UPDATE! It seems like Corporate has read the reviews because the experience has changed DRASTICALLY at this location in the last few weeks. The restaurant actually felt clean for the first time, the floors weren't sticky, the table tops looked like they'd been wiped down, trash wasn't over flowing. The normally grumpy workers were actually friendly and explained I could get a better deal if I ordered this vs. that. Hardees in Ashland Virginia has terrible service. We sat in the drive thru for about 10 minutes, the line never moved. I got out & went inside. There 6 people who had already ordered standing waiting for their food. There was no one in line to order. I watched a middle aged black lady stand around pulling receipts looking to see which orders were ready. She did this for about 5 minutes. Finally she turned to the counter & placed a sandwich on someone's tray. She finally acknowledged me, to say she'd be right with me. Then she turned back looked at more receipts & stood just waiting for another sandwich to complete his order. She could have taken my order & a couple more in the time she just waiting for his order. I wrote a very critical review of this Hardee's about a year ago (see below). I've got to say thins Hardee's has improved dramatically!! The service has improved, the dining room is much cleaner, and the food is more consistent. Great job Hardee's!!! Let me start by saying that I LOVE Hardee's and I rarely leave negative reviews. However, this might be the most poorly run Hardee's in America. First, there's one lady who works there who is unethical and has purposely overcharged us on two occasions. When we've pointed it out and asked for a refund (of the difference, not a full refund) she doesn't apologize for the error, but instead acts incredibly inconvenienced that we have the audacity to ask to pay the correct price. Second, they chronically understaff on the weekends during breakfast hours. If you want breakfast via the drive through on the weekend, expect to wait in line between 15 and 40 minutes. In Ashland, this fast food joint is aptly dubbed. Why? Because my breakfast sausage, egg and cheese biscuit was hard @ Hard-ees. The egg & sausage was pretty good, but I almost chipped a tooth on the biscuit. Left that little sucker under the heat lamp waaaayyy too long! The service was very pleasant, so stars and kudos to the cheerful girl at window. My 1/2 sweet 1/2 unsweet tea was freshly brewed and refreshing! I typically love Hardee's biscuits, but they need some quality control. I'll try them again and see if they've upped their game! read more

No personnel at the front counter, waited a long time while yelling "Hello" had to walk out. Restaurant was filthy.

We don't live close to Hardee's but love their breakfast so we try to stop when we can while driving through. This time we stopped for dinner. The frisco burger tasted like it was sitting in the back for a week. The chicken sandwich had a tiny amount of mayo. The fries were cold. The cheeseburger bun was hard. Gave Hardees a couple of trys. Shakes are great! Restaurant appears clean. Two recent lunch orders were wrong. Not even the food I ordered. No rush, not busy. Staff with an attitude of "could care less" and I was keeping her from something else she wanted to do. Her Manager did the same thing to me today. Took my order, switched it to a different sandwich. When she called my order I didn't respond. She kept after me to respond and I told her I didn't order that sandwich. She rolled her eyes to the same staff member who tried to give me the wrong order a couple of days ago. Then she attempted to way overcharge me for the wrong sandwich. Stopped for a quick meal.on our way home to Fredericksburg. The lady that took our order was a little tude, but that seems to be a norm in fast food service. Food was hot and served quick..the floors were sticky and the condiments were messy. We ate and left. No other customers were in the restaurant. read more

Stop to get a shake. There are two cars in the parking lot. The employee was in such a rush to get rid of me my shake was practically thrown at me. The cup was half full of the most subpar shake I have ever had at a Hardee's. Actually it the only bad shake I've had at Hardee's. The rest of the cup was full of whip topping. read more

Service was great BUT could not eat my meal because there was a very long hair baked into my biscuit. Very disgusted and disappointed.

First stop on our travels from Maryland to Florida and it was horrible with very ignorant and rude employees. Family goes in I order first get a 14 medium then go the bathroom. Come back out we wait 15 minutes for 4 meals. Employee places meal on counter and names them. She had a 4 which is a burger I wanted 14 chicken. I told her I ordered 14 she in a rude tone you did not order and pay for a 14. I said I wanted a 14 she again says well you did not pay for it. She snatched to bag off the counter puts it on the back counter and tells the cook to make chicken sandwich. She was going to make me pay a difference because she rang it wrong but I think realized the wrong meal was more money so she stopped. Then tells me we don't have chicken. REALLY?!! I think she lied because she was pissed for her wrong doing. I said just give me the wrong meal so it tore the extra burger off m the parking lot. As I walked out the door she was running her mouth. I am from New York, and always am on the look out for a Hardee's when we road trip. Yes it's fast food and by no means a gourmet meal, but we (family) like Hardee's. This particular Hardee's was pretty good service wise. Everyone nice, polite, food was good and food delivered to our table fast. Everyone was sweet and accommodating to the kids. Hubby was disappointed he missed the Southern type breakfast sandwich he usually gets from Hardee's. He got the spicy chicken strips. Not impressed with it. I make better wings at home. Not hot at all. Oh well, it is fast food, so cannot be too disappointed. Burgers were pretty good and fries were nice and hot. One drawback is that one of the stalls in the ladies had no tissue. The lady using next door (gray hair, twin set, sensible shoes, I am talking to you) did not ask me to pass any to her and she left the stall and the bathroom without washing hands. Hardee's is one of my favorite fast food restaurants (actually, basically the only fast food place I like), and since there isn't one close to where I live, I always make sure to stop by when we drive to the beach. This one totally sucked. The slowest service imaginable. How freakin long does it take to make 4 orders of 3 piece chicken tenders? If you're at this Hardees, the answer is apparently 25 minutes. All the other food had been done forever so of course was cold by the time all 12 tiny little chicken tenders came out. It was 12:30 on a Sunday so basically prime lunch eating time, and I really couldn't understand what could possibly have made it take that long. Like the other reviews say, it's SLOW. Mornings? Not so bad. You can probably get by with popping in for some breakfast on the way to work. Allow about 15 minutes for that endeavor. Lunch or dinner? You'll be here for a minimum 30 minutes before the food appears. It's been this way for the better part of two decades, so I wouldn't hold on to much hope you'll "get lucky" and suddenly have a good experience. Sadly, most Hardee's locations in the Richmond area are like this, so you'll have better luck at McDonald's. read more

Literally served us half milkshakes. Mine had whipped cream so it the bottom part was 3/4s full but still only half full of milkshake. Complained, staff did nothing but remarked to each other, where I could hear them, that I was rude and didn't say thank you. I could eat anywhere when I choose a fast food restaurant. However, I try to order from this Hardee's in Ashland when I do eat fast food. They have old school customer skills and I'm saying this as a good thing. It makes me feel good that my patronage is appreciated. I have absolutely no complaints what-so-ever. read more
