I was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. I got the Jucy Lucy, Crispy Fries, and Cheese Curds - every bite was delicious. I like smash burgers typically but when I saw the Jucy Lucy I wanted to give it a whirl, and it hit the mark perfectly. I got extra cheese so maybe that's the secret. Grabbed some burgers for my family at this local burger place after a day at Great Wolf Lodge. They offer a smash burger and you can buy them in packs they call Limos. We opted for a 50/50 limo which is 5 burgers of your choice and 5 orders of fries. Our limo also came with a pack of 4 sauces. Along with some cheese curds and 3 orders of cookies. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff who were courteous and attentive. They even took time to read my order back to me bc it was large. The restaurant is small with maybe 20 seats, mostly stools. For our limo, we opted for 4 Royales (2 patties, with cheese, LTO, pickles and special sauce) and one OG (2 patties, pickles, onions and special sauce) along with 5 orders of fries. They will also modify burgers upon request (I will not bore you with all my picky fams modifications). Let me say they are really impressive at packing everything in a custom box instead of a bag. My only complaint is that the fries and curds were smashed. The food is amazing, the burgers were great and my entire family raved about them. The cheese curds were good despite being smashed and the ranch sauce and special sauce were great. We did not really care for the cookies, they just had too much going on. I realize that in this political climate we have to be careful with our words, but this is the death of America. Start off with chain. Chains aren't necessarily bad, and after all, we are the land of capitalism. But, when have you traveled somewhere and thought, "man, I can't wait to see what chain restaurants they have,"? The good side of a chain, if they nail it, is the consistency. If they don't, it's still the consistency. Next we have, the ambiance. Feels like they figured out how to make the people act like AI. I wasn't sure if I was there to eat or get an oil change. And now, the food. I didn't know that cheese burger meant two patties of cheese, and a slice of burger. If I wasn't lactose intolerant before... Also, three burgers, two sides of fries, one drink $46. And the pièce de résistance, the screen flip from behind the counter with suggested tip options. We have lift off! I was good and ready for these retro smash burger. I got the Royal minus tomato. It was massive! 2 quarter lbs all natural, premium Angus by Creekstone Farms on a buttery Brioche bun with house-made Pickles, Ribbon Red Onions, signature sauce and California creamery white American cheese served "Medium" which was indeed perfection. Its massive. Heavily loaded and dar good. I waited till I got home. It was still warm and the seasoned fries were delicious. They're a thin cut fry with a nice spice. I wasn't expecting that. It was a flavor explosion that barley made it home. The All natural, handcrafted soda from Boylan was phenomenal. Its the pellet ice fa me. The Black cherry hits different when the bougie eyes comes out. I felt lifted while I sipped my emotions. The staff was young as to be expected but very friendly and the location is bright and open with a dinner vibe. I love that they capitalized on the space by adding outside seating which is rare down here. Harriet's is as much about being good to people as it is about making good food. Let me start with the staff as that is the highlight. Absolutely amazing. So friendly and service oriented. Some fantastic employee training and expectations. The restaurant recently opened so it was fresh and new and very clean. Not too loud even though it was crowded. On to the food. Cheese Curds - I have had the good fortune to travel throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota and have some of the best cheese curds around. These are not that. So oily and lacked flavor. Do not recommend. Jucy Lucy - again, have had the good fortune to visit Matt's in Minneapolis. The originator of the Jucy Lucy. This version is pathetic. I hate to be so blunt but it is truly below average. Not much cheese and lukewarm at best in temp. The whole thing lacked flavor. The OG - their signature burger. Gotta be honest again - it is an average burger. Nothing special about it at all. Loved this spot in Optimist Hall and now they opened a location right by me! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was not too crowded. The staff was super friendly! I've eaten at Harriet's at Optimus Hall and this location was just as delicious! You order at the register, and the server was very friendly and helpful. The young man who brought the food to our table was just as cute as he could be. Smiling and excited for us to try the food. The seating is padded benches against the windows but no backed stools on the other side of the table so this might be harder for older clientele to sit comfortably. But over all a great location, good food but very pricy for fast foodish hamburgers. read more

I was excited to try Harriet's after hearing good things, but I left a little disappointed. The burger wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. My biggest issue was the amount of sauce. There was so much that the entire burger ended up wet and messy, making it hard to enjoy the flavors. The bun also seemed heavily buttered, which wasn't my preference. I would definitely order the sauce on the side next time and ask for a less buttery bun. The flavor of the fries resembled those from Sonic drive inn which added a bit of crunchiness. But the soda was otherworld. Maybe the best burger in Charlotte? At least according to the people in our house. We stopped after having gone to a nearby restaurant the previous day, and were really surprised by the quality. We've already been back 4x the fam likes it so much. The menu is sparse, but it's fine, because all you need is the burger to be hooked. The fries are good and crispy, but the cheese curds by themselves are reason enough to go. Interesting choice of sauces make for a unique twist. They have cane sugar sodas which are a little meh - the diet is not great, but again, the burger is so good you just don't care. Better than 5 Guys, and less expensive. Ace No. 3 is a close competitor, but nothing else comes close. Just go try it, you won't be disappointed! Dining room isn't big, but it's clean and the retro graphics and chrome are a nice touch. It's my first visit to a Harriet's so I didn't know what to expect. Kudos on marketing because stopping wasn't our initial intention, but the outside seating and colors sparked our interest. The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Understandably it's a new location, however, I feel there should be a bit more training in their knowledge of the differences in the sauces. I must say the burgers are delicious!! I appreciate the cane sugar fountain drinks and want to try them all. I wasn't a fan of the basil lemonade but went with the watermelon drink. Was my first time here, everyone was so nice and polite so that definitely boosted my experience. The burger is HEAVENLY. It's like the gods themselves came down and blessed my mouth good. I truly had a 5 star experience. The Royal, fries and black cherry soda. The burger was hunch worthy and a jaw opening size . They loaded it with lettuce and pickles which made each bite crispy and fresh. The fries were first to go since I was driving away with this "combo". They were perfectly cooked, hot and crispy. The soda was a craft like soda but the ice made all the difference. The inside was bright and clean. The location positioned next to Bossy B is very smart for both businesses. The best burger in Charlotte? Maybe because we haven't found a great burger in Charlotte. On the positive, the retro vibe and decore is fun. The restaurant was well staffed with nice and seemingly well trained people. The cheese curds and fries were crunchy and pretty good. I had the Diet Cane Cola and while it wasn't bad, there wasn't much flavor. The sad part is that my wife didn't eat much of the OG burger. I ate my Royale but we both were underwhelmed. Neither had much flavor in the meat nor the sauce. When the food came out, the food smelled fishy to both of us, and me, being a very un picky eater ate the whole thing. The bill came to $38 for the two of us and my wife made the comment that this wasn't a $10 burger. I disagreed. It wasn't a $4 burger. The fries and curds were worth the price though.
