I really like Hardee's. It's one of my pregnancy cravings and I just have to say The seasoning on the fries is always good. They are very accommodating about lettuce wrapping my burger. There is a young black gentleman, younger white lady & a young black lady doing the best they can. They were stressed which is understandable but they are still killing it with a smile & kindness! I ordered 1/4 lb bacon double cheeseburger, onion rings and soda Burger had 1 slice of bacon, 1 piece of cheese and onion rings were cold and dry. First of all. It is a fast food restaurant so service and quality always vary. Believe me. I travel all over the country and have learned that it doesn't matter where you go now days. One day can be excellent and the very next day totally awful, that goes for the food and the service. This location is no different. Most of the staff here are great and 95% of the time I get very good food and service but there is still that 5% factor when it can be terrible. The only real complaint I have about Hardees in general is the recent menu changes. They changed the names of some of their burgers and they seem to be different. I liked the previous menu better. The other Hardees complaint I have is some of their prices are way too high for what you get. (Ex. Big roast beef sandwich, way too expensive for what you get). Final thoughts. Majorly overpriced & definitely NOT at all worth what they charge. I got a so called jumbo chili dog w/ cheese; it was a regular sized hot dog with something the consistency of refried beans, a few sprinkles of cheese, and no onions (which I requested). My son got a vanilla milkshake the only size they sell cost $3+ & it was not completely done & runny, not much thicker than milk. (Any other fast food places wouldn't have served it.) This place needs a new franchise owner it has been going down for years. Orders are frequently wrong and drive thru is so slow you can make your own in less time that it takes. Today I was in drive thru and had 3 cars ahead of me...it took 30 mins to get a TEA.. I asked the girl "are you that busy"? She said yes it's crazy. As I was driving out I looked in...3 people were in there. I parked and walked in and said THIS is what you call busy? She said...yeah it is to me and walked to the back. Since I live in Lancaster and we don't have any Hardee's around, I'm always excited to have to stop here when I'm in my old hometown of Middletown, PA. The people that work here are so much friendlier than other fast food chains. My favorite is the Big Hot Ham & Cheese because no other fast food place has such a thing. I can't believe the reviews saying how great and fast this place was. I've tried Hardee's in Middletown 3 different times with my husband and each time gets progressively worse. It's the slowest service, two people are trying to take your order at once over the drive thru speaker, they are staffed by younger kids who are laughing through the speakers and carrying out personal conversations instead of talking to you. I've order the same double bacon meal from this location twice. It's closer to my job than the other locations, so on day I don't pack I like to treat myself. I tried this Hardee's back in November of last year. It was horrible. I could eat the burger but that was it. I couldn't even finish my drink. Everything just tasted so bad. Today I accidentally order from this Hardees again. I ordered on a app and had meant to get it from another location. I was mad when I saw the mistake but it was my mistake. I sat down to eat the food. And when I opened the bag, the smell that left the bag was sickening. The smell is all over the sandwich boxes. It's like a cross between food and chemicals. The smell of the food is chemically too. I am not even going to try it. I will be tossing this out. I downloaded the Yelp app. And I wanted to warn everyone to stay away from this place.
