Grilled Tofu Banh Mi Sandwich

It's a nice place but I didn't love my banh mi but tasted healthy. Service at times felt a bit abrupt.

The vegan gluten free mushroom biscuits were amazing - can eat them as-is without gravy, toasted with some smooth butter. YUM. Roasted Market vegetables were just potatoes and sweet potatoes - idk why I expected cauliflower, zucchini and other veggies. Also wish it had more tempeh for protein. Regardless, great dish, well balanced. Service was fast - you order at the front, get your own waters and bus your tables as you leave.

Super cute spot. I really like all the healthy options here. I got the matcha smoothie (9.69$) and it was good. Very fresh. I couldn't really taste the match though, mostly just banana flavor. I can tell they use high quality ingredients here. Great spot to do work and hang out. Employees are friendly.

Wha happen? Oh how the mighty have fallen. This place used to be a very good fresh food juice bar restaurant. It was always very expensive but you assumed you were paying for the wit and expertise of the chef and sourcing of clean and local ingredients. Not anymore from what I can tell. The old recipe for my bowl was unceremoniously changed to replace yam noodles with grated fresh yam, or so it tasted to me.This is a very sad outcome.

Yum! What's a great spot. We loved their take in a chickpea tuna as it was spiced with some type of pepper. Definitely has a kick to it! The bread, for being GF, was amazing. Wow. Chewy, crispy, delicious. And then the veggie soup was great! We did as for the cream of potato which I was looking for but I was still happy with the option. They have a great selection of drinks so we grabbed a few to go. Enjoyed this meal back home, but the entire space is beautiful, open, green and bright. I'd enjoy eating there another time. Service was good, simple interaction with the hostess and then just a wait.

Love that it's all gluten free and lots of vegan options. Their ethics are with organic and local is wonderful. The drinks were a little watered down. The food was mid and could use more seasoning. I did like the pancakes; they were our favorite of everything we got. Service was quick and kind. The ambiance has lots of plants and open feel.

Gluten and dairy review: This place is wonderful. It's so nice to pick pretty much anything from the menu. Gluten and dairy free! There was a mistake on my mine (allergy) that they were so kind to fix. I was so appreciative. This location has awesome people and yummy food! Great seating. Loved the fresh juice.

Great food and ambience. It is right next door to pinolos, and lots of great shops to walk down. Bowls were reasonably priced and a nice healthy option for a meal!

Gluten free mushroom biscuit with vegan butter served still warm.

Mushroom Stroganoff is off the menu at Harlow and I am in mourning. The chive biscuits remain tasty with a hit of spice and their vegan walnut chorizo quesadillas are flavorful and delicious, served in a gluten-free tortilla filled with walnut chorizo, vegan cheddar cheese, roasted pepper, onion, butternut squash and excellent salsa. Their seasonal vegan pasta dish with spinach, mushrooms and walnuts however, was quite bland and a reminder than we cannot live off our food memories. RIP mushroom stroganoff --you are missed! Harlow remains a solid spot to eat vegan and gluten free food in a friendly atmosphere, especially if you want fresh juices or smoothies, as a complement.

Quesadillas + Betty Bowl + biscuits = yum!

Warning Plant Based Babes! You'll want to order everything on the menu, and you can! This is our second time visiting Harlow and we absolutely love it! Today we tried the quesadillas and wowzers who ever is magically combining ingredients in the kitchen is doing a stellar job, I could consume these nonstop and never grow tired. We also bought the Betty bowl-delicious. And the biscuits-yum. Appreciate businesses like this for our community!

Ambiance: 5/5 This place has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, filled with greenery, which gives it a relaxing, refreshing vibe. It's a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal! Service: 4.2/5 The cashier was just okay, but the waiters were very nice and attentive. self bus Food: - Pesto Garden Scrambled Eggs with Brown Rice: 4.5/5 Delicious and just as described! I wasn't a fan of the cashews in it, though, and think it might have been even better with a sunny-side-up egg. - Seasonal Pasta (Squash Mac and Cheese with Mushrooms?): 5/5 Super creamy and comforting. My boyfriend added pepper flakes (available on the side), which gave it an extra kick. Still wasn't a fan of the cashews, but it was tasty. Their food might seem a little plain at first, but I think they try to keep it healthy and provide salt and pepper so you can adjust to your taste. Great options for vegetarians and vegans! Drinks: 4/5 The drinks were ok but pricey. They're made with healthy ingredients, though I felt like I could make them at home. - Sea of Blue - Pink Flamingo Overall: 4.5/5 Would definitely come again! Great spot for healthy food options.

Ask the Community - Harlow

Are the pancakes light and fluffy? And delicious?

Folks love our GF and vegan pancakes!

How long is the wait for Sunday brunch (if going around 11:30)?

Harlow doesn't have waiter service so you wait in line, order, and then sit down. The average wait to order your meal on a Sunday morning is 30-45 minutes. It's worth the wait though! So delicious.

Is the pancake gluten free?

A valid query, Sixian. Their walnut flapjacks are essentially oatmeal based with walnuts in them. And, since Harlow is a 100% gluten free kitchen, I'm presuming they purchase oats that haven't come in contact with any gluten centric flour such as… Read more

Thank you to the wonderful chefs and people keeping this place running. I am so grateful to have the privilege to try this plate again and I look forward to my next visit to Portland, just for Mirisata. Highly recommend trying as you cannot go wrong ordering any item from their menu, but get the Rice & Curry Plate and your mind & body will thank you for it.

The menu is a bit challenging to navigate the first time through, but the staff is lovely and will help direct you. I'll say that the printed direction to order 4-7 dishes per person would be crazy. We did not need 35 dishes! Some of the dishes are very small, and some are enormous, so ask if you don't know to strike the perfect balance. Some are offered on a range of 1-5 spiciness, and it definitely leans on the spicy side, so you may want to stick with 1-3. The flavors here are fabulous! I was so impressed that with all vegan ingredients, each dish was fully differentiated and had its own unique flavor profile. The dining area reminded me so much of the street cafes throughout Asia. They nailed that fun, casual feel

In some places it was listed as Hapa PDX, while in others it showed up as PDX Ramen & Whiskey. I arrived around 3:30 pm, so there was no wait at all. Inside is pretty casual with bar seats and tables. They also had an outside covered sittings. The main chef and our server were both very friendly. When they found out it was our first visit, they helped us choose from the menu and explained each dish in detail. All the dishes were very tasty, and each one had a unique twist that I did not expect from the name, in a good way. The G Special Ramen had a nice kick, and the mushrooms in it were very juicy and flavorful. Pork nuggets were a bit too fatty for me. The tonkotsu ramen was not just a rich, milky pork broth. It had a chili oil twist that made it more interesting. The chashu was also unique. It seemed like the pork was grilled once more in the oven, giving it a crispy exterior. Their daily special bao was excellent as well. They mentioned that all the pickles and ingredients in the bao are made in-house. And its gochujang based sauce was very tasty. Overall, while every dish was different from what I expected from the names, it all had a flavorful and unexpected twist, and the meal was truly delightful.

We both ordered the G Special ramen, and it was rich, flavorful, and super comforting -- definitely the highlight of the meal. His grandmother got the Shoyu ramen and really enjoyed it; she said the broth was light but still full of flavor. We tried a couple of appetizers, and this is where things were a bit mixed. The pork belly tasted good but the portion size was disappointing for the price. The tofu appetizer, on the other hand, was actually pretty solid -- crispy, well-seasoned, and a nice start to the meal. I also got an iced matcha tea, and that ended up being a pleasant surprise. It had a smooth flavor and wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Overall, the ramen and drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it made for a good family outing. A few tweaks to portion sizes would make it even better, but we'd still come back!
