Fun little spot if you're looking for a quick bite that's not too over the top. It's a straight to the point restaurant, you order at the cashier, and servers will bring it out to you where you sit. The food is ok, nothing with that WOW factor. Calamari were good, crispy and light. The lobster rolls were ok, it had a few large pieces right on-top. The frozen margaritas and pina coladas are strong! However I wish there were more drink options, they have a few canned drinks, and a sangria on the tap. It's an open concept restaurant inside, it's a very casual feel.

Maine Lobster Roll, buffalo calamari, side of french fries

DJ's Clam Shack has that tourist chain restaurant feel. The food is average and so is the service. We ordered buffalo calamari and it was just calamari tossed in Frank's Red Hot and it made the calamari soggy. The Lobster Roll was average- the bread almost had more flavor than the lobster. We liked the location

The lobster was ok. Definitely well portioned. The service was fairly quick. I preferred the hot and we tried both which were served on a sweet potato roll nicely toasted on the outside. The place was situated on the side of a fairly busy road by the marinas on New York Avenue off shore road. They have tables outside and lots of beer options. For $24 quality was fair. So, If you're looking for a quick lobster roll fix and some fried fish this could be a good stop.

Decor is an afterthought. Tables and condiment shakers were dirty. We ordered the Lobster Mac, Ipswich, Fish and Chips, and Lobster Bisque. The Lobster Bisque had way too much flour added, giving it the texture and thickness of mashed potato. The Ipswich was sandy and greasy. Clearly wasn't cleaned properly. The cheese in the Lobster Mac had no flavor. I think they used the same soup mix they used for the chowder, for the Lobster Mac. Meal was saved by the Fish and Chips, which was actually very good. However the restaurant doesn't carry malt vinegar, which is foolish. Would not come back.

East Northport & Huntington have DJ's Clam Shack the food is the same consistently fresh and good, as well as the service. The difference between the two is the outside. Better view in Huntington. So check my earlier post, Ciao for Now

"Yes, my friends, YES! This is the kind of down to earth, chill seafood spot you want to see on Long Island! Fantastic food, reasonable prices, great local beer and wine selection all in a comfortable atmosphere." I am quoting myself from my original review of their Wantagh location I wrote back in 2019 because I am happy that the owners... gods that be.. or whoever are expanding to new locations here in Huntington and also in East Northport. A notable feat during a pandemic, but I think goes to show what a winning concept they have going on here. This location is even larger than the Wantagh spot with more parking as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly (even though I startled them slightly when I used a seemingly less used rear side entrance - haha sorry!). The food is consistently as good as the Wantagh location - generously stuffed lobster rolls on delicious toasted hot dog bun. I tried the shrimp scampi roll that came stuffed with a half a dozen large perfectly seasoned shrimp. Steamed little neck clams are always a great sharable item with that awesome sauce it comes in (protip: dip your sandwich in the sauce!). I find everything on their menu fantastic - I haven't found a clunker dish yet. All killer no filler. Fountain soda and a large can/bottle beer and wine selection is available. I noticed a couple of draft options also. I would have liked to have seen some Dogfish Head Sea Quench Ale - although not exactly a local option it is favorite of mine. Since I was cheerleader for them in my Wantagh review I will go further here and make a recommendation that hopefully the owners will consider - Come to Queens and open a location in the Rockaways! I'll meet ya there!

Overall I thought DJs was just ok. Not sure if I would go back, especially for what everything cost. Vibe: The vibe is casual, and almost a bit cold. We sat outside, which was nice, but it is on a busy road. Free parking in the back is a plus. Service: This was the highlight. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Food: The food in my opinion was hit and miss. I didn't think there was anything so fabulous that I had to go back and have. The onion rings were the best part and I'd give them a solid 4. ($6.00) The chipotle sauce was a nice compliment to the rings. I'd give the Ipswich Clams basket a 3. ($29.00) The breading on the clams was nice and light, but we had several clams with sand grit. The french fries were ok, a bit cold, bland and not crispy. The coleslaw was the best part of the basket. And finally I'd give the Cold Lobster Roll a 3 as well.($24.00) It was a bit heavy on the mayonnaise and I felt was loaded with the rubbery lobster claw tips. Was it horrible, no. Expensive, yes. Would I go back, probably not.

How lazy. Can't even cut the claws? No comparison to the Nassau location. Waste of money. Especially when you're chomping on shell pieces

Talk about horrible management. Placed an order by phone and took over half an hour for far from decent food. fried clams that had breading that was wet and soggy while the clams were inedible. Chewier than a rubber band. Husband got the lobster roll. Which was pathetic. All it was, was a claw. Location in Nassau is far superior. Much better quality food. And fabulous service. 1 star for the great additional parking lot.

Hours say open but store is closed!!!!

My husband drove 20 minutes each way to get fish and chips and the sign says closed until spring....but the website and yelp show they are open..

We were in the neighborhood after chartering a boat for water sports. There were plenty of outside and inside dining. We decided to sit outside since it was such a beautiful day. First, you have to go to the register to order your food and it will come out to you. We started with the homemade sangria and homemade New England Clam Chowder. The NE clam chowder was yummy and creamy. The red sangria wasn't too sweet, but I probably won't get again since I like my sangria more sweeter and fruitier. I had the Maine Lobster Roll-cold with homemade coleslaw and my husband had the grilled garlic shrimp roll with coleslaw. The lobster were big pieces and it was very yummy. My husband said that the sauce was all on the bottom with the roll and not enough on the shrimp. I would recommend stopping here for some quick food and the NE clam chowder.

Love this little shack! Big fan of their lobster roll, clams and everything in between! I only always get a lobster roll everytime I come here but it truly never disappoints! No matter what season! Who doesn't want a lobster roll with the view of the Huntington Bay! Highly recommend

Incredibly expensive for mediocre at best. Two small drinks were $31. Enough said. I could only imagine what a lobster roll would cost.

This place really is just average and $40 for a lobster role is insane, look elsewhere for seafood.

We started with frozen margaritas which were cold, refreshing, and a solid way to kick things off. The ground beef nachos came loaded with queso and guac, and the extra chips on the side made it easy to share. The birria tacos with the dipping sauce were one of the highlights, juicy and full of flavor. The smash burger taco was a fun twist and worked surprisingly well. We also tried a few different tacos including a shrimp steak taco with crispy onions and chimichurri crema, and a blackened shrimp taco with mango pico which added a nice contrast. The taco of the month, a blackened sirloin steak taco with horseradish crema and corn pico de gallo, brought something a little different to the table. We finished with a churro funnel cake topped with cinnamon sauce which was warm and a great dessert to share. Overall, a solid spot for tacos with a lot of variety and creative options. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

This place is a small deli that has a few tables inside where you can sit down and eat if you want. I've been here twice and took my order to go both times. The menu has a couple of different types of tacos, including lengua, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, chorizo, chicken. They also have tortas, burritos, and breakfast platters. All tacos were listed for $2.75 except for lengua, which was $3. I think this place is cash only. I've tried the lengua, carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo tacos. The tacos are beautifully simple and really solid for the most part. They all came out hot, with double tortillas, onion, cilantro. They give you a generous bag of radishes, lime, and hot sauce, which is great. The only one I wasn't a huge fan of was the chorizo, as the meat was cut up while still being in the casing, instead of being taken out of the casing, which I much prefer. The meats were also fairly dry, so this probably isn't the place for you if you want something ultra juicy. However, the lengua was an exception as it was very tender and moist. With this said, I still very much enjoyed all of the tacos I had. The best thing about this place is that they're charging very reasonable prices at present. There are a lot of taco places which charge $6 or more per taco, which is absurd in my opinion. So I'm glad this place exists and will happily continue to patronize this place as long as prices remain reasonable. Cheers.

All in all, a good burrito with obviously fresh ingredients. However, I found the rice to be pretty plain jane as well as the carne asada. I never salt my food, but I needed to hit this thing with some. I just wish that both the rice and steak were better seasoned so it wouldn't come to this. Their table sauces were great though, my favorite of the 3 had to be the habanero hot sauce, it is sufficiently spicy. As for the quesadilla with al pastor, it was delicious. The sweet and salty pineapple pork went perfectly with the melted cheese and crema, the lettuce helped lessen the weight of it too. Good mexican eats at friendly prices. I would order something else next time though... I may fancy a torta. *Strong 3.5/5
