We both went with the early bird special him an open face roast beef sandwich with a double order of fries and me the meatloaf with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. WOW! Worst diner in South Jersey? Should have heeded previous reviews. My dining partner got the salad. If you could call it that. Really weak lettuce, some shredded carrots and a bunch of stale croutons. How can a diner in South Jersey not put tomatoes in a salad? I had the turkey club. Not too bad but turkey was very dry. Do not upgrade to fries for $2.99 unless you can confirm that they will be either, A cooked. Or B warm. Preferably both. Mine were neither! Food was so poor almost forgot also did not bring napkins or setup until we asked when food came and took about 10 minutes for somebody to even ask about drinks. Just horrible! read more

While home visiting we were meeting a friend for breakfast and we decided to have breakfast at the Harrison House. I haven't been here in a while but I always remember them having a pretty decent breakfast. When you arrive it has a decent parking lot, the area does get busy on Thursday-Saturday with people visiting the Amish Market that is located behind it. When we arrived the parking lot was pretty empty and it was around 8am. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated at a table to wait for the rest of our party! Our waitress was very friendly and grabbed us drinks as we waited. Once everyone was there she came by to check-in again, and let us know to take our time (she knew we were catching up so she didn't bother us to put in the order so fast.) The dining room also filled up VERY fast like 10-15 minutes after we got there! We put our order in, I got the two eggs and style and it came with home fries, toast and I added on an order of bacon, extra crispy. My Fiancée ordered the chunky monkey pancakes which were peanut butter chip pancakes topped with fresh bananas, walnuts, and Nutella. My dish was very good! I loved the home fries, which is something I don't get often living on the West Coast! The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the eggs as well! Overall my dish hit the mark perfectly! My Fiancée's dish was very good as well! She did say that if you love a sweet breakfast, this is definitely something you should order! They do not skimp out on topping the hotcakes with Nutella or walnuts and she said that it was really delicious! Overall, we had a great experience here. It's an average Diner in south Jersey so don't expect 5-star butler service. I've passed this place a lot and it's always packed. I learned today the people who go here have a gutter pallet. Not only is the food tasteless but their prices are very high for the lack of quality. If I went to the bathroom before ordering I would have walked out. The bathrooms are unsanitary. There are actual mouse droppings in the corners. I wonder what the kitchen looks like. We ordered -2 coffees -avocado toast -short stack -home fries $48 All the food was bland. In reference the next day we at bfast at the Mad Batter in Cape May. We ordered more food and it was the same price. Also the quality was a lot better. This is a community staple. My son calls it the tea cup diner because of the logo. Today I ordered my staple from when I was a teenager - the continental- croissant with provolone cheese, fried egg, and tomato with home fries. Just the way I remembered it. The home fries were delicious. The little man had the mini hot cakes with chocolate chips, they use the mini chips which is more ideal. He ate 2 and we brought 2 home. I ordered an eggs Benedict Florentine, a regular Beni was put in to order not the Florentine I asked for,. and when it was brought out, it was placed on a round tray and left there for a good while while the server was off doing something else. When she finally came back I said I had egg's Benedict Florentine she asks the other server if she had that and she said no, so she says I will add some spinach for you. The only thing I had ordered was a side of home fries and a side of sausage. Food was ok. the last 3 times had a party of 8-12, food came cold for a few of us, fried flounder was over cookd 2 times. fries were mostly cold, burgers are dry, seems partys more then 6 seems a little too much for the kitchen. food come in spurts. I have driven by this place several times, but this was our first time to stop. Service was friendly but let's just say laid-back with long gaps even though lots of empty tables. We sampled the Ruben and the chicken cheesesteak. Both are very good and I would say the chicken cheesesteak with the addition of grilled onions that I requested was excellent. Both come with chips which I think should be fries but they charge you another two or three dollars for fries, which makes for too pricey a lunch at a diner. The only complaint I really had was the coleslaw. It was delicious but it comes in such a small portion, the container only allowed for two small bites. Why even bother? I really would've liked more of it. Most diners are known for their desserts. Harrison House may have great desserts but frankly none of the options appealed to us. read more

I feel like the chef has given up. The meat loaf was mealy, flavorless and plated as for a pet. The coffee that came free with the meal was burnt, bitter and tar like. The bathrooms were in need if cleaning, painting and some sign of caring. The salad was delicious and fresh, and the staff are delightful. This place was crazy busy with a full lot when we stopped here for dinner Saturday. We were seated immediately by the hostess but then it took 10+ minutes for literally anyone to acknowledge us. Our waitress definitely had her hands full, table wise, but it took forever for us to even get water brought to the table when it seemed like the tables on either side of us were getting everything they needed.I will say she was very nice though; I wanted to get one of the specials with no protein and none of the salad, bread, tea, pie slice and she found it would cost basically the same due to the sauce. She came back out to tell us that and since I did want a salad also, I got the special. (It was shrimp penne a la vodka sauce with side salad, tea or coffee, and pie) Now, I absolutely love a good penne a la vodka sauce; it's my jam. However, while it was decent, I could have done without the obscene amount of sundried tomatoes and scorched mushrooms that took up about 1/2 of the plate. The pasta itself and the sauce that accompanied it was fine. I was not impressed with my cherry pie that I took to go since I was full. We did have to ask for it though, even though it was included with the specials we ordered. While it was a decent portion, the crust was thick for a pie; it reminded me of the crust on a Stromboli vs a pie. My grandmother loved her pumpkin pie slice though so maybe I'll give that a try next time. Overall, it is a solid choice for comfort food though and I'm sure we'll be back again. read more

We've been here a few times and all but one was a good experience. It's a standard diner, meaning a plethora of options! The crowd is fairly steady, but they do a nice job of seating people quickly and efficiently (expect a 5-10 minute wait during peak times). We've tried a few different items here and all have been good with the exception of the Cold Tuna Salad platter (may have just been an off-day though). The service is always good, with friendly and attentive waitresses. All in all, a solid and dependable diner! As far as diners go, decent! Way better than Hollywood Cafe (Diner? Whatever it is). My boyfriend and I drove past the establishment last night and decided to add it to our list of restaurants to try in the area, as he is still adjusting to his new neighborhood. Since it's a rainy, Sunday evening we ordered in via Doordash. For some reason, I always go for gyros at diners- this time I went with lamb as my protein. A nicely constructed gyro and well wrapped. Nothing worst than a gyro you can't pick up with your hands, am I right?! The tzatziki was a little watery but I'll let it slide. Fabulous coleslaw on the side! My boyfriend got the Turkey club and it was everything you'd expect of a club. I had a bite and can confirm it was good. Both meals came with chips which have now been relocated to the pantry. To share, we got the disco fries (sauces on the side). A bit too soggy, but might be since fries don't travel foo well. Otherwise tasty! Looking forward to trying the breakfast menu. read more

The place is clean. Simple. What you expect of a diner. But the menu pricing is surprising to say the least. 13.49 for a kids meal of 2 sliders and fries. I understand pricing has gone up but the food quality does not match the price here. It's your simple frozen US food/Sysco restaurant quality with a homemade or inner city price tag. On top of this looking at the bill found that an appetizer was actually charged $2 more than the menu states. As if the prices were not high enough already.
