and she change it to be my **new number ** the very next day, i had 8 unsolicited telemarketers calls, and every day since, my phone does not stop ringing. Horrible customer service. Stevens Creek location was out of stock on the scanner I was looking for as well as the more expensive version. They were kind enough to look up other stores that had them in stock an this blossom hill location had 7 of them. I drove through San Jose traffic spending the better part of an hour getting to this location. Went to the rack and no scanners! Had them look it up, inventory must have been off. Decided to bite the bullet and buy the $80. version instead since I had a 20% off coupon code. I hand the code to the lady at the cash register and she asks me what to do with it. I'm a little perplexed and ask her to enter the code so I can get the discount. (I have done this at the stevens creek location a dozen times with no issue. They type in the code and apply the discount) She goes on a lengthy explanation as to how the paper sales flyer is their way of advertising. That folks seeing me walk in with the coupons advertises for them and asks me if that makes sense. I say no. I cut coupons. I don't walk around with whole sales flyers and wait until check out to tear a coupon out. I don't know anyone who does. She calls back for a manager. After several minutes, he confirms that they wont honor my coupon code, only paper coupons wit bar codes. I inform him that the folks at Stevens creek have done it for me dozens of times, as recently as last week. If they can do it, that means either this staff was incompetent or just being belligerent. I thanked them for wasting my time and left the store without purchasing what I'd now spent 2 hours on. Went home and ordered one off of ebay where I got an even lower price than if they had credited the coupon without all the hassle, traffic and lines of BS. read more
