I stopped by here for an early dinner. Great location, walking distance to the docks. I sat outside since the weather was nice. I ordered a watermelon mule (very good and refreshing). I also ordered samosas (they were kind of dry in my opinion) but the sauce was so good! And for my entree I got the Rogan Josh with garlic butter naan. The server let me pick my spice level which was great. I enjoyed my time dining here!
Harbor Tandoor is a good spot if you are craving Indian food although some dishes were definitely stronger than others. The mango martini ($12) was good. It had vodka, Prosecco, mango, and passionfruit puree. It had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness, though it was not particularly sparkling from the Prosecco. The paneer chili ($9) was decent but not quite what I expected. The paneer was tossed with garlic, tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions, but it was softer and less crispy than I was hoping for. The veg jhol momo ($18) was interesting.... The menu mentions a Szechuan pepper based soup, but I did not get any Szechuan pepper flavor at all. Instead, the broth had a creamy, almost tahini-like taste. The momos themselves were fine, but the broth was not what I was expecting. The mixed veg jalfrezi ($16) was okay. It had a good amount of mixed vegetables in a tomato based sauce with green chilies, ginger, and onions. We ordered it very spicy but it came out sweeter than I preferred. The Goan fish curry ($19) was excellent. The tilapia was tender and the tomato coconut curry was flavorful, rich, and comforting. It had a nice balance of spice and creaminess. The garlic naan ($4) was soft, fluffy, and had a good amount of garlic and herbs. The beers were good too. The Taj Mahal lager was light and easy to drink, while the Haywards 5000 had a stronger, maltier flavor. Overall, service was good. Our server, Aro, was attentive. They have an outdoor seating area. Ambiance was upscale without the prices. They are located by a parking garage but there is also street parking available as well.
You can smell the flavor from a block away. Great location and service. I took a star off because the white rice smelled like a kitchen sponge that needs to be changed.
WOW! You guys were right. This has been on my list for a while after some other Yelpers recommended it and it did not disappoint. Food came out FAST, like 45 min for our whole meal. We got the Kale Chaat, amazing, still talking about it. Crispy kale, yogurt w/ mint, sweet and savory and crispy. Omg, you gotta get it, I want it again already! For dinner I got the chicken dumplings (momo) and my husband got the tandoori chicken. It was actually too much food! The momo was delish but the tandoori chicken was the star entree for sure. It came with a side of masala sauce which was so tasty to dip in. Everything was actually pretty reasonably priced as well. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside - lots of guests wore their coats! They had a ton of to go orders ready - I'd definitely do that in the future, but it is nice inside! One of my new favorite spots for sure, I'll be back.
Chicken steam Momo- never had it before but LOVED IT! They recommended it so I went for it! Vindaloo chicken - a tad spicer than I asked but hey can't get everything de-spiced and still keep that flavor- and yes VERY flavorful! Garlic naan- never a bad choice and this one was spot on! Mango lasso- my new addiction! Smooth rich delicious! The atmosphere is as nice it is a bit of a "to go" place for the college crowd but hey I feel young! Definitely hits the spot if you are craving something spiced and delicious!
This was walking distance from our hotel and we decided to check it out for dinner one night. We were trying to gauge spice levels and also quality of food. We asked for medium spice but both dishes were very mild and both curries tasted the same. Very disappointing in the taste. The rice came with and naan was good. I would say it's good to eat if you want Indian food, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try and get this. Of course, this is also takeout rather than sitting in the restaurant. And the restaurant was packed, so I figure maybe dining in experience with freshly served food would be better. Overall good Indian food, spices could use some work, and pricing was reasonable.
Amazing Indian food with a classy/cozy vibe and attentive service. Made a reservation for the 4th of July and had a great time! We ordered a blueberry margarita and a virgin pina colada, which was frozen to our delight. We tried the samosas which were pretty spicy but the flavor was incredible. We also shared some butter chicken, which was enough for me and my friend to have one heaping serving, as well as more to take home as leftovers. It was pretty warm in the restaurant (because Baltimore was going through a huge heatwave), but they had a fan pointed directly at us, which helped a bit. The music, fan, and general noise from the kitchen made the restaurant pretty loud, I felt like I had to speak up for my friend to hear me even though we were sitting right next to each other. Overall, the price was great for the amount of food we got, vibes were cozy during a huge thunderstorm, and service was very friendly. I will definitely be back!
I think this is the best Indian restaurant in the city, and my Indian friends recommend this place to me as well. I can't believe I have never posted a review for this place. I've been getting Harbour tandoor since about 2023. I've only ever gotten takeout and delivery from them never sat inside, until today! it's a cute interior. It is located right on Caroline Street and Whole Foods so it's convenient. I love getting takeout from them, especially in the winter. Dining in was an experience that was totally different. Their takeout is excellent and the service has always been phenomenal but dining in on a Monday. We happen to go the day that the temperature dropped about 30° and it was the busiest I had ever seen it. I'm a big fan of their curries, and today I tried the goat curry because the waiter recommended it to me. I thought the spice level could've been a little bit more spicy but I did order medium and they're non-just hit right but honestly the star of the show here is the dahi Puri. I've had it takeout and the assembly at home is a different experience. It's best eaten fresh! The cruise is also come in this really amazing cute ladle pot and it just makes an experience really delightful. My friend has gotten catering from them and has raved about the service. Honestly, we are so lucky that we have this amazing Indian restaurant in the city. It's not Michelin level, but it's a nice slightly elevated family owned business. That really makes me feel good after I eat their food. Best in class in the city for sure!
Visiting this restaurant always feels like visiting family! We've been coming faithfully for several years, and the service has remained consistently excellent every single time. Roshan is absolutely the best, always welcoming and attentive. And Sudeep is spectacular as well and does an outstanding job managing!! On top of that, the food is incredible. Hands down the best Indian food in Baltimore City, no debate.
Harbor Tandoor seems to be dependent on your waiter. Today was a poor meal. I asked for spicy curry chicken, no spice to be found. The rice was cold, and the garlic naan was room temperature. This meal was for someone else and they just put it together for my benefit. The chicken was hot but if you want a hot meal, go at a different time. On any other day, this would've been a better experience. Maybe on Mondays they take a day off on paying attention and serving hot meals. Harbor Tandoor you let me down, I may come back in 2027.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant! We've now been a few times. Each time was delicious. The service is always on point. The waiters are friendly. We've sat inside and out on the patio and both are nice. One time we sat by a couple who said they traveled from Connecticut just to have dinner here.
This was a really good Nepalese spot. We enjoyed sharing the pot of masala, and the goat curry came in a very large portion. The saag paneer was really good too - very flavorful and generous with the paneer pieces. It was on the more expensive size, but the portions were really big. The service was friendly, and it was fun overhearing servers speaking to customers in Nepalese.The space was really large, accommodating lots of large parties, so it works well for groups or families. Overall, Harbor Tandoor delivers solid, authentic Nepalese food with substantial portions in a spacious, welcoming environment.
This place has some good Indian food to satisfy your cravings. I'm basic and got the butter chicken, garlic naan, a mango lassi and it did not disappoint. It can get pretty busy inside the restaurant but overall the service was good.

WOW. What an experience! My friend and I wanted to try Indian in the area, but both of us were here for a conference and unfamiliar with the options. We weren't sure which Indian restaurant was going to be good so we went strictly by the reviews. Based on the reviews and location we decided to try out Harbor Tandoor. I have to say this experience was definitely intense... when we arrived we were taken aback at the noise and the crowd, and were not sure if we would even get seated but luckily they found a table for us quickly. We figured though on the positive side that if this place was this packed, it must be good! They were definitely understaffed and overwhelmed with the crowd, which I'm presuming was unexpected as Monday nights are supposed to be slow for them. We arrived around 7:50 and were served our food by 9pm. It's understandable that they were understaffed, but we had very poor service throughout. No one took our order for the longest time and the manager had to come over and asked if we were taken care of yet. When we said no we put in our order and he told us that the biryani that we ordered would take an extra 25 minutes and that he would bring out a plate of papadum while we waited. He was also helpful in recommending what we should order - - it was just the two of us but he said that the biryani was made for 3 to 4 people! But convinced us that we should order it anyway along with the salmon tikka that we were eyeing. He also advised that we didn't need to order the extra vegetable that we were considering (channa, eggplant or lentils on the sides menu) as that would be too much food. Nearly 45 minutes went by and we didn't have a morsel of food on our table! No one checked in with us either. We finally got our food and the presentation was beautiful and the food itself delicious! I think of myself as an Indian food snob and the food was really amazing. That helped take the sting of waiting away. After we got our food, still no one checked in with us. I had to wave down the waiters for extra raita, and when that didn't work I just had to go up to the bar to ask myself. When we were finished we asked another waiter, who we had to wave down of course, that we were ready to leave and to bring boxes and a check. We still waited and waited and then the manager came by and was really kind, profusely apologizing for the lack of service. Made a huge difference and he did acknowledge the fact that he never gave us our papadum and that things were so delayed that he was going to give us papadum on the house. I said that we were staying in a hotel and that we don't need to take that back because it would just be too much food. He insisted to give us papadum to go though! That was really nice and he brought us our to go boxes and said he would be back with a check. We had to wait even longer and finally just gave up and went up to the counter to tell him that we just couldn't wait any longer and had to go! He gave us our drinks on the house (2 masala teas and an iced tea) and was really nice. His customer oriented demeanor made a huge difference and pushed me to go from 4 1/2 stars to five. The food itself was absolutely delicious and worth going back for. We left much later than we wanted to but we're really satisfied by the meal. But still we left with no promised papadum, lol. read more

I have been looking for good Indian food in Baltimore city since I moved and this place delivered it for sure. While their menu is limited the quality of the food is amazing. They were able to create the correct spice level and provide delicious food. The restaurant is clean and does have a bar in the back. It's definitely not an overly fancy place. There is a cute wall in the back if you want to take an Instagram picture where the name of the location is written. We were seated promptly with our reservation. On a weeknight it was about half full. I tried to order the momos but they were out of any vegetarian ones and the chicken ones were ok. I would not order them again here. But the Indian food selections were fantastic. We ordered all our dishes at the same time so all the food would come out at the same time but it did take about 3 hours for our whole 1 course dinner. But staff was very friendly and accommodating with food intolerances. It was great that we could split and pay the bill online. I will definitely be going back read more
If you're anything like me and love Indian food, please make your way to Harbor Tandoor. There are pay to park spots in the next block but you should pull up today. We landed right around 3:30pm and we're the only people there but after 30-40 minutes, people started to trickle in. We decided to hang out a little longer to catch happy hour. They had a few deals and few dollars off of some of the appetizers. I'm glad we waited so that we could try a few more dishes and drinks. I tried the chicken Mo Mo and although I'm not a huge dumpling fan, I thoroughly enjoyed them. The samosas had a perfect crunch and flavor. My chicken tikka Marsala was the perfect amount of sweet with creamy consistency. I ate way too much naan but it was worth it. Service was great to go along with amazing food. I would recommend not sitting next to the windows. It was a little drafty. Thankfully I was drinking and was able to keep plenty warm. Otherwise, perfect experience. read more

It would not be right if I did not update this review by stating that the butter chicken is absolutely transformative. It is the best Indian food I have ever put in my mouth. Get the butter chicken, you will not regret it- thank me later. All my friends who have tried it have had their minds blown. The smoky chicken and sweet creamy cashew sauce is out of this world. read more
Yummy Indian dinner! The indoor is classy and comfortable but we chose to sit on the patio to enjoy the last of the nice weather :) Started with the mango lassi. It's good, but on the thicker side and more "yogurty" than others I've had. Both the garlic naan and samosas were so delicious! The sauces that came with the samosas were so good we dipped our naan in it as well. Aloo gobi and shahi paneer were both good. You can adjust the spice level if you're not into spicy food! I took my leftovers home and they even gave me extra packaged basmati rice to go as well! Overall, good food and good service! Will definitely be back! read more

This is the best Indian food in fells point/harbor east area. They opened just a few months ago and have made their mark on the area! We had a number of entrees including the garlic naan, pesto paneer, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and more. Everyone LOVED their food. I'm still thinking about it. Location is perfect too in harbor east. They have outdoor seating too that will be glorious once the weather cools down. My new first choice for Indian food! Check it out! read more

Harbor Tandoor has a modern trendy atmosphere while preparing classic dishes with big flavors. Wait times between starters and main dishes was not long. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the different dishes. Becareful when asked about spiciness level, a 10...IS A TEN! The restaurant also has a bar which served our favorite drinks quickly and accurately. We'll definitely be back and will bring friends. read more

A friend of mine recommended this newer Indian spot a couple months ago & I finally found the time to stop by! My ultimate determination for good Indian cuisine is the Butter Chicken. There's an unsung balance between the tender chicken, delectable creamy tomato sauce and the spices that complement. Theirs topped it all! ( and they increased the spice level for me ) The Garlic Naan bread was very fresh and definitely suffices for two. I saved room for dessert; my waiter recommended the popular option, Gulab Jamun. Very delectable & light, Harbor Tandoors unique touch is their Flora Tea Collection, in which I absolutely fell in love with the. I wasn't able to get around to their curated cocktails but there's more for next time! 10/10 + Service is amazing, timely & the staff is very friendly/ knowledgeable of the menu. read more

The service was impeccable! Sandeep was impeccable!!! Harbor Tandoor gave us authentic flavor, mouth watering, phenomenal food, and drinks! Kudos to all the staff, from our waiter Sandeep who greeted us with a welcoming smile even its 20mins before closing of the kitchen. The chef who made our food fresh and delicious! They mean business! This restaurant is awesome! We came here 9:10 pm after being tired walking around the city , and also looking for a nice restaurants that can still accommodate us. Most restaurants kitchen are closed an hour before they really close and has lazy employees. Thanks to them, we came across the Harbor Tandoor that has good ambiance and a very nice restaurant. They gave us the experience and food that we are craving for last night. We will definitely come back! Highly recommended ! read more

Oh. My. God. Harbor Tandoor stands alone--THE BEST. We've traveled, lived all over the world...NEVER had better anywhere. From the exquisite cocktails, expertly prepared by our host, Sudeep, to the perfectly seasoned tandoor chicken, the light, lovely garlic naan, the Veggie MoMo (like Japanese gyoza, but MUCH better), to the Coconut Lentil Soup...all simply The Best. We came in on a very busy night and the staff was quick to get us seated at the bar. The service was great and all of the staff were so friendly. We ordered the dumplings in a creamy tikka masala sauce and they were delicious! Our main dishes were paneer tikka masala and chicken vindaloo served with basmati rice. They portions were large and the food was so flavorful. Some of the best Indian dishes I have had. Hands down the best Indian cuisine in Baltimore. The restaurant is convenient located in Fells Point with nearby parking. The ambiance inside is nice, clean, and great for a Friday date night. We will 100% be back. read more

We wanted to support this new business and check our the changes it made. The decor was simple but very nicely done. The lighting was nice for a relaxing dinner experience. We sat down right away. We ordered drinks. Since they were new they didn't have a few things for cocktails. So I got a vodka and water. It came with a cute circle ice ball. Loved that. The food came out quickly and our service was top notch! The samosa chat was good. We are pescatarian saw they had salmon tikka masala. We wanted shrimp and they substituted no problem. The masala was very creamy and spot on for spice levels for us. We also got the naan which was very tasty. This is going to be in our rotation for sure. Must try! read more

Delicious food with a lot of options. Cozy atmosphere and excellent service! We got the Samosa Chaat and wings to start; both very flavorful. Then had the lamb Tandoori (served sizzling), chicken Biryani (huge portion!), paneer tiki masala, and vegan kofta with garlic naan. All delicious and would get again, but also so many other amazing options to try! Definitely get a reservation and there is a bar if you have to wait. Street parking and garage are nearby. read more

We chose to eat here after walking around Fell's Point and not wanting the mostly bar style food in that area. They were very nice and were able to seat us immediately. They did have a few tables reserved. I felt that the food was a little on the pricey side for Indian and for the serving sizes. With the interior and service, I think they also try to be on the slightly upscale side. The food was great. The garlic naan was of course addicting. I wish an order of naan came with dinner but it's all extra. This is one of the first Indian places I've tried in the area so I can't do much of a comparison yet. read more
Loved this place so much fun we had a blast. The waiters were lovely and very accommodating to our child. They took our party of 8 in last minute on a Saturday. We ordered old fashioned and mango martini for drinks and they were quite strong. I wish the mango martini and more fresh and light feel, rather it was a little viscous. For apps we the Momos (vegetarian) - the sauce did not compliment the momos well but it definitely an interesting twist. The kale chaat, dahi puri and cauliflower were all wonderful. I didn't even get to take pictures of the main course because we inhaled it - we ordered the saag paneer, shahi paneer and kofta ( all spicy) and they all came out to perfection - they managed to preserve the taste of the food and made the food very spicy which was a hard skill to acquire when it comes to Indian food. They have a limited kids menu which is still great (have not seen this at Indian restaurant which is a nice bonus). They did accidentally mess up our bill but all mistakes are forgiven for this awesome restaurant. I am not from the area but I would definitely recommend it to other people if they are ! read more

THE BEST. Service is efficient, kind and so enthusiastic about the food. The food comes out so hot you have to pause before digging in. We have never had a bad meal and now order takeout from here regularly. The kale chaat and the veggie pakora (not pictured) are divine and the Rogan josh is the best I've ever had. The medium spice is the perfect amount for someone who wants a little heat but still wants to taste everything. read more

We visited for the first time tonight on the recommendation of a friend. We started with the Samosa Chaat. Fresh, colorful, and so flavorful. I had the pesto paneer tikka and my husband had the butter chicken. Everything was delicious. Service was attentive, professional, and friendly. Thanks Roshan! Total was $51.94. read more

Lovely ambiance, great service, and delicious food with excellent spice level. Our waiter checked in on us regularly and added more rice and naan as needed. We will strongly recommend Harbor Tandoor and would likely visit again soon. read more

I can easily say this is the best restaurant I have been to in Baltimore so far. Even going for lunch on a random Monday the service was impeccable and the food was bar-none. We shared the cauliflower bizuli, punjabi samosa, and samosa chaat for appetizers, which came out fast and were so delicious. I especially loved the blend of flavors in the samosa chaat, it was the perfect savory dish with refreshing yogurt and chutneys on top. For the main event, I had the shahi paneer bowl, and this... this was just incredible. I could eat an entire vat of just the sauce. We also had some naan, and my partner had the chicken tikka masala. Both were also perfect. Paired with masala chai and a mango lassi, my sweet tooth was satisfied as well. If you haven't tried Harbor Tandoor make this your next stop!!! read more

I have yet to settle on a favorite Indian spot in the city, so I decided to give this place a try. Not much to say about the ambiance on a Monday night here, pretty basic, but the servers were very friendly, and attentive. We ordered the butter naan, vegetable momo, saag paneer, and lamb and everything was hot and tasty. For drinks we got the mango lassi and guava mock tail and they were delish! The standout dishes to me were the butter naan, guava explosion, and the saag paneer. I would go back for these. read more
