Rarely good news when you have to call a plumber, but when you need one, Mason Plumbing provides above and beyond service. Saw water pooling out near our curbside drain on a Friday. Called and Mason came right over to check it out. Found a leak in a pipe behind our water heater leading out to the street. Gave us a bid within hours and knowing the leak was costing us money every minute, called on Saturday to book Monday morning. Jackson and Charlie arrived on time, were extremely friendly and answered any questions we had. Afterwards, double-checked that everything was working and found two other issues which they addressed. As part of the process, also checked around outside of the house, saw that our irrigation subsystem had leaks and recommended someone to fix it. I'm writing to show my appreciation for the immediate response and continued support rendered by Cameron Mason and his crew from Mason Plumbing on January 11, 2023. In the midst of one of our rain storms my sub basement was flooding. I contacted Mason Plumbing for an emergency repair at 4:30pm. Cameron called soon thereafter, found a sump pump, and arrived at my house within 15 minutes. My 2 sump pumps were both inoperative and the water heater had failed from the flooding caused by the rising waters. This timely response saved the basement from further flooding. Cameron returned the next day and replaced the 2nd sump pump and his crew returned the next day to replace the water heater. Well, we all know that five stars is very hard to come by. I mean you have to hit it on so many levels from customer service to setting up the appointment, the actual execution of the job and finally the price. And let's be honest you want some peace of mind knowing it's going to be done correctly. When it comes to plumbing, I don't think you could go wrong hiring Mason. I had an issue with the driveway drain that was slow going and needed to get fixed before the winter rains came. I called them on Wednesday and they came out the very next day with two guys and a truck and a snake. They snaked the drain, did some more investigation to make sure the other systems were working and even drew me a nice little diagram for future reference. They showed up on time, they cleaned up after themselves, were efficient and most importantly, they restored my drains to functioning perfectly. If you're out in the valley, give them a call as they do service the Lagunitas area. I hate hiring Plumbers, but I do love hiring professionals! Mason gets my vote. read more

I called Mason to repair a leaky faucet. A day after they did, I had a cracked sink. Telling this to Cameron his first reaction was to ask if I had dropped something on my sink,,My paperwork shows a small existing crack that silicone was used to fix. At no time during the repair or after was I told that my sink might crack. No apology from Cameron at any point of this process. Cameron's only solution was that I buy a whole new vanity countertop and sink at my cost. Very reluctantly i got Cameron to look at the damage but not before he said he had 30 years of experience and knew what he was working with. He confirmed only solution was for me to. buy countertop and sink I am so glad I DID NOT TAKE HIS ADVICE. because he was proven wrong. As good as it gets! Called and left message and then emailed for work to be done. Received a call back the following morning, set up time for estimate that worked within my schedule. Told me if I accepted the estimate (not a high pressure sale's call) it would be ~2 or 3 weeks to begin. The day after his team received the signed estimate, which was very competitive and much less than some other big Marin names, we received a start state. He showed up with his team on-time, we had a pre-implementation walk through. His team completed the job, and did a post-construction walk through guiding me through what they did and was patient and willing with my questions. Subsequently, I had a pipe break, and although he couldn't service that call, he called me back immediately, and gave me 2 references that specialized in emergency plumbing. We have used Mason 3 times. The 2nd time, I asked if I could get trained in replacing an old leaking elbow joint under a bathroom sink. This will document an unfortunate experience with Mason Plumbing. I called them to clean a backup in my sewerline. Two men were at it for several hours without success, and since they did not know if the line could be cleared, I told them to stop. Thereafter, one of the service men read from a tablet that I owed him $ 615. I responded that I wanted a bill because on a previous call I had to make many calls to finally get a bill. The service guy called Cameron on the spot, and Cameron responded: "you know where that goes". A few minutes later Cameron called me and said "I heard that you don't want to pay the bill" - I'll have to contact my lawyer". I responded:"I never said that, just send me a bill". A week later I did receive a bill for $ 631 for 3 hours of work (2 guys @ 3 hrs = 6 hrs) The guys left and sewage was still overflowing. This is injury on top of insult. Why did it take 6 man hours (and probably more if I hadn't stopped them) in an unlikely event of success. Moreover, their work habits left much to be desired as one of the guys was standing around most of the time. read more

We've used Cameron and his team for many projects now, from small (installing a garbage disposal and re-seating a toilet that had a failed wax seal), to large, such as installing a new gas line to the street so PG&E could install a new meter and upgrade our gas service. His pricing is fair, his work quality is excellent, and his response to requests is timely. They show up when they say they will, and when we had some unexpected changes to our gas line installation, Cameron came by on short notice to make sure we didn't miss our construction date with PG&E. Called when needed to get gas line earthquake emergency shut off valve replaced. Had reported possible leak to PG&E who came out, confirmed leak, then shut off gas telling us we need to get repaired before they could turn it back on. Old cabins need love too! Based on yelp reviews, I chose mason plumbing to assess a sewer situation at our family cabin in Inverness. I phoned Mason plumbing after waiting two days to hear from a "local" plumber who never came through. Cameron immediatley answered and discussed the issue with me. All within a few hours he drove out to the cabin, assessed the situation and fixed the problem. When he phoned with the good news I was so pleased! It is easy to expect the worst with these old cabins and he seemed to have done a very thorought job (checked and double-checked) to be sure the lines were clear.
