My only issue I've had have been other tenants harassing me for leaving positive reviews and speaking highly of the campus. Now, does the community have issues, of course. That is, as I stated in the last review, not exclusive to Camden alone. The staff here fight continuously to make this a great community and I'm thankful for that. Stick around long enough and this becomes a home. Ignore the negative nancys, live your own experience and give this place a shot. Plus, walking distance to great bars, restaurants and shopping??! Why not!

Later I found out that there were live ones and it took 3 exterminator visits to resolve. 2. Your mailbox is not secure. I had several items stolen (one being a license plate for my brand new vehicle). 3. Half of the entrances and exits to the parking structure do not work. Then they fix them a few weeks later only for then to break again shortly after. 5. Get ready to be woken up by your neighbors burning food and it setting off the fire alarm at 1 in the morning. 6. Maintenance either seems understaffed or negligent. Or both. Simple maintenance requests get "completed" without the issue being resolved. I'll stop there I guess. I could go on but for the price - there isn't a whole lot of bang for your buck.

The TVC property management company is truly a den of miserable incompetence, staffed by soulless goons who answer only to their privatized corporate overlords. They don't ever answer the phone or email, willfully ignore your many pleas for maintenance, don't possess even basic knowledge about the property, rip holes in the wall and don't fix them, show up unannounced for major exterior painting work and tape off your entire house so you have no access or windows... we fought and fought with them, and were only successful after going to the LA Times and local legislators for help. We also befriended the local TVC maintenance guys who were our actual neighbors, and they were able to come assist when TVC itself couldn't be bothered. We also heard from these wonderful guys that TVC was as miserable an employer as they were a property manager. The other houses are rundown and dilapidated, but yet your rent will regularly raise, and raise significantly, while TVC brags about keeping rent "under market rates." Yeah, I'd rather pay $200 more a month to not deal with your nonsense though. You'll be charged for "community amenities" like a pool, community center, playground, and dog park, which are either always closed or in disgusting disrepair to the point of being dangerous for children and pets. Once they receive your military housing allotment, you'll never hear from them again. Oh wait, until they send you double-charged invoices because they're so incompetent they can't even do their property billing correctly. Privatized military housing is predatory and nefarious and plays on the constant influx of new military renters who are unaware how miserable, deceitful and dishonest Tierra Vista is. TVC has no motivation to provide anything but the absolute worst customer service because they know if you're so unhappy you leave, another unwitting family will replace you the next month. Save yourself the time, energy and misery and rent ANYWHERE else. Don't give TVC a dime. They don't deserve it.

As one of the longest-standing residents, it's incredibly disappointing to see how far this place has declined. Over the years, there have been multiple management changes, and each one seems worse than the last. The current staff is unresponsive and dismissive especially Kevin, who makes it very clear that resident concerns are not a priority, particularly during lease renewals. Getting a callback can take hours, if it happens at all. When I first moved in, this property felt like luxury living. There was valet service, community events like poolside taco nights, clean carpets, well-maintained amenities, and friendly, professional security. That version of this building no longer exists. Now, the carpets are consistently filthy, amenities are neglected, and key features like the grills and TVs have been broken for over a year with no urgency to fix them. Valet is gone, events have disappeared, and the current security presence often feels unprofessional and absent. There have also been increasing issues with car break-ins. Access to the building has been a long-term issue that management has failed to resolve. The parking gate has been consistently broken over the years, and the call box has also been nonfunctional for years, making it unnecessarily difficult for guests to enter. I was even told to have my own mother "walk around" to the front entrance late at night instead of being provided a proper solution. Many of my friends actively avoid visiting because parking is so inconvenient and poorly managed. The rent increases are another major issue. Every year, they push the maximum increase (10%), forcing residents into uncomfortable negotiations just to stay. On top of that, parking, once included is now an additional monthly fee that has steadily increased from $25 to $35. It feels like residents are being charged more while receiving significantly less. The only consistent positive has been the maintenance team they are reliable, hardworking, and deserve recognition. Unfortunately, they are the exception in an otherwise poorly managed property. The parking structure and dumpster areas are also consistently filled with trash. Items are left sitting for days unless residents take the initiative to call and request cleanup, which should not be necessary at a property at this price point I would not recommend moving here. What was once a great place to live has significantly declined and no longer justifies the cost or the frustration.
