I easily made an appointment through Instagram DMs and spoke in advance about their fruit nail art. The guy doing my nails was definitely not as comfortable (described himself as unconfident) in nail art, so I was surprised he was assigned to my appointment. Don't get me wrong, they turned out super cute, but I feel like there was a disconnect between the employee making my appointment and the technician which could've made the process more smooth (for him and me) and more similar to the online photos. All of the employees were kind and made sure I was comfortable in my chair, dialed in my shade of red, and provided complementary water. The other customers in the salon were clearly repeat customers who love their nail technicians and sing DIP's praises. Jayden is possibly the owner or at least a top dog at the salon who was busy as a nail tech and helped when the cashier had issues. I got gel removal and gel color change with 4 nail art designs for $55, before tax and tip. I'll definitely be back! (They don't do henna, I just already had it from a Yelp Nashville event.)

It doesn't change the experience I had but I appreciate the professionalism and communication. This was my first time visiting Orvelle and unfortunately, my last. I went in for an acrylic white tip full set and was made to believe they'd see me relatively soon as I was a walk-in. I expected to wait about 15-20 minutes since I didn't have an appointment but they had me sitting for over 40 minutes before I was seen. Again, this wouldn't have been an issue if they would have told me it would be a while - I could have gone to run errands or came back. People were seen before me and I was left sitting for almost an hour before I was seen. As I mentioned, I wanted acrylic white tips, it's a service listed that they offer at this salon but that's not what I received. I ended up with a regular acrylic french tip set. One set is $60 and the other is around $85 and are completely different services. They're absolutely beautiful but not what I asked for. The quality of the set is what saved me from giving a 1-star review. At the end of the day I was charged for a service I didn't ask for and was asked to wait almost 45 minutes without any communication.

I was quickly greeted and seated upon arrival without an appointment. Travis started taking off my previous gel and was friendly. He cleaned up my cuticles but could've done a better job at removing all of my previous gel polish. He started applying the new polish and things were going well until he began applying the second coat. He seemed to struggle with avoiding polish around my cuticles and had to constantly remove that off. Some of the other nail techs noticed he was having a hard time, and eventually just took over. It caught me off guard and I asked "Is everything ok?". I wasn't expecting to have 3 other people surrounding me during my service which didn't cause for a relaxing experience. I felt bad for Travis because he was trying his best. I was grateful for his constant effort in wanting to make sure I was satisfied. My nails turned out as I wanted but the journey to get there was challenging.
