8/21/2023 - In May of 2020 Brad's crew from Harbor Heating & Air replaced and installed two complete heating and A/C units (upstairs and downstairs). His price was reasonable and way below the Costco estimate by the way. Between August 10th and the 14th 2023 the upstairs A/C unit was making a strange noise and wasn't putting out the air. I looked at the outside unit and saw that the fan would start and then stop. I knew it wasn't working correctly so I called Harbor Heating & Air, expecting to get an appointment in about two weeks or so. They had one for Wednesday, August 16 which I booked. On the 16th, their lead technician Xavier Solis arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem, a faulty motor. Xavier said the parts, including the motor were covered under warranty for ten years. The problem was that their parts supplier did not have a motor and told Xavier it would take 187 days to get one. Xavier told me he would find one and replace the motor ASAP. Xavier called me Friday night, the 18th and said they over-nighted a motor and he would be over Saturday morning to install it. On Saturday morning Xavier called me and said he was on his way with the motor, which he installed in about 30 minutes. I only had to pay for a service call which was very reasonable. Back in 2020 a friend told me about Brad and his company and that was why I went with him. The Harbor Heating and Air employees are honest and fair and I would recommend them to anyone/everyone. Never was informed by Harbor but the Absolute employee was quite nice and said she didn't have the details but to call Absolute in the future and they will honor the Harbor contracts. read more

SCUMBAGS!! I met an inspector, Xavier, who was great. Performed inspection, charged $300, & was to be applied toward a $1400 part that I ordered. I follow up a week later, someone new is responding and being very coy about his identity. I asked about the part, and no response. Instead I'm getting questioned about my HVAC system, I said "youve already been here, this is bush league, what's going on"? They finally tell me their only good employee was fired, probably because he didn't fit the scumbag mold. The guy, who called himself Brad, said he would of ordered the part (even though it was suppose to be done last week!) but he's sad, he's sad because I criticized him for not ordering it last week. He wanted a little pat on the bottom, and a participation trophy. Poor guy just wanted to be celebrated for being completely useless. He refused to honor my $300 credit. Scumbag, scumbag, scumbag. STAY AWAY. People like this don't deserve the right to be in business. If you're in the mood to get very angry, then call these guys, otherwise call anyone else. BEWARE!!! I believed in Brad, the owner of Harbor, after purchasing 2 AC units from him in 3/2021for $15k & then 2 furnaces in 11/2022 for another $15k. We became Club Members right away paying $180 annually to make sure our HVAC systems were well taken care of and, if we had any issues, we would receive quick service and repairs. Unfortunately, Brad sold us furnaces that have known issues with the flame sensors and our brand new units keep shutting down unexpectedly. We had Harbor do their normal maintenance on 12/18/23 and 2 weeks later one furnace just stopped working (we had no heat). Despite having the membership which should get us 24/7 service, we were told that no one could help us on NYE weekend. We had to get emergency service from another HVAC co. Then again on 2/11/24, our other furnace shut down unexpectedly for the same flame sensor issue. No heat again! Brad again could not get to us this time wanting to leave us with no heat for 2 days! DO NOT be stupid like me and trust Brad and his family owned business. I thought I was helping a small business and they, in turn, would treat us as their customers well. In addition, I know I paid more to purchase and install through Harbor rather than a bigger, more well known co., but I believed they would treat their customers more like family. Boy was I wrong! My lesson learned and hopefully a warning to all customers deciding on new HVAC systems. read more

Xavier came out 1st to do an inspection on my nonfunctioning gas furnace. He diagnosed the problem as a cracked heat exchanger & then he did a carbon monoxide test & WHOA, it was off the charts. He may have literally saved our lives if I had got the old clunker going myself. As the weather was changing from fair to rainy & cold, they offered a next day install of a new Goodman furnace. The 2 install fellows arrived early the next day & completed the job in about 7hrs. Took the old one out, did the install of a new, efficient-quiet furnace. They were great, worked through lunch, were friendly & professional & cleaned up perfectly. They did a fantastic job & my wife & myself couldn't be happier. John the sales person worked with me on the price & it came with a 10 year warranty & a membership that includes 2x yearly check-ups & tweaking if required. Xavier was amazing, he walked me through how the furnace and AC work together, and what problems we had that were preventing it from working its best. It's a pretty old unit so I was concerned they'd just want to replace the whole thing, but Xavier gave it a thorough cleaning and reassembled it all. I originally hired Harbor HVAC based on their fantastic yelp reviews, but unfortunately I have to share my negative experience. Xavier, the technician, came out to diagnose a new AC that wasn't functioning properly and was very nice and thorough. I was impressed with his dedication so I hired them even though I was a bit shocked at the price in the quote. Xavier came back to fix the issue he diagnosed, however, that same afternoon, we noticed that the AC was still not cooling. We took temperature measurements and sent the pictures to Xavier, explaining that the AC still wasn't working. Instead of coming back to make the AC work, he suggested that the initial installer come out and work on the ducting. I was shocked that I was charged over $2,100 for an incomplete job... the bottom line was that the AC still didn't work (the same day!)-- either he diagnosed wrongly in the beginning, or just never finished what he promised. As a business owner myself, I would not charge a client unless I complete the job and fulfill my promise. I emailed Harbor 3 separate times with photos of the temperature readings and asked them to please remedy the situation. All emails went unanswered, so I ended up having to hire another company to fix the AC in the meantime. I finally received a response from Harbor 12 days later. Their office person told me I would be able to get a refund but they needed to come out to do a "warranty check" as a formality... when Xavier came out again, the AC was working (because the other company fixed it), so he called his boss Brad, the owner, and I was able to speak with him via phone. I was hoping he would make this right by at least giving a partial refund -- I understand I would be responsible for the labor costs -- but unfortunately, Brad wasn't even willing to compromise on that part. Both Brad and Xavier kept going back and forth with me on why they don't owe me a refund, and I am shocked at the lack of accountability, professionalism, and human decency. In the end, I paid over $2,100 to Harbor to be left with a broken AC and was still forced to hire another company to fix the issue. Unethical business practice is an understatement. read more

I called at 9:30pm planning to leave a message and was pleasantly surprised when Brad answered my call. I explained my problem and he asked several questions. He felt it was something that he could fit into his Saturday schedule and we agreed on a time. He called the next morning when he was on his way and arrived a few minutes later. He pulled the defective part, showed me why he felt it was bad and went to pick up a replacement. He returned promptly, replaced the part then gave the compressor a good cleaning. Unit started right up and has been blowing cold since. I was impressed by Brads professionalism and his willingness to help out on a Saturday. He was good to work with on this issue and I will have him estimate some other A/C work we are considering. WOW- OUTSTANDING SERVICE - WOW We couldn't be more satisfied. Our heating system was blowing air conditioned cold air when set to heat. It was 52 degrees outside and 47 degrees inside! We were cold. Turns out that our new heat and air conditioning system was incorrectly wired by the company that installed it. I went to Yelp to find a good company to fix it. These guys did an amazing job on the AC system in my home. When the owner, Brad, came out to do a quote for us, we found that the way my house is configured we were not able to do a standard duct system, but Brad was quick with another solution, a ductless system like those prevalent in Europe. They fit us in really quick for the install and were done with the job in less than they had estimated. Also came out super quick when we ran into a small glitch with one of the units, but it was a quick fix and not a big deal. Brad is super nice and knowledgeable, and his crew is friendly and great workers.
