It is not often we have visited a restaurant and found both the service and the food to be 5 stars. This was our last night on the road before traveling home tomorrow and it was the best meal of our 7 day road trip! Everything from the bread, salad, and drinks to both of our entrees was spot on. Great place on the Lake! Food was good and service was better. Would recommend if you find yourself in the area.

This was my second visit. Lunch. Moderately busy. Reception was quick and all smiles. View was beautiful. Service was a bit slow but she seemed to be stretched across quite a few tables. Meals came before appetizer. I felt the price to value was quite poor. Four TINY crab cakes, smaller than an average meatball for $19.99 - definitely not worth the price. Salmon dip was a smallish scoop with an odd assortment of grated carrot and chopped onion added to the plate which looked more like a decoration than a functional part of the dish, the six saltine crackers also a miss - again not worth the price and tasted more cream cheese and canned salmon. The Asian salad had mostly spinach with minimal additions. The fried fish sandwiches that went to the next table were huge and if fried fish is your thing that may be the popular option. This is a really nice restaurant and I would love to give more stars but this was my last experience. We were celebrating my birthday here as I I love the ambiance. At the table next to us was a family that allowed their children to be loud and run around the dining room. Multiple times the toddler walked across the table. Since these people clearly don't know how to behave in a nice restaurant, I did expect management to ask them to control their children. They did not. This obnoxious family ruined everyone's meal around them as I heard a variety of complaints. read more

We have been coming here a ling time and I must say they have change magnificently for the worse. They changed their bread to something inedible. They removed the lunch menu on the weekends. Now you only get 1 side with your meal and jave to pay extra for another. Used to come with It. Significant increases in price. We have spent thousands here and always enjoyed it. One of my favorite restaurants in Winter Haven. Nice building, gorgeous waterfront location and views. Everything is good but this week I had fish tacos -- yummy. Our server was Katherine and she was quick, efficient and funny. My only complaint is the noise level inside when the restaurant is busy. We came to this restaurant as a family of four. I ordered the blackened grouper dinner, and it was $31.49. The menu stated that the grouper would be an 8 to 9 ounce fillet, although I doubt it weighed any more than 3 ounces. I received a tiny little piece of fish. The grouper sandwich was the same way, tiny piece of fish on a big roll. I mentioned this to the hostess, who stated she would let the manager know. No one came to the table, and nothing was done about the small portions of the meal. I was astonished that they could charge that much money for such a small amount of grouper. And then, after communicating that we did not get what was stated on the menu,, the manager never came to the table, and nothing was done about our meal. Very poor customer service from this restaurant. We will not be back . After visiting from out of state, we were seriously looking forward to a an amazing grouper dinner. The breading was a perfect crunch to accompany the soft white fish called swai. Very disappointed in our recent dining experience. Stopped for a late lunch/early dinner on Saturday 4/6. Sea skins (appetizer of potato skins) were cold, appear to have been sitting for a while. Oysters on the half shell were the highlight of the meal, fresh and briny. My cup of clam chowder was served lukewarm and my salmon Caesar Salad was way over dressed, a gloppy mess. Mother-in-law had crab cake dinner which server highly recommended. She said crab cake had "loads of filler." Service was good but quality for price just isn't there for me. read more

Outside is absolutely beautiful. Inside is noisy and sound carries causing everyone to yell to talk at your own table. Food was okay, but pricy for what you get and how it tastes. Why did I wait so long to eat here?! The food was great and the portions are just as good! Had no idea a side salad was so big! Delicious too! The Harborside fish sandwich is bigger than any picture shows. My husband couldn't eat it all! My fish & shrimp, same thing. Ate half the fish and 2 shrimp! Our group of 4 visited the Harborside restaurant for lunch after touring the chain of lakes in Winter Haven Florida. It was a Thursday in July and the restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived at noon, but quickly filled-up. The food was definitely above-average and everyone enjoyed their meal. I opted for a burger off the lunch menu, which was cooked perfectly. The young lady who served us was very attentive and checked on us regularly. I tend to people-watch at restaurants when I'm not shoving food in my mouth. I noticed the rest of the wait staff also kept moving and was attentive to their tables. Even the hostess was hustling, clearing tables when she wasn't seating guests. This place definitely appeared to be well-managed and was staffed with excellent wait staff. Given all the positive experience, I really didn't pay too close attention to the cost of our meal. I would absolutely return to Harborside. read more

I am sure glad that I found this place in Winter Haven. It is truly a gem! We had great service, an excellent view, incredible food, and they were able to get us in and out quickly so we could get to an appointment! Before I say anything more, if you are nearby, this is the place to check out! Be sure to get an entree with the in house specialty salad - don't change it one bit. It comes with an excellent light dressing and tomatoes/olives, but wow. It's so refreshing for a hot summer Florida day. I almost wish I only had ordered it! (There is also excellent bread; it's perfect how it comes out, no need to add the butter.) Lastly, be sure to get the appetizer with crab/shrimp on top of the potato skin. While there can alway be more cheese on a potato skin, these were fantastic. Such an interesting combination of fish/potato/bacon/cheese which was delectable. You won't be sorry if you start with this then grab the salad and the bread. OH...and the entrees. They were excellent too. :) read more

Overall, an unfortunately disappointing experience. my wife and I came here for lunch today. Drove from Orlando to check out a new area and something different. We ordered the Lobster Bites (at MP) and they were over cooked and a bit hard & rubbery. For mains, I had the stuffed flounder and my wife had the baked scallops. The founder was okay but quite greasy from all the butter. My wife's scallops, we're just disappointing. Not seasoned well, the panko was wet and not crispy at. Visually, it just didn't look appetizing either. This a shame because the views are great and the actual restaurant is a nice looking place. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the ambiance. I will say, the garlic beard was nice and the beer selection is good, with reasonably priced. read more

Awesome little seafood place. It is on a lake with a great view. We were passing though on our way to orlando. Service was spot on! The bathrooms get a special mention because they have foot activated doors so you don't have to touch anything after you wash your hands! I had a caesar salad and fish tacos. While in the Winterhaven area for work, my husband, son, and I were looking for a few places to have dinner while we were in the area. We chose Harborside because it looked like it was situated right on the ocean and served oysters and seafood. Definitely our cup of tea. We arrived late on a Wednesday evening and we had made a reservation earlier. We were escorted to the back and they let us choose our table because we had a baby. This restaurant experience fell below our expectations. The wine list was not impressive, the menu was good, but the food wasn't spectacular, it was night so you couldn't even really tell that you were on the water, the service was OK, but I did not feel as though this experience lived up to the reviews I had read online. I ordered the halibut special that came with an Olive Garden like salad. Except they serve you, you can't serve yourself. We had some oysters to start out with from Maine, those were good. The bread was OK, but I wish it was served warm. It would probably be a good environment for a group of friends, or maybe on game day, for a younger crowd. read more

Fish was very tasty and my sandwich(bun) had a piece of grilled fish that was huge. It hung out on either end about an inch or so. A meal in itself.
