Date of visit: August 10, 2025 We needed a respite from the floods (and lack of power!) in our neighborhood and so we took a quick drive over to Harry's Bar and Grill in Shorewood. Love that I can make a reservation through OpenTable and not have to wait, but bummed that they didn't acknowledge my note about the flooding. I wish they wouldn't even allow comments if no one actually reads them... Service was very good, Sylvia made sure that we had plenty of water and kept the iced tea for our friend coming, too. I went with the Whiskey Roadhouse Burger, which had a very tangy barbecue sauce and the menu indicated caramelized apples, which sounded intriguing. Sadly, they were more warmed than caramelized. Food is inconsistently spicy! Some times it is and sometimes it's not. Tonight it was TOO spicy!

I got a Rueben sandwich and it was pretty good. I wish there was a little more sauce on it. My boyfriend got a falafel pita without tomatoes and it came with tomatoes. The service was a 7/10 because she didn't check in with us as much as we'd like and to start we were the only people in there. The ambiance was good but kind of dark. read more

Had a group of 10 celebrating a birthday. Walked in and had to wait for our table. We brought a cake with us. Manager saw this! The food was good and our server was great. He apologized about the "Outside Cake Fee" when giving the bill. He tried to get it removed but was overruled by management. My issue is this, the manager saw the cake when I checked in with her! She should have mentioned the fee Then and There! We could have decided to not have cake there but take it home instead! You don't wait until AFTER THE FACT!!! It's the Cheers of the area. Everybody seems to know everyone. It's very cozy and they have a great happy hour. It's elevated bar food that is pretty solid. Service was attentive so that they made sure we got in all of our cocktails before the happy hour ended. read more

It's been a few years since I last ate at Harry's Bar and Grill and not sure if it was the brunch menu or if the food has gone south as well as the service. Service: 2 stars. Our waiter started off strong with taking our food and drink order and then went downhill from there. He and the other two servers were too busy sitting at the bar talking then worrying about their tables or not talking in front of patrons. The only time the servers left the bar was when their pagers buzzed to bring out food to their tables. Our server never asked how our meal was or refilled my empty soda glass. Food: the chicken chili was good but the buffalo chicken wrap and the biscuits and gravy was meh. The items I do like on not in the brunch menu, but after this experience I'm not sure I would go back. To me this meal should be a 2.5 star review, but since that not an option will round up to 3. read more

Came to Harry's on a Friday and were turned away w/out a reservation. We made one for that next day (sat) at 4:00pm and it was practically empty yet they sat us in the back by the bathrooms... BATHROOMS: *Not cleaned at all. Decor was cute for Halloween but didn't make up for the rest of the meal. My opinion is more effort should be put towards the food and service here. FOOD: *Hummus app- hummus didn't rly have any particular flavor it comes w pita bread and some misc veggies. we had a hair in this but pretty much dissed it after getting it cause it wasn't very good. 4/10 *Rangoons app- tasted "fishy" but also was overcooked. didn't finish a single one. 1/10 *Smash burger- disappointed 6/10 *(2) Buffalo chicken wraps- there was not much for the lettuce or tomato's in this and was cold when it came. 3/10. *Chinese chicken salad- light and refreshing 8/10 needed a lil more dressing. *Portland slider burger- overall good but had another hair in it. 9/10 SERVICE: We had a group of 5 but they charged 20% for a large party gratuity. Despite being nearly empty our service was pretty crappy- she zoomed back and forth and didn't have time for check ins. It was not worth the %20 gratuity. I attached my receipt. Went to Harry's Bar and Grill with a group of 11. Called ahead and they were able to accommodate us. Staff was prompt, courteous, and very helpful. They had happy hour specials, dinner specials, and a regular menu as well. The portion sizes were really good. I ended up picking the grilled pear salad with grilled chicken, blueberries, and green goddess dressing and it was delicious. Sliders (3 with each order) from the happy hour menu were tasty and had a great meat to bun ratio. Liked the relaxed vine of Harry's. Would definitely recommend. read more

Eating out has gotten so expensive, but Harry's remains a great value with something for everyone at reasonable prices. Most of the items on the menu range from $14-16, with an addition of lovely entrees for a finer dining experience. In addition to sandwiches, burgers and fries, Harry's also offers an extensive list of delicious and unique salads that come with a protein. I love that they make it easy to eat healthy if you are still wanting to dine out. I got the Waldorf salad that came with freshly grilled chicken and a hazy IPA. In the past, I've also gotten the 7 vegetable salmon salad and the buffalo chicken wrap. It has all been amazing and the waffle fries are some of the best! We got there early on a Sunday evening and we're able to sit on the lovely outdoor patio. It looks like they also have a fire pit outside for when it gets colder. Been here before--nice area and a clean restaurant. It wasn't too busy but had a steady flow of people. The food was tasty, not too salty or oily. Service was good; the server checked in a few times, not overly attentive but not distracted either. The atmosphere was pleasant with some TVs showing the Packers game--not too loud, so you can still have a conversation. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch, whether you're alone, meeting someone, or with a group. I'll definitely come back. read more

Consistently bad service and below average food. Staff ignored us for 20-30 minutes after closing out, trying to pocket my $20 change for $12 drinks (they brought it back after I called it out). Overpriced, small portions for especially the apps. Crowded, with no help accommodating seating at the bar. Loud cringey music and TVs that play random stations, not relevant local sports. Waste of money and not worth the lack of respect. Multiple bad experiences here including inedible desserts and cocktails, plates taken before we finished, etc. Not recommended if you value your money and time. read more

We have gone to Harry's for years, either in a group or on our own. Our recent 5 visits have all been poor, especially if one of us was there on our own. The bartenders are consistently rude. The food has been really inconsistent, ending up with a bout of food poisoning in one recent visit. I will not be going back, and should have decided this $200 ago. If there was a way to have a conversation about it that would be better, but what's the use? There are a lot of other places to choose from, so that's a SeeYa to Harry's. Met friends here on Taco Thursday, however I ordered the Scallop BLT Salad with Candied Maple Bacon. It was SO GOOD! The scallops were cooked perfectly, and there was just the right amount of dressing to tie all the flavors in together. I always appreciate when restaurants offer not only healthier options, but creative ones as well. This is both! Coming here on a Thursday night, the place was busy and the bartender was slammed. I wasn't impressed by the food for starters. The waitstaff was very nice but the mozzarella sticks were nothing special from the cheesy sticks to the Marinera sauce. The Mediterranean platter was bland too and had very little flavor with sub par tahini and hummus sauces. Each plate was over 12$+ and definitely not worth it. Stop by for a drink while I worked last week and enjoyed the fantastic service and quick seating. I didn't eat here this time but I have several times before. As a vegetarian, they have a nice variety of veg friendly food. The food is delicious and well prepared. As far as alcohol, I mainly drink beer so I noticed they have several beer on tap, a mix of local and regional. They have (or did have pre-pandemic) a fantastic happy hour with both food and drinks. I got the Portland slider, a burger with cheese, bacon and an egg made to your liking. It comes with your choice of salad or fries. I went with the salad since I knew the burger was going to be filling. I went to pick up the order instead of eating there. When I got home they had put the salad next to the burger in the same box. I was expecting it to be separated. So, half of it was warm and partly wilted. Not so appetizing, at least to me. The burger was outstanding and very satisfying. read more

Found this spot during a Yelp search and we are glad we did! We made reservations easily on open table-preference for patio didn't work out but not the end of the world (their patio is nice but small). They had a wide variety of wine and beer, a few draft beers but mostly bottle. Also had a good cocktail list with seasonal specials as well. Mostly got cocktails and they were all delicious. The menu carries a wide variety, I didn't know what to pick! Between the four of us we had their Thai chicken tacos, short rib, chicken pita, and southwest burger and we all loved our meals. My favorite part for a non meat eater was being able to sub in an impossible patty for any of their burgers! Waffle fries were good too. We visited Harry's this week on a Wednesday evening. It was fairly busy, but we got a table right away! This was our first visit and it was a random decision. We really enjoyed our meal! The hummus was delicious. The pulled pork sliders were great. My husband and I split the brisket sandwich which was very unique and flavorful. The drinks were just OK. I had the Kentucky Mule and my husband tried the Snowy Paloma. I wouldn't get either again. The waiters were attentive and friendly. The restaurant is decorated for Christmas right now which made it feel cozy and fun. Great spot for a holiday party! We will be back and hope to have an equally great dinner. read more

Thave lived across the street from this place for like 7 months at this point, but I've only recently gotten around to trying it out. In retrospect this was a bad call because that reuben is to die for and now it's all I'm going to think about. I'll spare excessive detail but all you need to know is that those thick slabs of corned beef are just... divine. Drinks are solid too. The food was so good, I went twice in a week. I stopped by Harry's this past week for lunch with a friend and the food was fabulous. I had the chicken chili and shorewood salad. The food was delicious but a bit pricey. I saw that they had a happy hour that looked pretty great so decided to stop by a couple days later with some friends. And boy, did happy hour not disappoint! $5 cocktails and $5 small bites. The food was just as delicious and the drinks were strong and flowing. I would highly recommend this place for a happy hour spot, as the food and prices are right! The regular menu has some pricier items but the food and quantity is good. I did dock one star due to very slow service and the fact that there was a lot of noise (sounded like construction or a electric saw...at like 6pm) which really took away from the atmosphere read more

My husband and I used to come here all of the time when we lived in Whitefish Bay. Parking is sparse but we can usually get a spot in one of the two lots behind the building. There is usually a wait if you go on Friday or Saturday, so call ahead. If you stop by as a walk in, you might be able to find a spot at the bar but they don't have a lot of seating. I recommend trying one of their seasonal cocktails which are always creative. They did a pumpkin chai latte martini with bourbon that was delicious. On my list recent visit the bartenders' service was disappointing. I stood for a while without being greeted. While they were very busy, a nod of acknowledgment would have gone a long way especially from the bartender that spent five minutes chatting with the couple next to me while I waited. My martini had a lot of ice chunks in it which is a turn off as well. The dining area has a relaxed vibe to it but it can be quite noisy on a busy night. If you like fish, I highly recommend going for their fish fry because it's one of the best in Milwaukee. The beer batter is fluffy and crisp while the fish is nice and flakey. The waffle fries are a bonus. They revamped the menu and have a lot of interesting options like their buffalo burger, scallop BLT salad, and shrimp po boy. We ordered through uber eats and it was a disaster. When food arrived everything was cold. The blue gill were so fried and had an awful fishy flavor they were inedible. Stopped in for a light snack and drink after holiday shopping. Restaurant felt inviting, warm, and festive. I was happy to see that social distancing practices were being practiced. Our server Chloe was absolutely amazing. She was extremely personable and fun to interact with. Our son thought she was great.
