This is the best restaurant in Carmichael! Great food and staff! Everyone is so nice.

My husband works in the area and he brought me here today. The building is equivalent to a mall food court, minus the shopping. We shared the French dip (which he's been raving about for years) and fried zucchini. I feel the need to say, I'm a snob about both, and they were equally amazing! The zucchini wasn't overly coated or overly cooked. The French dip was so good: meat super tender and the au jus sealed the deal! Our bartender/waitress Sara was personable and friendly. 1/14/26 we had a reservation at 6:30. The food is absolutely not good. Waitress forgot about us multiple times. Water and paid for beverages weren't refilled. If you had a problem with the food. Greasy onion rings. Over cooked chicken breast. Bland Mac and cheese, tasteless fish and chips. Only a discount was offered. The offer to remake the food wasn't offered. We had a party of 9. The place wasn't busy. 3 tables of people and 2 of the waitstaff sitting at the bar eating. Our Waitress made an automatic $60 dollar tip because we had a party of 9. I've had better food and service at Little Caesar's. We were there at 6:30. Place closes at 8pm. They started putting chairs up on the tables at 6:45pm. It was so uncomfortable. When asked to speak to a manager. I was told the Manager was gone for the night just before 7:30pm. The place was leaderless. The pics on yelp over sell the place. I really like this place. Ive been here twice in the last month. They have a good selection of beers on tap and the food is really good too. Ive had a couple of the sandwiches, the turkey club and chicken club. The first time I got the Mac and cheese on the side, this time I got fries. I also tried the wings which were also really good. My daughter got the fried pickles and caesar salad, which she really liked. I will definitely be coming back again. read more

Stopped by River City Brewing Company last night with my wife, my son and my grandson. Grandson is 8 and a very picky eater but he swore he could find something he would eat off the menu. We all ordered something different. My wife had the steak sandwich, which she loved and would not share with anybody. My son had the french dip which he loved and would not share with anyone. My grandson had the chicken fingers which he loved and would not share with anyone. (and he ate every bite because a scoop of ice cream was on the line) I ordered the fish & chips. There were two good-sized pieces of fish, along with a plate full of french fries, a serving of cole slaw and a pickle wedge. The fish was perfectly done and not greasy inside or out. It's a perfect single serving size with no leftovers. The restaurant was BUSY but that didn't prevent our waiter from keeping our drinks topped off, empty plates removed, and bill brought promptly out. read more

Went to River City Brewing Company for dinner with a friend and had a really solid experience. We shared the onion rings and the Bavarian pretzel. The onion rings were honestly the best I've had in a long time. Super light, crispy, and flavorful! I ordered the chicken wings, which were pretty good, nothing mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. The space is a bit loud, but that's expected for a neighborhood bar vibe. Love this place. Good beer and great food. We love the Reuben Egg rolls and they did not disappoint!! Crunchy on the outside super tasty with plenty of meat. The dipping sauces. Mustard and thousand island were spot on. We also had the frito misto with calamari and artichoke hearts. Cook was nice and crispy and served with a cocktail sauce and an aioli. The aioli tasted like mayo to me but the cocktail sauce was great. The venue was nice very industrial with a patio out front with fans, umbrella's and a TV. The men's room needs some work. It was clean but the peeling wall paper behind the urinals made me question the whole state of the building. I met up with my sister. I had never been to this place, but she recommended it and I'm so glad that we went! It is a very family friendly place despite the brewery part. I enjoyed a huckleberry cider, which was really tasty. I also enjoyed a Portobello Sandwich. I asked for a gluten-free bun so I'm not quite sure if that was the difference, but it was quite small. It was really tasty though, and I was able to get a side. I can't say that I recommend the coleslaw. It was not very good, but the sandwich was amazing. The flavors were scrumptious. My sister got a burger with bacon and blue cheese and it looked wonderful for meat eaters! Her kid also got a little chicken meal that looked just perfect for a kid. Came with spinach instead of lettuce, no red onions, asked for sauce on the side but didn't get that or anything on the sandwich. The side of FIVE onions rings was laughable and very greasy. We went here on July 5th at 7pm. I called ahead to make sure there AC was blasting and I was told that they don't take same day reservations, but no worries there was plenty of seating. They have a private lot and we found parking in the shade. We were given the option of a table or a booth and we choose booth. We were right under the tv. Baseball was playing on all the TVs. We asked them if they could put the Copa America game on the TV above us and they did. The temperature was very pleasant inside even though it was 107 outside. We were quickly served water and our waiter came over quickly to take our drinks order. We had one person who had to take a call so soon as the call was over the waiter was back over to take our order. The waiter was very attentive and came over several times to see if we needed anything. I ordered the Garlic Asiago Crusted Chicken. I saw it featured on yelp and read the reviews and everyone raved about it. I almost got the spinach steak salad, but after reading the reviews I changed my mind. My girlfriend also got the Garlic Asiago Crusted Chicken. We both loved it. The chicken was encrusted with a nice crispy crust. It came with mashed potatoes, thick cut bacon chunks, and spinach. I wish there was a little more spinach, but I have no complaints. I highly recommend this dish and will order it next time. My hunny got the French dip. He said it was delicious and polished it off quickly. The meat was thinly sliced and was perfect. It came with a Caesar salad and he said that was really good too. My kids appreciated the expensive menu options. I personally thought the quality of chicken strips can be improved. It had that overly breaded and dry/freezer burn texture. This was my first visit & I ordered the French Dip sandwich. There was plenty of meat but meat itself was overcooked. I won't order that again but there are other things I'd like to try. What I enjoyed the most today were the onion rings - they were very good!! In addition I'd like to add that the ambiance was great and restaurant was clean. Our server was attentive and checked back with us throughout our experience. Can't wait to come back and try something different. I like supporting local businesses like River City Brewing, but my experience today with a friend of mine was just "OK". The interior of the place is huge, with seating in booths, tables and at the bar. It looks a little old and dated inside, but it was clean. The highlight of our visit was the service. We sat at a table in the bar and our server was a female bartender. She greeted us quickly and got our drinks, including a couple of beer tastings, in a very short amount of time. She knew the menu very well and was able to answer our questions about both food and beer. We tasted a few of the house made beers, but everything we tried was "meh" in flavor, so we ordered a couple of the other brands of tap beer. Food came out quickly, but again, what we ordered tasted like food from every other coffee shop/bar/pub/family restaurant in the metro area. It is almost like the menu and the people cooking it just move around from one place to the other. Not bad, just completely unremarkable. Not sure I will return. read more

I love this restaurant in the Milagro! I come here quite a bit for working lunches with coworkers and business partners and the service is always fantastic. We eat here every so often including before covid as well as bringing friends here and never had a meal appear not fresh. This includes food to go during covid. I've never had a margherita pizza with pesto. Plus I hate thick sliced tomatoes like on a burger. Very thin crust + way too much cheese + oily pesto + thick heavy tomatoes = super soggy pizza. River city brewing Company has been around for quite some time. It's one of many businesses in the Milagro center. I pretty much have been to every business in the Milagro center except for River city brewing Company. I was excited to try this place out with a friend. They just opened indoor seating up, so it was nice to be able to dine indoors and out of the heat. Each table has a bottle of hand sanitizer on it, which is a nice touch to assure cleanliness. Menus are available to view either on Yelp, or by using the scan code. Since it is vegan food month, I was looking forward to trying some thing different and possibly new. I was rather disappointed with the limited and blah offerings. I was hoping that they would have something rather creative, and could not find that on either their vegan or regular menu. I have been craving really great french fries, and the waitress suggested the bleu cheese fries with bleu oil. They sounded divine and I was excited to try them. The fries were barely warm, and tasted like they had been previously cooked, and had been sitting around waiting for an unsuspecting diner. Lucky me. The dipping sauce was tasty, and I will say that I like the fact that The fries were all different cuts of potatoes. My friend ordered the vegan buffalo bites, which are large pieces of cauliflower with buffalo flavored sauce on the cooked cauliflower. The portion appeared to be generous, but each piece of cauliflower was far too large for a bite, and in my humble opinion, they should've been made into smaller bite-sized pieces. It's the little things. The wait staff was super friendly, and even let us close down the place with them. Our waitress generously kept our drinks refilled, and continually offered additional food service. I'm hopeful that they will improve the menu offerings and food quality. I would hate to see yet another Sacramento restaurant permanently close. read more

It's been years since I've eaten at River City Brewing and, to be honest, as a vegan I wasn't planning on ever going back since there's nothing really on the menu that's plant-based friendly. Fast forward to this year's Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge and low and behold River City has come up with a set of vegan offerings so I thought it was worth seeing what they came up with. Immediately vegan fish & chips jumped out at me - it's virtually nonexistent in Sacramento, so I knew I had to try it. My coworker wanted to try the vegan buffalo wings so we got some to share. The vegan fish & chips (made out of hearts of palm) were actually pretty good and were just the right amount of crispy, but I would have rather had another piece of the fish over the giant portion of salty fries that went alongside it. Sadly, the vegan tartar sauce was bland and a real let down. I've definitely made better in my own kitchen. Surprisingly, the buffalo cauliflower wings were stellar! Great texture, plenty of kick and accompanied by fantastic vegan ranch. I've had alot of buffalo cauliflower and wow these are the best I've had in recent memory. So good that I'm willing to overlook the aged celery they were served with (that's saying something for me). All in all, this is definitely an improvement on my previous experiences here and actually more of a 3.5 star rating. If they actually put some of these Vegan Chef Challenge items on the regular menu I'd definitely find my way back here and raise up my rating. read more
