Went in on a weekday afternoon. A person at the bar had to call the bartender out from the back area to help me. When she arrived she completely lacked enthusiasm and I felt like an inconvenience to whatever she was doing in the back. I ordered an imported Mexican beer on tap. After serving me the bartender returned to the back area. And Holy smokes! The price was way to high for the beer! Was I at a trendy downtown happening night club? This has become one of our newer, preferred dive bars not terribly far from our house. It's pretty large, so there is always seating for everybody. They do tend to not have many workers there, usually just one bartender, and an occasional bar back. So it does take a while on a busier night for bartenders to get to you, but it's nothing like what you would see at a dance club or something LOL. The really cool thing about this place is that they do you karaoke! I want to say Fridays and Saturdays? I know Saturdays for sure. Sometimes they are pretty busy, lots of groups, other Saturdays they have hardly anybody. It's your typical dive bar, not the cleanest but not the most disgusting. They have four pool tables and a little restaurant that serves sub standard bar food. Burgers and fries, nothing I'd eat personally unless I was completely blitzed. You can get single shots of Jamison, that look more like doubles for five or six bucks, while other mixed drinks are more basically priced. Not a lot of discounts with all drinks, but if you're a shot and beer type of person, this is a good place. Very mixed clientele, from biker types, to gangster types, to your average Joe's. Came here for a friend of the SO's birthday party, and was super surprised that I had a fun time! Anyway, our drinks were good, and they were not expensive at all. We watched our friend have fun playing on one of the four pool tables in the center. The best part was there was a karaoke - karaoke jockey included! - setup in the corner and people were so about it! Though the SO was kinda a shyguy, he wouldn't duet with me so we just sang at the top of our lungs from the audience. My favorite performance of the night was "Linda" singing Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home". She really riled up the crowd. It seemed like there was a rotation of the same people performing, but I couldn't complain, most of them were really good! I believe there's also food served here, but I didn't get to try anything. Ok so we were getting our car repaired and this was in walking distance and open at 11am so why not, anything is better than sitting in the waiting room at a repair shop. Was glad we stopped by, cute lil bar with lots of pool tables, good jukebox and super nice bartender. Really wasn't planning on day drinking at 11am but couldn't resist to try some mixed drink special they had. Even got a few games of pool in. Yeah so I told to come here from local hotel staff. When i arrived i wondered if i car would still be outside once i left. I walked in with some friends, bar tender said she would be right with us, 20 minutes later come to find out happy hour though was currently in full action, did not include food until 2 more hours when the kitchen opened. I just read a review on here from an ex employee that is so far off base. When you get fired for not doing your job, move on with your miserable little life. Don't bash someone who gave you so many second chances. Joshua was hired as a bar tender. He didn't do well and the customers were not happy with his lack of personality. The manager and owner gave him a second chance by letting him bar back. Part of that position was to bus tables and wash dishes. He got so far behind that the bartender had to cool the glass in ice water before she could make a drink. She ended up doing his job for him. He just couldn't keep up. Harry and Debbie gave him another chance by teaching him how to cook. He was put in the kitchen. There were so many complaints about his cooking and he was not ringing up all of the orders. He preferred to play his guitar out front instead of cooking. He also guarded one of the pool tables so he could have it all to himself. Let me address another issue he seems to have. Harrys Lounge is a multi cultural blend of amazing people. There are bikers, clampers, business people, and college students. There is a wide variety of interesting people. I have heard only ONE customer use racist statements. She was sent on her way and told to not come back. People like that are not welcome there. As for Harry being homophobic, not the truth at all. I know of two lesbian couples that love going there because everyone is so respectful. I and my beautiful wife happen to be one of those couples. The karaoke show is one of the best in the entire Sacramento area. Bob has more songs with the latest songs than any other show. He makes you feel welcome and wanted. I've never seen anyone pissing, puking or grabbing "junk". I've seen people getting rough but it always gets taken care of right away. If someone does something that you are not comfortable with, someone will be there to help you. Its a very safe place. So, here's my honest review of Harrys Lounge. Great karaoke!!! Great bartenders!!! Great owners!!! Clean bathrooms. And ladies, you know you won't go back if the potty is nasty. So, you know he's going to keep them clean for us divas. The prices are right. With a new owner decided to check out the place again and like it so far. Went for a football game on Sunday few months ago and the crowd was great. Just stopped last week and the karaoke was great with a good crowd. They kept the 4 pool tables and expanded seating getting rid of junk. They just opened a restaurant but didn't try the food yet. Went there to enjoy karaoke for my fiance's sister's 21st birthday not expecting much. We ended up having a blast and loving the regulars, the bartender, the karaoke guy, everyone. We had a great night. Loved the mix of the crowd. The food was way above average bar food. The nachos were delicious. The drinks were well priced and delicious. The bartenders are awesome here. The food is normal bar food and I love the atmosphere. However, I hate that people smoke literally right outside the entrance. Smoking should be moved. It's what honestly makes me go much less often. I'm an asthmatic and I'm highly allergic to smoke. Harry should have people smoke out the entrance and to the right instead of in front of the door. Came here for the first time. Had fun! Played music, pool and darts, unfortunately the music players card system wasn't working had to get cash from the ATM $2.50 fee. So we are visiting this bar been here twice before and some obnoxious customer parks next to us out front and scrapes his mirror at which point tries to blame it on us and demand some kind of payment I'm not having it because that bogus so it's breaks into a huge argument where the customer car who's it is shows a gun and it gets ugly my husband trust and calms things down so we pay out tab and to keep the peace we pay the customer who claimed we scratched their car keeping the peace we go back the next day and we are not welcome for real where is the respect loyalty for the customer so after giving a tab of 90 dollars and giving the person outside 100 bucks to keep peace were penalized yeah shit ty ass values and bar read more
