After doing extensive research for a reputable and established expert in Plumbing and Sewer Repair in Marin , I selected Hardiman Construction/Trenchless Titan. I interviewed and got quotes from 5 companies. 5 companies came to my property , inspected and went back to their desk to send their quotes and contracts to me. It was a lot of work and very time consuming . SO, let me save you a lot of time . The ONLY company that was a fair quote and professional, honest and knowledgeable was Hardiman Consruction/Trenchless Titan. I've been in Marin 45 years as a real estate agent, small business owner and homeowner . This is not my first Rodeo AND I've been around the block many times. I have never had a better experience working with a contractor in my entire life. I had a difficult project to replace my parents' entire sewer line to their home coupled with some complication/sensitvity to family needs and the entire staff that I communicated with, whether it be the people in the office or the field crew, were so professional, respectful, kind and understanding. It was just way over the top of what anyone could hope for. I watched most of the project and I was so impressed with how efficient and hard working the entire crew were and the end result...was perfect. I just met with technicians from Trenchless Titan. After asking a few questions I found their story interesting. The Larkspur based Company is a family owned business. The husband and wife who started it has a few young sons in their employ and has taken in other young men training them the art of Trenchless Plumbing. According to Chris the lead investigator He has been like family. He says it took many early mornings and late afternoons to learn the trade. Alex his young assistant was very polite and knowledgeable. They came with a camera snake ( free with inspection) and were able to isolate the problem and mark it out on the ground using the camera and sonar equipment to mark out the depth of existing sewage pipes. They were able to show me the video and explained the problems very clearly. The roots have intruded in the old clay pipes in various areas. This type of service, replacing old sewage pipes by threading new ones inside is a technique other companies may try to copy. Trenchless Titan has it down to a science. Another plumber told me over the phone he subcontracts them out to other clients and I should just call them. They have different teams doing different things. After the job is done they have a clean up crew who comes and can meet with inspector and put fresh gravel down when they are finished. Estimate includes County Inspection fees if they are necessary. PROFESSIONALISM is the keyword here I'm a retired contractor, in building construction for 40 years and I've seen lots of mediocre, poor and excellent work too. The sewer lateral replacement that Hardiman Construction completed for myself and my neighbor (shared connection) is an example of people who are experienced, dedicated, honest and reliable. Not only were they one of the lowest prices we got from five companies but they exceeded my expectations on a job that could have been very troublesome due to unforeseen circumstances. I was relieved to see that they did not raise their final price to take advantage of these difficulties. Honestly this company and the people working for them are just great. We recently had a lateral sewer replacement done by Hardiman. The company owner responded to my emails directly and they were super clear and detailed with answers to our concerns and questions. The guys who come out and do the work/ permitting etc were all so polite, professional and on it. I don't know how they find their people but they are the best! I think the whole process from quote to work and certification took just over 1 month and with many competitors workloads and permitting processes backed-up by months that is VERY impressive. The crew was awesome! They did a great job and had it done super fast. They accommodated us on short notice and came out early on a Saturday morning to get our broken pipes and backup fixed. Very knowledgeable and even took the time to stop to explain their work to me, and the other problems we had with our pipes but didn't know about originally. These guys are pros and run a smooth, competent shop. They are not the least expensive bid, but they are tight, they are real people, and they do really good work. Sewer lateral replacement is a highly specific, overly regulated, and stupid expensive operation - but you gotta do it if you gotta do it. Ours was a $10k+ job up a hill with limited access and oak trees we'd rather not murder. This shop handled all with precision and care. If you want a vendor who makes you feel like they're doing you a favor working on your job, look no further. You should just accept at the outset that every step of the way, from scheduling the inspection, getting a written quote, scheduling the work, confirming they are coming, finding out what exactly they are going to do, and confirming the city inspection is done and their work is finished, you will have to call them three or four times and leave messages in their black hole voicemail system. You should also accept that the only time you will hear from anyone other than their receptionist is when it's time to get paid. read more

Cannot recommend these folks highly enough. The County had recommended that everybody in our area get their sewer laterals checked so we would not have to tear up the streets for future repairs after planned paving. I actually called another firm for the sewer lateral check (camera in the line) and they could not find the "clean-out' spot in our unusual hilly situation, so couldn't do the check. I had already called Trenchless to get a competitive bid, and their guys found it in a matter of minutes, did a camera inspection,and found roots clogging it a bit. They drove up to get the necessary device to clear the roots, came back and did that - and ran the camera down again. They then determined our relation to the neighbors' easement &c - The entire bill was a fraction of what the competitor had estimated to install a new clean-out. These guys really know this subject, which is their specialty. Have recommended them to my neighbor and anybody else in earshot! read more
