So happy for the residents and neighbors of Canton and Brewers Hill -- they needed an alternative to the only grocery, Safeway. And, this Harris Teeter is what Safeway was, but, did not turn out to be. The Deli needs much more organization, however. And, that entire area, near the Deli needs to be more open. Everything else, is the GREAT Harris Teeter shopping experience. This store is going to make a lot of money. But, needs to make the shopping flow accommodate the number of shoppers that will patronize this store. read more

On the physical location, it is gorgeous. You walk in, it is clean, easy to find things. It's a noticeably nice store. The sales are amazing. A lot of things go out of stock frequently, which I am sure it is not a problem they think they have. Not just fresh foods but canned/boxed stuff, they might not restock for a week. They hardly ever have enough cash registers open either. Walking in is aesthetically pleasing but not really good for if you are just wanting to get in and out. But that really isn't the experience I am trying to warn you about. It is the current staff. I have been ordering my groceries online from Harris Teeter for almost 3 years now. When I discovered that they could package up what I needed and we could drive about 15 minutes to get it, I was sold. The staff has always been nice and friendly when I called. They have always righted a wrong. If something got left out, it would be put in the next order. If they didn't scan something for a sale they would give you the free items in your next order. The one thing that did suck was their produce. For the most part, we stopped ordering that from them a long time ago. Without fail, every time we would request any fruit something would have mold on it or be like 2 hours away from sprouting mold and the shoppers for my orders never cared. None of them. A week ago, it is cherry season and I was like, there is no way that they will give me something rotting right away. But, I should have gone with my instinct to not get their produce. All the cherries were soft and wrinkly. Every single one. I had to throw them out immediately. Now, I know I told you the staff has always been awesome, but that has changed recently. We didn't get groceries from HT from March to May because we were trying out Amazon Fresh but it just wasn't the same for me. So maybe something happened with management there or something that would make the employees start to realllllly not give any cares about the place. I am going to assume that is what is up. A shopper I have gotten a few times was Latrice. She was on point back in the day. She never messed up an order, always made sure I got my call. Well last week, she didn't call me. I was irritated because you can't go until they call to say the order is ready and it was like 3 minutes until it was supposed to be done. I had my husband call because I was working and they tried to play like she had called me. My husband was talking to them and I don't remember quite what was being said but I was like, hold on, hand me the phone. I stopped working because it sounded off. I have HT's number saved to my phone guys, I ordered from there so often. No call, no voicemail. She had to have called the wrong number. HAD TO HAVE. I was mad though. She said she did. There were a lot of substitutions. If they don't have something you ordered, you can opt for subs in their place. She told me them and then that was it. I didn't think anything else of it. Well. This week I ordered again, thinking heck yes, back into the groove of ordering from HT. But today I got a call from someone, didn't sound like Latrice who wanted to make sure my phone worked. Straight up told me she hadn't shopped my order, called me Mr., I promise I don't sound like a Mr. Anything. then was just like, wanted to make sure your phone worked before we shopped anything. Then she hung up. Like, I know that sounds like it isn't a big deal but the tone. The real "wanted to make sure you know you are crazy" tone behind it was wild. Moral of the story: If you are going to shop here, don't do the ordering online thing (I am 100% going to miss it) The staff has gotten noticeably rude. Also, if you have to drive more than 10 mins to get here, I would just go elsewhere as well because they probably won't have what you are looking for. Weis and Safeway are perfectly good alternatives. If you live in the White Marsh area like me, it would probably be more worth your time to drive to Wegman's in Bel Air. This isn't just me. This has happened to another friend who I thought she just had a bad day and wanted me to quit the HT with her. She can tell her own story when she decides to get around to it. read more

My wife and I are locals and we have shopped here A LOT. However, I recently noticed a lady and her husband with a small Chihuahua dog sitting in their cart. I let the manager know and he said there was nothing he could do about it which I disagree 100%! He said it might be an ADA dog which it wasnt. That dog needed an ADA dog. Plenty of parking, and seemingly lower prices than my regular grocery story. Also, every employee that I encountered was extremely friendly and their inquiries if I needed help seemed genuine. SUMMARY: Suburban grocery bliss, right in Baltimore. FULL STORY: I've been missing Harris Teeter since my days in NC and DC. I mean, ok, I like a farmers' market stroll and home-grown basil as much as the next person. But be serious. Sometimes you just need to head out from work, pick up your bananas and cereal and almond milk or whatever, and get on with the "cooking" (or in my case, pouring). This place is big and takes some orienting before you figure out what's where. Other than that, it's pretty awesome. Always seems to be running smoothly, things getting re-organized, people ready to help out, everything in stock, lines not super long... In general I think the produce is really good. Avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, bananas, clementines, lemons... have all been fine. They have a decent organic section so you can pick and choose which things you prefer pesticide-free. They have a good "international" foods section where you can get McVitie's biscuits! They also have a ton of prepared foods, salad bar, pizza station, and a trail mix bar, none of which I've tried... one small first-world gripe is that there are no vegetarian sushi options. So haven't tried that either. Cashiers have been really nice and helpful. They always pack things well and help you gather up the grocery bags to take outside -- a nice touch. Lots of parking. Good specials with the loyalty card. And I really like the pull-out (not slide-and-smash-your-finger) clear doors in the cold section. Other small gripe is sometimes they clean or do something with the parking lot in the evening that makes a ton of dust. Can't be healthy... Note: Their reusable grocery bags are strong and hold a lot. If one breaks, they replace it. read more

I always enjoy being tempted by the sushi selections, the hot bars, and the fresh seafood . But I find that some other essential items in the store are more expensive than they are at Target next door. I have been able to find good bargains with my VIC card, however. Customer service is excellent, though, and HT is a good place to go if you want to prepare a special dinner or just treat yourself. read more

I'm a native Southern California gal, so I've never been to this new and exciting "Harris Teeter" before. Waited, and waited, and waited, for it to open. I even had a mother eff'in coupon. But sadly, it's just like all other uninspiring grocery stores. Nothing like the well-deserved-hyped Wegmans (which is like a grocery store on crack). Reminded me of a supermarket/Walmart. I got Dukes mayo. This blows Safeway, Shoppers and Giant out of the water. The location is brand new and immaculate. The staff (so far) has been courteous and helpful. The prices are a little too high but it's worth all of the pro's. Parking can be a bit rough, but remember you are in the city and parking is never assumed to be easy anyway. Went to HT today for lunch. I got an enormous salad and BBQ chicken pizza. The pizza was on point even though it didn't taste very much like BBQ. It was still good. The salad bar price is awesome at 5.99 lb... So excited to move to the area. read more

I love this place! I can't afford to do my regular shopping here, but I come here for lunch at least once a week. The deli and salad bar are always on point. In addition to a typical hot food bar, they have pizza by the slice and Asian food. The bakery has a beautiful rainbow cake that is as delicious as it is pretty. I've got the sushi before too and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and always asks if you have any questions about anything. read more

I enjoy shopping at this Harris Teeter because one it's the closest to my house and I love their selection of items. The store is always clean and fresh! The Harris Teeter staff are very friendly except for one occasion which I emailed the store manager, Chip Schurr about my experience that day. Chip called me the next day and wanted to apologize and thank me in bringing to his attention. I was surprised to receive his message and a Christmas card with a nice gift! I, thank you Chip! He didn't have to do that but it makes a HUGE difference. That top notch customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction is what keeps customers keep coming back and spreading good reviews like this one. Came here on 9/22/16. This is my first time in this location. Initially I was impressed by how clean it was and the service I received. However I was hoping to buy spinach but didn't because every bag looked wilted. That should have told me not to buy their produce but I did. I got tomatoes (cherry) mangoes and some lettuce. When I got back and began preparing dinner I found all the produce to be completely rotten. The. Tomatoes were in particular full of mold. Shame on you! read more

I live within walking distance to 4 grocery stores but will gladly always take the 20 minute ride to this one. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, the prices are amazing. There are just not enough words to describe how amazing this place is. Anyone who is old enough to remember when grocery stores had that friendly neighborhood feeling well love this place. I have been going to this grocery store since they first opened in this location and I am in Love! I used to frequent another grocery store, but found that the prices and produce quality are better here. The food is always fresh and when they have sales they are great as well as coordinating with what is happening during the calendar year, i.e. back to school lunch items on sale. I shop the online pickup at Harris Teeters. It's a great thing to order and go pick up your groceries. The people that work in the online shopping area are always so helpful and polite. The employees are extremely helpful, the selection is crazy good, and the likelihood that you'll find that hard to find ingredient is very good. I shop here all the time and although I've seen some reviews complaining about the prices I have this to say: grocery stores charge slightly more for the connivence of not having to go to Wally World. I wanted to love HT. I was excited, and so happy they sent new customer coupons. The excitement faded quickly - HT is WAY overpriced. $8.99 for the same 10 oz bag of Quinoa I buy at Safeway for $5.99. A 50% markup!? For what!? It's impeccably clean, has a great selection, the produce looked great and I'm sure the stafff is friendly and all that, but it's just not worth the upcharge, especially with all the upgrades Safeway has recently made in anticipation of the competition. This store is great, but the deli is horrible. There is rarely anyone there actually working. Friday they run a sandwich special, but today no one was working and finally, when someone did make it over there, they had no bread or meat cut. Seems like a completely mis-managed mess. This is regular problem. But the rest of the store is fine. I'll shop this Harris Teeter if I only need a couple of center store items, but the deli keeps me from making it my go to supermarket, unfortunately. read more

I was recently shopping at this location yesterday and was treated so swell by Karen in the seafood department. I was in line patiently , it was a little crowed due to the July 4th holiday. The man in front of me purchased the last few salmon steaks that I had my eye on to purchase. I was so disappointed when I was advised that they had no more ... I stood there for about 10-15 minutes trying to decide on my next option. Karen came to me and said let me check the back and see what I can do. Minutes later she came back out carrying a huge salmon and said give me a few minutes and I will cut it for you. She mad my day!! She gave me what I wanted within 5 min. Not hesitating to do her job.
