We stopped in for a couple of drinks and an appetizer. We got the Gorgonzola dip which was served in a pretty large bowl with only maybe 6 pieces of bread. There was a ton of dip leftover so we asked for more bread. Even with the additional 5 or so pieces of bread there was a ton of dip leftover. Maybe consider serving similar bread to dip ratios. I had the coconut pina colada and it was delicious. With two of the coladas and 2 other mixed drinks my husband had along with our dip the bill was over $70. A total rip off. Came to Harry's for a dinner with my co-workers during one day of Grace Hopper 2019. I called ahead to make a reservation for 8, worried that there'd be no tables. Making a reservation was fine, and once we all arrived at its location inside a hotel, the Rosen, which is very close to the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), we realized that there was nothing to worry about. It was in a restaurant and fairly empty. So we were seated immediately, although we were 6 minutes late, at the not-poolside area... we were in an inside area but still weren't completely enclosed in a building. The steel drum music that was playing really put the cherry on top of the attempted ~poolside island tiki vibe~. Once we sat down, we were soon approached by our server of the night who was this dirty blonde girl in a hawaiian t-shirt. We were slow to decide what to get so we sent her off to "give us a few minutes", and once she came back, we ordered two of one of the sweeter cocktails (something with rum..?). One was for Kat, and the other would be shared by me and Laura. Stephanie asked to try a specific chardonnay before deciding, and was able to. Our server asked to check all our ids, and after looking at mine, she let me know that we were the same age and only 4 days apart. Lol, I don't know why that was so interesting to me. It made me feel kinda weird. Stephanie chose to go with the chardonnay that she tried, and our cocktails were way too sweet and had very little alcohol. It was slightly disappointing. I ended up getting the crab cake sandwich because the server swayed me by saying the crab cakes were "made in house". Ok. I had the choice between yucca fries or sweet potato fries. Because I'd never had yucca fries, I asked the server what she liked more. She very helpfully described how yucca fries are - they're denser and starchier. I was intrigued. I ordered it with yucca fries. Our food came out like 10 minutes later maybe. There were few yucca fries; maybe 6 or 7, but they were huge. I was a little brat and asked if they had any sauces like ketchup, or something, and ended up getting these two unique sauces, one thicker like a "chipotle mayo" or something, and the other more vinegar-y like chimmichurri... both were delicious and i used both as dip and as a topping on my sandwich. The yucca fries were also delicious and I ended up finishing those and not my sandwich, which was very mediocre. I also tried some flan, which we all shared. 3.5 stars. Best thing? Giant Fried tostones with some garlic oil on top that are delicious and ruin the nutritional value of the salad they come with. Nice poolside venue. Came here for Fathers Day buffer Brunch. Food - really really good. Service - not so good despite being a buffet. The hostess was nice. Servers apparently knew the table next to us and felt it was cool to talk to them every 5 minutes instead on checking on guests. Took twenty minutes to finally get a drink. Was about to flip but the food (see pics) was good and plentiful. Cost $36 plus they add a 18% tip and tax so $45. While the service sucked at first, they were more accommodating later on. It was pouring so the buffet was moved inside the bar. Little tight for room but definitely not a major issue. Of course the idiots who decided to stop the line to talk and share dessert.... i mean you can't make this up. This was the same table where they all knew each other. I included a menu for the buffet. My favorite was the shrimp, and veggies ( mushrooms, tomatoes, mozzarella balls, mac n cheese ( to my shock) was good; also ribs were tender. Brisket really tender. Dessert - good 6-7 choices including full slices , little slices, shooters etc. Overall very happy. PS - advice - organizer a bit better so you are not walking and eating on top of each other. Car valet - included. Too bad the girl at the counter has a Minnie mouse voice and doesn't understand how to call out names outside. I waited patiently as i saw my truck coming ( crowded as they were preparing for a volleyball tournament). I noticed my truck. Parked. No keys. No valet. Minnie mouse said she called my name. I said i was right over there for 20 min. You told me to wait anywhere. I mean seriously. You called my name. Outside. Raining. 20 cars loading and unloading. Excuses don't fly around here. Poor but definitely didn't overshadow the meal. Would come back again and assume Harrys is a legit place to eat. read more

Walked in the front door next to the pool. There was a lady standing at the hostess stand...I held up two fingers letting her know party of two. She grabbed two menus and started walking away so we followed her. She sat the menus down on the table and walked away...never did she speak one word to us...Not one word. We sat down and started to preview the menu. We sat there for 16 minutes and not one person in that place ever once acknowledged our existence. I know that Harry's is a resort pool restaurant, and that may engender thoughts of Burgers, fries, and the ubiquitous hot wings, but this is a Rosen property, and "pool food" just doesn't do it justice. Sure the location can be poolside, but there's a small indoor restaurant that's available as well. What puts this a level above most poolside joints is the chef-inspired menu. I've never had a dish there that I wasn't happy with. Service can be hit or miss if you're there on a day when it is not crowded. For the most part, however, I've had only good experiences and delicious food. Try the chocolate martini. It's especially good sitting by the pool. And the pasta dish with jalapeño cream sauce is one of my favorites. Locals: don't forget to ask for a Black Card at a Rosen resort front desk. It will get you 25% off your meals at the finer restaurants at Rosen properties, including Harry's. read more

Where do I even begin? Let me preface this by saying I am so observant (aka a people watcher) and this place went ABOVE AND BEYOND for every guest present. My friend and I sat down at lunchtime, when we ordered and immediately recognized how busy they were we did our best to be ready when the waitress (Valentina) came by. As we sat and enjoyed our delicious appetizer and meal. Time and time again we noticed how RUDE the guest who were coming in were. They had a table reserved for a large party (like 12+ people) who had reservations and were doing everything in their power to seat the others. With short staff they were unable to accommodate serving directly outside however explained to order at the bar and feel free to eat out there. Once the large party arrived someone decided they wanted to sit outside and PROPS TO THE MANAGER HECTOR for explaining kindly that they made arrangements indoors and would only be able to accommodate them there rather than telling them okay and stressing his staff. He handled it BEAUTIFULLY. On top of that the rude guests rather than going to the bar to ask questions continued to walk directly up to the kitchen line as well as took it upon themselves to seat themselves and overall feel entitled to service that they truly didn't deserve. We will be returning during our weekend stay and hope that the staff that was working will be here to serve us again. 10/10 recommend this place, also 10/10 recommend to just literally be a nice and understanding person when dining anywhere. read more

Was staying at the Rosen centre hotel for one night and decided to try the restaurant on sight. The staff was absolutely so nice, Kenry was super helpful in making reccomendations, meanwhile I wasn't having high expectations from a poolside restaurant. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh and greatly portioned. The pina coladas and froze are a must try. Overall with the lounge chairs poolside, great food and drinks, its a great time. My only fault is that it's a little pricey but you're definitely paying for quality and experience. read more

The first time we were there, we were too tired from traveling. It was a when we first got there from 2 flights. We weren't too picky about what we ate or how long we waited to get the food. We were just pretty darn happy to be sitting in the sun by a pool. Second time, a few days later, we were waiting a long time for our server to get to us. We only learned, after going up to the people at the bar that they we were in between the times they had servers. This I don't get. This platter worked well for two with not too big of an appetite. Chocolate Cinnamon Bread Pudding $7 Has spiced rum and coffee sauce. This was ok. There was not a wet bread pudding. We are calling it a saturated version because there was not a lot of excess sauce. The rum and coffee sauce was drizzled on the section.
