We loved Jimmy's in the Pier in Galveston, Tx!!! Right on the ocean. Great view, casual dining, huge portions, friendly service. The gumbo was delicious with sausage, shrimp and rice. The fried shrimp were huge! Enough that we should have just shared a meal. It was pricey $$ but worth it. Great view. Indoor and outdoor dining. Check out the photos from our table inside.

Over the ocean restaurant. Fun store and then you go upstairs for open and outside seating perfect for sunset watching. We shared a cheese steak and fries with ice cold beer. Service is spot on and best views.

What a great experience on the pier. It reminded me of Florida. We were greeted quickly and served within 15 minutes. The food was yummy and the portions were very large. I really liked my husband's smash burger! (See pics) A cool bonus was that showing our lunch receipt in the gift shop gave us free passage to walk on the fishing pier (normal price of $5.00). (See pic and video). It was a beautiful view and the best time.

Great location for great views. Nice service. The food and drinks were good. The pretzel bites and beer cheese were very good. A definite must when in Galveston and you can walk in the pier after.

We went yesterday night, 6pm, 3 kids 2 adults. 1 hour wait, no problem. We just walked down to the water for a bit until they called AND texted. Which ! We came back up and they sat us either inside or out by the water. We chose by the water. Everyone said the sodas were kind of terrible, my drinks were eh. But the FOOD OMG. We got the sampler platter thing with bacon wrapped shrimp, fried pickles, pretzel bites, and French fries. Was cleaned. The clam chowder was the best I have ever had. Mom and I split the Texas fish and chips. I hadn't ever had fried flounder before, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to go back to catfish or haddock. Kids tore up their fried shrimp and chicken fingers. Teenage brother ate every bit of his giant fried shrimp platter. My only issue was when they left, and I was by myself to pay, the seagulls nearly took me out Service was great. No issues. Will be back!

This business is basically three things, a restaurant upstairs, a coffee shop and gift shop downstairs and a long fishing pier behind them both. The gift shop also sells souvenirs, cold drinks and fishing lures to name a few. Depending on the weather, the pier itself can have dozens and dozens of people fishing on it along with the ever watching hopeful pelican. Access to the pier is $15 per day and you can bring your own rod and real or rent them here and pick up some frozen bait. You can book your private party here, and they even have a live cam that you can tune into which you'll see in the photos below. As for the restaurant, plenty of yelpers have covered that so you can check out their reviews. Informative photos and videos below.

Decent food with a great view. They don't have a ton of gluten free options. I was excited to try the bacon wrapped shrimp but it's fried in the flyer with breaded stuff so it's not GF. I ended up getting their pesto salad with shrimp. It was a pretty good salad. The staff were friendly. The best part of the experience is the view you get from just about every table, it's right on the pier. It wasn't my first choice but it was walking distance so I gave it a shot. Not bad, I would go there again.

We enjoyed our visit to Jimmy's on the Pier. We were there on a Thursday night so it wasn't crowded at all. Our service was great! Server was very attentive. We sat outside on the deck and had a great view of the Gulf. Food was good too! We had pretzel bites and bacon wrapped shrimp. Things to note: It costs $5 to walk the pier, but it's free with your paid restaurant receipt. You can also park on the street for free after 6pm.

Jimmy's is a consistent staple in Galveston. I love taking my out of town family for the great views and service! I got the tuna tostada and it was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Our server was so funny too, attentive but not over bearing. Also bonus points for the clean bathroom's.

So, we were hanging out with friends after an amazing day at the beach and they chose the place to eat. The view of the gulf that day was just stunning--definitely the highlight of the whole experience. Even though I've been around Galveston for over 40 years, I'd never tried Jimmy's before. Getting there was a hassle, though, because it's part of this super popular fishing pier and parking was 2-3 blocks away. When we finally got to the restaurant, we had to navigate through a gift shop packed with tourist stuff, then climb up two flights of these really narrow stairs. The place was crammed, except for the patio, which had zero shade. We couldn't even see the hostess stand, so we wandered around for a bit until I managed to ask a server how to get seated. She was nice and pointed to a table that was just finishing up. So, it was kind of a race to snag that table with more people coming in. We ordered calamari and fish tacos. The calamari was pretty good, but the fish tacos were a letdown. Once we got seated and ordered, our server was really nice and did her best to keep up with everything. Honestly, this place isn't really my vibe. I don't like having to scramble for a table or deal with a parking hunt. But, if the food was amazing, I might give it another shot, especially for that stunning view.

    Are you handicap accessible?

They are not. Restaurant is up quite a long staircase and there is no elevator.

    Do you take reservations?

    No. Called today and asked

How's the gumbo? Is it loaded or more broth? Dark or light?

The gumbo is among the best on the island! It's dark and delicious. The shrimp nachos are one of the best times we've ever eaten. A bowl of gumbo and split an order of nachos is a fantastic meal!

    Are dogs allowed?

I don't think so. Never saw any

Hi! Do you accept a small and calm puppy at the restaurant ? Thanks

The servers were all very pleasant and knowledgeable with a few good recommendations. Started with an Expresso martini. It tasted like a shaken shot of Tito's Expresso vodka, which I like, it's strong, but would have been good shaken with a little Baileys :) The Gulf Shrimp was the star of the night. Very fresh, nice size for the price and I love their house made tarter/raumelade sauce. Split the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich with my husband. Pretty disappointed. Did not have a buttermilk coating, it was more like a frozen chicken patty:( the slaw was tasty, but a little saucy for me. Loved the Fries and Homemade Chips and their Ranch was good! When we walked through the doors, we were shocked how large a space it was, but it is very open, bright, and inviting. We were seated in one of the semi circular booths, which was enjoyable. We ended up deciding to order a variety of appetizers, so that we would have room for dessert. We had no idea that even appetizer portions were huge! We ordered chicken wings, onion rings, and a garlic shrimp appetizer. We were not enthralled with the garlic shrimp appetizer, the garlic was so overwhelming that it made it hard to enjoy the dish. The onion rings were huge, and there was an enormous amount of them. We could barely make a dent in that appetizer. The real star was the chicken wings. They were extremely well done, and the Thai chili sauce topping was excellent. Despite being overwhelmingly full, we decided to go forward with splitting the crustless pecan pie dessert. It comes out warmed, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was chuck full of pecans, and was absolutely excellent. The ice cream was a delicious counterpart to the pie. Our server was super friendly, and we enjoyed our experience at Nick's immensely. We would highly recommend!

We did not know that they made all of their food to order. We waited around 30 minutes to get our food, but well worth it! If you do not feel like waiting and are in a rush, this is not the place for you. Please come back when you have time to enjoy the atmosphere and the amazing food. I was telling one of the servers to please pass along my compliments to the chef and the owners. I was having a rather rough morning on our first visit. The best way I can describe the deliciousness of the food was that I went from being a little bit meh, to a strong to feeling like I was having a warm hug. I ordered the biscuits and gravy my other half ordered the berries and cream cinnamon French toast, and my little ordered the Mickey Mouse pancake with cinnamon. We came back another day and all ordered the same thing again, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The inside of the building is quite rustic. Even though you are waiting a bit for your food, there is so much to look at that time just passes by. Even in the bathroom will keep you occupied, and not just with the normal activities . The staff was amazingly friendly. On the second day, the gentleman server did not know whether the Mickey Mouse pancake should have the cinnamon bun toppings on it (you know,...because kids might start bouncing off of the ceiling), or sprinkles and whipped cream. We requested the latter and he came over and put on a tiny show for my little. The gentleman made a fun little show of putting whipped cream on Mickey and let my little decorate his own pancake. Definitely a 10/10 experience and we will be returning when we are around these parts again.
