No complaints. Fireside felt like eating at small private school cafeteria. It's intimate, and isn't over the top, but still really nice and you know that they are going to be serving you some good stuff. The servers were really nice, the food was good, the price was reasonable, etc, etc, etc. The parking situation is a bit of a kerfuffle, as it's situated along a very busy road, and the lot is pretty tight, and oddly angled, so if you come in from the wrong side, you are in for a lot of maneuvering. A happy choice even though I was rushing due to a meeting I was headed to. I felt welcomed as I walked into this diner and was offered a booth or a table. The resonating din of the room reflected happy breakfast people. I could see why as the wait staff floated from table to table with smiled offering coffee refills while listening to requests. Fireside has quickly become one of FAVORITE local breakfast spots. The service every single time we have visited has been great. We have never had to wait, even when the place is packed. On our most recent visit I tried the cheesesteak Benedict and we got the caramel pecan cheesecake crepes to share. They have so many unique breakfast options and everything is always so delicious. The breakfast menu included a vast selection of meals for a very reasonable price. I ordered the pecan pancakes short stack with a side of sausage. The portion size was enough for two. The pancakes were crispy in the outside while still remaining light and fluffy and were served with real maple syrup. The sausage was big and juicy. We had a fireside table which made for an intimate feeling. They had a daily special board with a several selections of chef's specials which looked enticing. I've visited this place a few times before and never had any issues. My orders have always been correct, the food consistently delicious, and well-prepared. However, my recent experience left me a bit disappointed due to the service. We were only there for about 45 minutes when we were asked to wrap up our visit because there were other guests waiting for a table. While I understand the need to keep things moving during busy times, the way it was handled could have been much better. The first time, one of the hostess approached us and politely let us know, which we appreciated. But no more than 2 minutes later, another waitress from a different section came by with a much less friendly attitude and very bluntly told us we needed to leave. It's been over 6 years since I left a review for Fireside. Hubs and I stopped in for brunch. We each weren't sure if we wanted breakfast or lunch so this was a great choice. The friendly server brought me my short stack of pancakes with sausage (the thick links!). My husband had an omelette (I can't remember which one). The food was out quickly and was served hot! I have been here several times. The food is okay - not bad, but nothing outstanding. The service stinks. There is rarely anyone to greet you. If a waitress happens to be at the door, she'll seat you. Otherwise, you are just standing there wondering if they even see you waiting. From the name on the check, it looks like our server was named Gemze. She had a heavy accent and it was difficult to understand her at times. We asked for more coffee and she forgot about us. We had to track her down again. when she refilled my cup, it was so full, there was almost no room for the creamer.This is typical of this place. Of the three meals, 2 were cold and one was luke warm. Never has the food been hot. Then when she thought we were there long enough, she just put the check on the table. She never asked if we needed anything else. Finally, when they gave you the check, it does not have the total on it. It is just just itemized and when you get to the cashier, they total it up for you. Even though I have been there 3 or4 times, I am sure I won't be going back here again.
