Over the ocean restaurant. Fun store and then you go upstairs for open and outside seating perfect for sunset watching. We shared a cheese steak and fries with ice cold beer. Service is spot on and best views.

What a great experience on the pier. It reminded me of Florida. We were greeted quickly and served within 15 minutes. The food was yummy and the portions were very large. I really liked my husband's smash burger! (See pics) A cool bonus was that showing our lunch receipt in the gift shop gave us free passage to walk on the fishing pier (normal price of $5.00). (See pic and video). It was a beautiful view and the best time.

Great location for great views. Nice service. The food and drinks were good. The pretzel bites and beer cheese were very good. A definite must when in Galveston and you can walk in the pier after.

This business is basically three things, a restaurant upstairs, a coffee shop and gift shop downstairs and a long fishing pier behind them both. The gift shop also sells souvenirs, cold drinks and fishing lures to name a few. Depending on the weather, the pier itself can have dozens and dozens of people fishing on it along with the ever watching hopeful pelican. Access to the pier is $15 per day and you can bring your own rod and real or rent them here and pick up some frozen bait. You can book your private party here, and they even have a live cam that you can tune into which you'll see in the photos below. As for the restaurant, plenty of yelpers have covered that so you can check out their reviews. Informative photos and videos below.

Decent food with a great view. They don't have a ton of gluten free options. I was excited to try the bacon wrapped shrimp but it's fried in the flyer with breaded stuff so it's not GF. I ended up getting their pesto salad with shrimp. It was a pretty good salad. The staff were friendly. The best part of the experience is the view you get from just about every table, it's right on the pier. It wasn't my first choice but it was walking distance so I gave it a shot. Not bad, I would go there again.

We enjoyed our visit to Jimmy's on the Pier. We were there on a Thursday night so it wasn't crowded at all. Our service was great! Server was very attentive. We sat outside on the deck and had a great view of the Gulf. Food was good too! We had pretzel bites and bacon wrapped shrimp. Things to note: It costs $5 to walk the pier, but it's free with your paid restaurant receipt. You can also park on the street for free after 6pm.

Jimmy's is a consistent staple in Galveston. I love taking my out of town family for the great views and service! I got the tuna tostada and it was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Our server was so funny too, attentive but not over bearing. Also bonus points for the clean bathroom's.

So, we were hanging out with friends after an amazing day at the beach and they chose the place to eat. The view of the gulf that day was just stunning--definitely the highlight of the whole experience. Even though I've been around Galveston for over 40 years, I'd never tried Jimmy's before. Getting there was a hassle, though, because it's part of this super popular fishing pier and parking was 2-3 blocks away. When we finally got to the restaurant, we had to navigate through a gift shop packed with tourist stuff, then climb up two flights of these really narrow stairs. The place was crammed, except for the patio, which had zero shade. We couldn't even see the hostess stand, so we wandered around for a bit until I managed to ask a server how to get seated. She was nice and pointed to a table that was just finishing up. So, it was kind of a race to snag that table with more people coming in. We ordered calamari and fish tacos. The calamari was pretty good, but the fish tacos were a letdown. Once we got seated and ordered, our server was really nice and did her best to keep up with everything. Honestly, this place isn't really my vibe. I don't like having to scramble for a table or deal with a parking hunt. But, if the food was amazing, I might give it another shot, especially for that stunning view.

Fantastic views and great food. We loved taking a walk on the pier while waiting for our table which didn't take long at all. The ahi tuna and shrimp tostadas were delicious and the fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. Enjoyable experience all around. A great option if you're looking for a fun spot to take in views of the water.

    Are you handicap accessible?

They are not. Restaurant is up quite a long staircase and there is no elevator.

    Do you take reservations?

    No. Called today and asked

How's the gumbo? Is it loaded or more broth? Dark or light?

The gumbo is among the best on the island! It's dark and delicious. The shrimp nachos are one of the best times we've ever eaten. A bowl of gumbo and split an order of nachos is a fantastic meal!

    Are dogs allowed?

I don't think so. Never saw any

Hi! Do you accept a small and calm puppy at the restaurant ? Thanks

We discovered it through Galveston Restaurant Week. They offered three course meals so diners could get a feel for what they offer. The portion sizes are insane. The shrimp Mickey was amazing and an unexpected flavor. I was expecting something closer to scampi flavor but it had way more depth. The dipping bread was also spectacular! The artichoke dip had huge chunks of artichoke in it so they did not skimp! Chilled shrimp was nice and fresh! My older kids didn't love the calamari but I think they were just overwhelmed by the tomatoes. The creamy tomato sauce that came with it was so delicious I would buy it jarred! My youngest reported loving the sliders and the fresh fruit cup was good fruit not cheap fruit. The sole reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the hostess humiliated my oldest, albeit unintentionally. He has a brain issue and is small. When I tried to give him an adult menu the hostess was questioning him on his age and was visibly surprised he is a teenager. I tried to shut her up but it ruined the experience for him bc he doesn't want to discuss medical info to make people stop talking. I could see if I were trying to get an older child a cheaper kid's meal but that wasn't the case. I think she just needs better training to not grill people. Just let them eat. The waitress was amazing and the bartender made the drinks PERFECTLY!

Lots of good options on the menu, and I was craving their famous cinnamon roll pancakes, but then a server brought out migas to a table and I immediately knew I wanted that instead. Here, it's a little opposite from most places, you gotta pick your seat first then order as the seats, especially the tables, are hard to come by at times. There are plenty stools along the window but the tables are better and most tables are family style so you'll likely be meeting someone new. I also added a chocolate bread pudding for myself which looked really good. The rest of my group ordered the granny's breakfast with sausage, 2 scrambled eggs and Benny's tostadas. The food comes out surprisingly quick for as busy as they are. Everything was so delicious! I ate a little of the bread pudding at the restaurant, then eventually ate the rest over the course of the next few hours. Yum! This restaurant is highly recommended!

After you finally order you get to try and find one of their dirty tables to sit at then wait way too long for terrible food. The food could not be more terrible, this is what they call biscuits and gravy and it tasted as bad as it looks, I think the best way to describe the color of the gravy is orange, which is weird. I had one bite of the biscuit and gravy and it was so bad that the stray cat that jumped on our table did not even want it, but it could have also been because of all the flies because the little fly fan at our table did not work but it also might have been from the constant smell from the sewer drain located right in the seating area. My wife had a chicken bagel egg sandwich- not good....all our food went in the trash. This is not a restaurant it is a disaster, do not believe the positive reviews.
