I would never return to this restaurant if I were to return to Destin. They apparently do not do to go orders. I placed 175.00 worth of food and they just brought it out, with to go boxes and had me boxed it myself. There attitudes were very rude. So first off, this place SHOULD be great. Beautiful view, awesome location, super popular. However, two nights in a row it was impossible to get service. Upon entering this is a "Seat yourself" restaurant. Which can justify a couple of minutes of waiting when the restaurant is very busy. But not when there are four tables in the restaurant. They were four large tables (trying to give grace where grace is due). We caught Eye contact with multiple servers (the cue for service in the industry). The first contact we had was with the manager, who was standing in the corner not doing much except for barking orders to the servers. The manager then offered our first round of drinks on him. However I had already gone to the bar in order drinks and paid for them. We ended up staying for a second round for this reason, however the drinks were never comped. The server then all but kicked us out, telling us that we could take our drinks with us, cutting off the heater next to us, and asking if he could bring the check. Mind you Google says they did not close until 10 o'clock. It was 8:33. He did say that the kitchen closed at 8:30 and the bar gave last call at 8:45. We then realized that other heaters were left on in the restaurant, it was just ours that they cut off. Don't go to this place. Friends and I were looking for a low key brunch with bottomless mimosas. We got our first round, all was good. Bottle girl goes around filling everyones but miss our table every time when our glasses were empty. Get our food, my friend's omelette has a HAIR in it. Food was so-so. Finally, the bottle girl starts coming around to our table and we feel uncomfortably shamed into tipping to keep her coming. When she comes around and asks us what else we have planned for the day, we tell her we were going on a sunset boat ride to see dolphins, to which she tells us "That's so gay", seemingly drunk or something of the sort. The first night in Destin (and my first REAL beach vacation), I was so excited to eat at an authentic, on-the-water seafood resturaunt. My expectations were set way too high for this place. 1st is for view!! So beautiful and relaxing on the patio. Although the tables were a little too small for 4 people. 2nd is for taste. The food, despite the overpriced menu, was decent. I was disappointed that I didn't get rice with my cup of gumbo though. Everything else was not worth the visit. The prices were all nearly doubled for everything on the menu compared to other places. The server rarely came to check on us, and even acted like we were more of a burden versus a patron helping her paycheck. I was not allowed to order off of the kids menu. We definitely had better experiences and better food later in our visit to Destin. My personal opinion... Don't waste your time or hard earned money. read more

Can a brunch getting any better? Spending a Sunday sipping all you can drink mimosas while hanging out on a patio that overlooks the emerald sea? I can't think of a better situation, I'd rather be in. Theresa was our server, she was awesome, got us everything we needed, took very good care of us, her service alone gets 5 stars. We can't wait to see her again for brunch. We've made every Sunday Harry T's day. We ordered the crab soup for appetizer. My boyfriend loved his soup, he had all the huge chunks of crab, that MY soup was missing. I just looked at my soup without any crab and just sighed as I watched my boyfriend spoonful after spoonful getting lucky with huge pieces of crab. Then we shared the Crustacean Fantasea, it was 1 1/2lbs. of King crab legs, 1lb of mussels, and a dozen oysters and one pound of perfectly cooked succulent prawns. The prawns were so large that two bites of one prawn filled my tummy, I had to wait to get hungry again. We just started. For a fair price under 90.00 for this entree you can feed 4 hungry adults generous portions. The crab is what I focused on the most, the crabs were extra large and super meaty. I normally don't like steamed oysters and I was hoping for raw oysters, but the steamed oysters were so good, I ate almost all of them, I did make sure my boyfriend ate his fair share for their aphrodisiac effect. My boyfriend and I didn't know what to do with that much seafood, we were in over our heads. The seafood alone gets 5 stars. We had an amazing experience, and we gladly hit up Harry T's every Sunday. In Destin, every brunch place open has a wait, Harry T's does not. It is very large and spacious as most the brunch places in Destin are tiny. I really must have had a bad experience and it was honestly all because of the waiter when our group of 10 sat at the table, not to mention the food being incredibly overpriced. This place looks like any other seafood place out on the beach, so the decor wasn't surprising. Our group was sat outside at a huge table with a lazy susan, I thought that was cool, and we made use of it to pass around food. We ordered our drinks and scanned the menu for anything that looked appealing. The wind started picking up, and we were in a section that didn't have heat lamps. Our whole group was freezing. We asked to move to an empty table, we could see some, but since they weren't that particular waiters table, he would not move us. Nevertheless, we all suffered, freezing there. The food better be darn good. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi pasta, others ordered Alaskan Crab Legs (mistake), a burger, fried seafood baskets, etc. My plate was delicious. The shrimp were plentiful and the pasta was cooked well. The bread rolls at this place are to die for! Others were not so lucky with their food. The crab legs were a bust, and I am pretty sure they paid 80 something bucks for them, when they probably could have gone to a Chinese buffet and paid less for the same quality. Had Harry's on a Sunday night & the wait was about 20 mins which wasn't bad. I had high hopes for solid seafood but was disappointed. I had the Acadian Fish & Shrimp with cheese grits & roasted potatoes. Overall it wasn't bad. The sauce was great. My wife had Alfredo w shrimp. She gave it a 2 star. Not a lot of flavor. Walked in around 5:30, no wait. Was greeted with a smile and continued to be seated. The food was delicious. Our party had the fried shrimp, shrimp and grits and coconut shrimp. All was prepared perfectly. Service was on point. Was in and out in less than a hour. Great bar! Great location. Walk around after dinner and see what the fishing boats are bringing in for the day or have a funnel cake at one of the food trailers. Absolutely worth the visit. So we brought our dogs down to the beach for the weekend and I was a little upset at the lack of dog-friendly places. We stumbled upon a dog bakery in Fort Walton and the lady that worked there suggested we go to Harry T's because they allow dogs. It took us FOREVER the find the place since it seems to have at least 2 older (and now closed) locations...but we finally found it thanks to the cute old man who drives around in the Harry T's golf cart and offered to take us there. It's in a cute little area of the boardwalk with a few shops, other eateries and a hotel. They seated us in the back, on the boardwalk, and brought our two little Pugs a water bowl. Apparently bringing your dogs guarantees you the perfect table, otherwise you might be stuck inside without the amazing view and ocean breeze. The food was fine, slightly over-priced (I ordered a brunch dish with eggs, potatoes, toast and fruit for $12) but since our pooches were allowed at the table we can't complain! The staff all seemed really friendly, a few other servers came down to say hi to our dogs. We even struck up conversations with the patrons on either side of us. Just generally a relaxing, chill kind of place. We also had the bottomless champagne (served from 10-2), which just made it all the better. Sipping Mimosas while watching the boats go by? A wonderful Sunday! Will definitely go back anytime we have the dogs with us and maybe even without them. read more

I've been coming to Harry T's since back in the day when they were located at the old Yacht Club on 98. In fact, (pre-marriage), Harry T's holds a special place in my heart. Why you ask. Well, when in my mid to late twenties, this was the original COUGAR TOWN! Many of nights, I left and woke up in either my condo, or some married woman's room, with a headache, and slight recollection of the previous evenings festivities. Fast forward to the summer of '13. Married {smiles} and coming to Destin with my 2 year old son, and the in-laws...yes, the in-laws. Unfortunately, these days, there are no more Cougar sightings (at least in the early evening), and no more power drinking. Actually, Harry T's is now in a bigger, and new location in the trendy Harborwalk Village. However, there's still fun to be had. Read on. Harry T's somewhat sold out, but I don't blame them. They're in the best location money can buy, and directly on the water, with views of the boats coming in to dock. The food is average, and overpriced, but they have a great bar with an above average selection of liquor and beer. Yeungling on tap. Yep, sold. I even got the in-laws to kick back a few. Pretty good service, great location, average food, and typical high tourist prices. Probably a 3 star type of establishment, but considering all of the gifts Harry gave me back in the day, they get an upgrade:) If I ever get a divorce, mark Harry T's as one of my first stops. read more

This is one of the Big Fish Houses here in Destin. The food and drink menu is much the same as you will find anywhere else. Some of you will love it, some not so much. But their upstairs, open air bar is one hell of a great place to go have drinks and appetizers. There's a great view of Destin Harbor, the pass, the Destin Bridge and is a great spot for watching the sun go down (other than the beach, of course). Their hours of operation during the Spring and Fall months are pretty spotty, and it gets kind of hot and loud during the Summer. I also don't recommend coming for the live music; it's extremely loud and doesn't make for good atmosphere. But when the weather around here is warming up or cooling off, this upstairs bar is the place to be. read more

But ... if I pay 19$ for a sandwich I do not want a roach running over my hand . The staff was super nice and professional, they informed the manager. That's where the issue escalated ... the manager came to our table , not a bit apologetic about a roach running over my hand twice... she told me that's a common issue because it's Florida!!! I had the blackened mahi sandwich with onion rings. The mahi was delicious. It came on ciabatta bread. Our server suggested that I try the diablo sauce with my sandwich. It was a great suggestion. If you like seafood of all types and cooking methods, Harry T's is a descent option on the boardwalk, and maybe one of the better places in Destin. Everything I've had to eat here over several visits has been solid. Additionally, and most importantly, the outdoor deck seating is great. When the weather is pleasant, there is nothing better than enjoying a wonderful seafood dinner out on the patio overlooking the harbor. We love to go out there for an early dinner while we watch the fishing boats come in off the gulf. Service is medium... we've had several instances where we thought it could be better, but the food quality is good enough to keep us coming back. BOTTOM LINE: Pretty good seafood and a great view here in Destin. Not my favorite option on the harbor, but not bad. read more

So we have been here before, mainly for the view. Nothing good or bad, but we came on a Thursday for the fireworks to watch while we ate. We put our names down at 8pm, was told would be an hour which would be great as fireworks started at 9. They page us in the middle of the fireworks. Why? Either page people before or after. Get seated, waitress was nice but sat for an hour. We had 3 different orders come to our table that didn't belong to us. My youngest got his meal and nothing else came. I ordered a drink that I never got. The waitress said she was sorry when it happened the first time and would send us dessert. However once it happened the third time she never showed back up to any of her tables. The table behind us also spoke to mgr but by this time my husband got up and said wasn't waiting. The mgr just says sorry. So needless to say we won't be returning, there are other places with a view. read more
