Ok so I'm so far loving this. Prices are average but I think the pedicure is the best! $40 for a paraffin/hot stone is my favorite place . If nothing else my feet/legs will always be happy. Thank you Tom The place has mixed reviews so I was a bit worried about my nails. That's my picky spot. Ivy did my nails and I love them. Did not like they charge you $55 for a fill in/gel but now I know. I also had a few nail that were lifting and she didn't plucked them, she just fill the nails so when I did my nails again they were growing mold! Thank goodness I didn't wait as long as I do because they didn't last long either. So that's a down side. I stopped in because I needed some stubborn dip polish removed, but I decided to stay for a gel manicure with my tech, John. The cuticle removal and nail shaping were both expertly and carefully done. No sore fingers! I picked a finicky glitter color (by accident because the bottle was deceiving), and John applied three very careful, even coats to make sure the glitter was distributed around each nail. I wouldn't normally pick a color like this because I wouldn't expect it to be applied with care, but my nails look GREAT. Every experience during COVID means taking a little risk, but I was really happy with the reward in this case. The only improvement they could make is specific to current events: I would've preferred that they not seat the other customer in the chair next to me and instead seat her at least one seat away to honor 6' physical distancing. read more

Came here on a whim while visiting my friend. All I got was a basic pedi. Sadly disappointed. My nail tech did not care how my nails looked. She quickly cut them. Did not shape them one bit. One nail is cut at an angle facing west. And one nail is cut facing east. They charge $25 on top for gel. Definitely an easy fix when I get home I can just file them down like how my usual go to nail place does. My friends nail tech did an amazing job. This place is really hit or miss. It's pre Thanksgiving and I have to get my dip nails removed and a new manicure in place before the holidays. I get in my car after work and google "nail salon near me." This brought me to Venus nail and spa and THANK GOD it did. Venus is unassuming from the outside and honestly kind of a turn off. The inside doesn't blow you away either BUT none of this matters because if the quality of work. Loan gave me the most thorough and fanatic pedicure of my life followed by the most beautiful and long lasting gel manicure of my life. I was so well taken care of and revived a level of care lacking in other establishments in the Nashville area. I have been everywhere and Venus is my new go to. The owner is RACIST and RUDE. He is always on his phone, he does not look up and greet people of color, when a white person walks in he is nice. He tried to charge me $20 to fix two nails, when the nail tech who fix my nails said that it was okay and I did not have to pay her. I was extremely willing to pay but after he looked at me and talked to me like I was stupid leaving the store I was extremely upset. Because first of all do not make it seem like I do not have the money to pay. Second of all I was not charged initially or told how much it would be to fix the two nails so don't make it seem now like I'm not willing to pay. Business seems not to value customers especially when owners is sub par. Clearly I get my nails done very frequently and I have no problem paying. I've come in a few times to get my nails done and every time the guy owner looks at me like I'm a peasant and talks to me and other POC The same, he doesn't give any direction of what to do after check in when I tell him I have an appointment. His two female technicians Kim and the other lady are extremely nice and will definitely receive my business but if they continue to work here I don't think I can patronize them anymore. read more

MUST READ!!!!!!! This salon has the worst customer service EVER! I just moved to TN from California so I'm completely aware of how things "normally" work and I found a nail tech I had really liked (Kim)! But whenever I tried to book with her the owner would deter me by saying she's with a client or call back closer to the date you want your nails done. Which was extremely inconvenient seeing how in normal salons you can book 1-2 weeks ahead of time so your schedule isn't thrown off. Besides that he was extremely abrasive & unprofessional to the point where I felt unsettled every time I called to try and book a appointment. Finally it came to the point where I caved and said "ok we'll please just give her my number and when she's free she can call me so I can schedule an appointment with her." Weeks went by and I never received a return call from the nail tech so I decided to follow up on the issue except this time the salon wouldn't answer my phone calls due to caller i.d. I ended up calling private and low and behold the Owner picked up and had all the excuses in the world why the call wasn't answered nor was my call returned. Even went as far to state that the nail tech works at other salons and has other clients to tend to & I'm not the only one waiting for her to contact them. The whole experience was like nothing I've ever experienced before I've never been spoken to in such a derogative way in my life and will not accept it. If your debating on a good salon with etiquette to spend your hard earned money please don't consider Venus salon you'll be disappointed and end up wasting ALOT of money & time. I rarely write reviews for companies but this was appalling that this salon is still in business no one should have to subject themselves to mistreatment and discrimination just to have their nails done its not that serious. This is the worst French gel manicure I've ever had. The lady seemed to be in a rush, even though I got there early in the morning and no one was waiting. Lots of careless mistakes... polish overflowing off the nail, a piece of fuzz painted in, rough edges, sloppy white tips. There's a reason they keep the place dimly lit. I can normally count on a gel manicure to last two weeks, but this one started to chip not even a day later. Will not be going back. read more

Sent my girlfriend here for a manicure. She has acrylic nails and wanted a mani/pedi and to change up her color. The nails look great-I'll say that right now. However, while she thought she was paying $90 for a mani/pedi, they charged $150 to my credit card. My girlfriend doesn't speak much English, but I confirmed the price before I left. What mani-pedi costs $150 without new acrylics being installed?? We will never go back here. Was a total bait and switch, hoping I would not notice. Well, I did. And I disputed the charge with my CC company, who has a no questions asked policy. You'll lose in the end, when you could have gained a good customer twice a month. read more

I couldn't hear exactly what they were saying but after she left he called her a F---ing B--- and that he's "sick of all the angry black people coming in" when the next customer came in around 5 minutes later he exclaimed to everyone who was inside "it's okay everyone she's not black!" I then stopped him and said that his words were disgusting and made me uncomfortable so he needed to stop. He then sulked in the corner and didn't say a word. As I was paying I told him that those were the most disgusting words I've ever heard, they were despicable and he needs to reflect on his actions and think before he talks and that I'd never be returning again. I went to this nail salon for a full set. I'm from Chicago, IL and it was recommended to me by staff at the hotel I was staying at. The staff at the nail salon were very nice, but the gentleman who did my acrylics did not do a good job. He moved so fast and my nails came out sloppy and gross. I looked around and they seem to do a good job with gel manicures. Maybe acrylics are not their specialty. He did not even ask for me to wash my hands at any point in the process. The receptionist made us feel welcome and didn't rush us to choose our colors or service (something that gives me a lot of anxiety at nail salons). I recently went to Venus nail bar and had an OK experience. My gel manicure was great and I thought the prices were reasonable, but my friend and I made appointments which were not honored. We waited almost 20 minutes after our appointment time to be seen. My manicure did hold up great and I went back this morning to get it redone. Their hours on Google say they open at 10 am on Sunday, but when I got there at 10:15 they were closed. This was super inconvenient for me because I have work at 11:30 and specifically got up early to go before. Also, they had no sign in the window of their actual hours so I have no idea what time they even open today. The result was horrendous....it basically looked like a clear coat on my nails. The textures was soft and blotchy, the gel stuck to my skin, my cuticles were ripped. I got there as soon as they opened and the service was excellent from the moment I got there. I wish I got her name but my nail tech did an AMAZING job. It's so hard to find someone who does a seamless acrylic set but she executed as well as filing them perfectly. The best acrylic set I've had. My pedicure was also amazing. He took his time to make sure my toenails were clean, filed, all dead skin gone which I appreciated so much and to make it better the massage had me passing out hahaha.
