A quiet place to enjoy a great meal. I came here on a Thursday evening around 6:30pm with no reservation. It was quiet with a few parties there and I was seated immediately by the pleasant host. Antonette served me and she was stellar. She was very polite, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. She took her time and offered insightful menu recommendations. The first thing I had was a complimentary, assorted bead basket with olive dip. I don't even like olives but I really enjoyed having the dip on sliced baguette pieces. I couldn't get enough. I also had the Chilean sea bass with risotto, artichokes and tomatoes for dinner. I was very pleased. The flavor, texture and presentation were perfect. It was the right amount of food and taste. I ate it all - feeling satisfied but not stuffed. I enjoyed the Hester Street Olde Fashioned with my meal. It was exactly what I wanted and how it should be. It was strong but not overpowering with a subtle sweetness. Perfect! I also got a crab cake to-go. This is one of the good crab cakes that's all meat instead of mostly bread crumbs and fillers. It has substance and flavor. Overall, I'd come here again and would recommend it. It's even good for a solo dinner. They take good care of you. Don't let the slightly dated wildlife decor deter you, this is a fine dining experience indeed. read more

Really a 7! Had Magical Dining at Everglades this evening. The atmosphere was relaxing and tropical. It was very clean. The service was fantastic. We had the alligator soup which was like a chowder with tender meat and vegetables in a tomato based broth. It was a large portion the flavors were memorable. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh. It was great. Again a good portion. The main course was the filet. It was cooked perfectly tender. Served with a savory sauce and flavorful vegetables. Dessert was the key lime cheesecake. This was plated amazingly as were the other courses. The lime and raspberry sauces were fantastic. The pie filling was light and melted in my mouth. Delicious. The Tiramisu was light and so good. All were served in an artistic way. Skill for sure. Our server was so attentive, she really knew the menu and how to make an experience great. Sorry no pictures. My only disappointment was I read about the alligator rolls. In there place was a bread basket of various fresh tasty assortment. The cranberry bread was great. So not too disappointed. read more

While staying at a conference, I happened to walk past this steakhouse early in my trip and was immediately drawn in by the amazing person standing out front. They took the time to tell us all about the various restaurants on-site. We decided to save it for a special occasion, making it our last big meal before heading home. What a fantastic choice! ​From appetizers to the main course and dessert, everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. It felt like the ideal way to end our trip with a truly memorable meal. ​The atmosphere was a highlight--it struck a perfect balance between nice and fun, notably featuring a giant, impressive mural on the wall. Our server was equally stellar: incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. I never felt like we had to wait too long for anything. ​ ​This seems to be one of those places that's either absolutely slammed and busy or wonderfully quiet. Luckily for us, we arrived during a slower period, meaning we were truly catered to. We attended the restaurant for a business dinner and I was very underwhelmed. The steak was probably the best thing on the menu unfortunately I did enjoy the seafood or appetizers. I got the Angrove Family Crest Shiraz from McLaren Vale-AU for $15. The chef came out and I told him my allergies I got the NY strip for $50 minus the house butter- We just got our food; the NY strip is orgasmic. The sauce it comes with is a mushroom sauce however it's a bit too thick for my liking- my partner said it's GOOD. So I'll have to take his word for it. I completely finished my plate the steak is gone. Overall thoughts- very professional service from the staff, amazing food. This is t a quick meal the food is going to take a bit to get here; however absolutely phenomenal. I'll definitely be coming back to try the cocktails. The ambiance of the restaurant is Florida vibes meets classic flair of food and flavor. They've got a giant manatee, cougar, and alligator along the wall. What a wonderful evening! We had a 7:15 reservation but arrived early. They happily sat us right away. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. We decided on a whim to split an appetizer and entree. The waitress had no problem with that and the kitchen split the entree for us. We had the scallop appetizer, the Salmon with lobster risotto and a side of mushrooms. Everything was cooked perfectly. This was our second time here , the last being last year when we came to Orlando. I know this restaurant is in a hotel; come even if you are not staying at the hotel. It is worth it! Everglades is appropriately themed with it's vibrant and scenic use of decor. They have very professional staff and amazing food. The atmosphere is very hushed and casual, so you can dress up or dress down. They have tables and booths available, as well as a small bar. Fish tank, murals, and animal statues decorate the room. So for a drink I had the strawberry basil lemonade which also has Bacardi dragon fruit rum, and I must say it was refreshingly pleasant. Fairly light unlike most denser cocktails, semisweet, lightly tart, I tasted like I should be drinking it by a pool or a beach. They also have sparkling, tap and still water available, if that is more your thing. Before the entree is served you are given a made in house fresh basket of bread with white bread, pumpernickel and a giant sesame rice cracker, paired with, it was like a little bowl of chopped garlic, olives, tomatoes, oil, I honestly am not entirely sure what all is in it, but what I do know is you will want it on your bread. Now, the entree. I can truly say I have never had a better pork chop in my entire life! (Don't tell me my mother I said that) The Duroc Pork Chop is a thick cut, bone on, grilled chop, with whiskey glazed apple chunks, and a sauce/broth that brings out a savory meat flavor while the apples add a nice sweetness. Complimented by a few vegetables and delicious creamy and chunky mashed potatoes. I highly recommend this dish. I have never had a chop as moist and tender as this one. As far as parking, it is hotel parking in a garage, as the restaurant is inside the hotel, so down side here is we paid 30$ to park for two hours, but I would say that is the only catch, and truly is more of a reflection on the hotel, not the restaurant. But I felt the need to add that in as parking is a factor of a dining experience. read more

We were at Rosen Centre for a meeting and didn't want to brave I-Drive traffic and stayed there. I got the steak (pictured), and it was ok. Lot of butter, lots of salt, and relatively thin. It was indeed Choice not Prime. Kinda like a steak you'd get at the grocery store (but not H-E-B [IYKYK]). The alligator bay chowder was nice; I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, as I've only had alligator fried. Nice flavor in a tomato chowder base. The wine list for a hotel restaurant is pretty decent, though the two wines I really wanted were sold out. My dining partner had the chicken, which she quite liked. I had the "key lime pie" for dessert, and while the taste was great, texturally it was more like a cheesecake and very heavy. Everglades Restaurant is good. Not great, but pretty good. It's really 3-1/2 stars, but, we'll, three is an odd number, so I rounded down. If you're at Rosen Centre Hotel, it's indeed worth dining there. If you're not, I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

The Everglades Restaurant located inside the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, FL did NOT disappoint! We started off being provided a variety of breads and an olive oil dip. I also got an Irish coffee as a pre-dinner treat. It was a bit bitter, even for an Irish coffee, but if that's your preference, you'll like it! Between two people, we ordered the Chilean Seabass and Salmon dishes with risotto. They were both so flavorful and the serving sizes were generous. I'd recommend both dishes. Heads up - the prices are more so in the $$ and $$$ range. But in my opinion, it's definitely worth every cent. And for being a more expensive restaurant, the atmosphere and dress was pretty casual. So dress however makes you feel comfortable. The service we received was amazing as well. I give them five stars! read more

We decided to try Everglades Restaurant for Magical Dining. We made a reservation in advance and were quickly seated. Service was great from start to finish. We had a team of several people checking on us including Victor and Antoinette (I unfortunately don't remember the name of the other gentleman), and all were friendly and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere is pretty cool; they have murals and statues trying to embody the "Everglades" vibe. I chose to try the alligator chowder, the citrus crusted salmon with lobster risotto, and the double chocolate fudge overload. I also ordered a blackberry mojito. My boyfriend chose the chowder also, and ordered the angus grilled filet (topped with crabmeat and bernaise for an extra $6 - worth it!), and the strawberry key lime tart. The mojito was decent, but not something I'd opt for again personally. The bread basket had a nice variety and I enjoyed the olive tapenade served with it as a switch from typical butter (which we did request since my boyfriend isn't an olive fan). The alligator chowder was yummy and had a good depth of flavor. The salmon was nicely cooked and I enjoyed the crust on it. The citrus flavor was subtle so I felt it needed just a little more pop of flavor, but swirling it in the sauce made it very good. The lobster risotto was awesome and the asparagus was nicely prepared. The angus filet was probably the star of the entrees especially with the crab meat and sauce. It was tender and cooked to the requested temp perfectly. The desserts here also shined. My boyfriend enjoyed his tart; I ordered my dessert in a to go box because I was full, but snagged a bite and it was delish and great for any chocolate lover. They also bring a few dessert truffles at the end of the meal which is a nice touch. Overall, this was a nice dining experience and definitely worth checking out! read more

For an appetizer I went with the Watermelon & Goat Cheese Salad (beautiful presentation), this was so flavorful! For dessert I had the dessert shots which were excellent too, however my mom had the chocolate moose dessert which was fantastic! Everglades restaurant located in the Rosen hotel on international drive in Orlando was an elegant surprise. The bread basket had a beautiful selection paired with the olive tapenade and was a great way to start our dining experience. My wife and I went out to dinner last night at Everglades at the Rosen Centre for a date night. They called it fine dining. Our meal was mediocre, however after the meal was when the fun started. The waitress brought the check. At the bottom of the check was one of those QR codes that you can scan and pay the bill. I scanned, paid using my Apple Card. At that time, I thought the transaction was over. I walked my wife out of the restaurant, and she went to the front of the hotel by the valet area, and I went to the parking garage to get our car. It was a far walk from the restaurant, cross their convention area to the parking garage. I walked up one flight of stairs, then I heard someone say Hey!!! You left the restaurant without paying your bill. I replied back with I paid. The security guard and now the restaurant manager are now confronting me in the garage saying I did not pay..... As it goes I open my phone to show these Mother &"3ehrudner's my receipt. Now as luck goes my phone will not load my email... I switch to my apple wallet and you can see a pending purchase for $167.31 at Everglades Restaurant. That was not good enough for them. Switch back to email and you can only see the subject line that says..... Rosen Centre Hotel Email receipt. I told them I don't appreciate this. What else do you want me to show you? They finally believed me I guess. Now my wife called me 10 seconds later as she was chased down and confronted by our waitress saying I did not pay the bill. All of this unnecessary embarrassment could have been avoided by not accusing me of a dine and dash....... How about something like..... There may have been a problem with our system... can you please show me your receipt?? I would expect this type of treatment from a place like The International House of Pancakes, Chili's, or Logan's roadhouse. Not an establishment that claims to be fine dining. You would think that they would want to check their system before they start sending security guards to confront me. read more

We attended the Tequila Dinner at Everglades Restaurant October 12th. What a wonderful time! The food was great, the drinks even better. Most of all, we enjoyed the wonderful staff. All of the managers and chefs and servers (please forgive me, I forget names) were so friendly and accommodating. I do remember Adrienne (who should be given a raise!)! She is always so welcoming and gracious every time we attend a special event at the Rosen Centre. We couldn't have been treated better. I felt that all the staff was truly interested in us having the best experience possible. The food was quite varied: pork, steak, duck, scallops. All delicious. The chef was creative with sauces to enhance flavors of each dish. The steak tacos and scallops were my favorites. The drinks were creative, a different drink for each dish as well as a welcome cocktail of ranch water. My favorite was the margarita. Just the right amount of sweet and sour. Please continue to do these special events. We love coming to The Rosen Centre and visiting all of the culinary experiences you have to offer. read more

Tried this place put for magical dining and it was pretty good. The menu options are diverse and the ambiance is nice. It's located inside the Rosen Centre hotel on I-drive, and once you enter in you can see how Floridian it truly is. There is a wall mural along one side with artwork scattered along the adjacent walls. The food was delicious. We had the George Barley salad with fried shrimp and pineapple and also the alligator chowder. For our entrees we had the Angus filet and the Grouper. And for dessert there was a variety of chocolate cake, key lime pie, and dessert shots. Overall the food was flavorful and very filling. The appetizers we had were salty and tart, which was followed by our very filling entrees due to large portions, and the desserts were rich and sweet. read more

First visit to try out the magical dinning, not very crowded & got a nice seat & social distancing seems to work, due to it not being crowded. Our wait staff, Victor was friendly & his service was on point, just a little suggestion, when a bottle of wine is ordered, wrap the bottle with a napkin, so the cold beads don't leak on the table when we have to serve it. Bread service with the olive & oil spread was very tasty. Gator soup was delish, perfect temperature to the table. Food came out in the right spacing & give u time to have a nice conversation in bwt, as not a loud restaurant. OMG, chef thanks for a steak cooked to perfection, I visit a Disney Springs restaurant a few weeks ago for MD, & that steak was sadly prepared & I did not eat after 2 bites. The atmosphere and wait staff are excellent. The food is overpriced but if you go during magical dining I would say you get your money's worth. I thought the appetizers were excellent and unique. The main courses were both very good - one steak and one sea-bass. Between the two the steak was better but both were well cooked and flavored. We had four mini dessert shots and they were all bland/disappointing. We also had sangria from the bar that was excellent. If you are looking for a fun place to go for magical dining I would say this is a good place to consider. read more

Our food was good, my steak was temped perfectly but some of the shellfish in my wife's entree was a bit over cooked and chewy. We chose Everglades as the place to celebrate our anniversary. We've been here a few times before and haven't been let down. Of course it helped that I had a $25 certificate from Restaurant.com! Everglades is located in the Rosen Centre Hotel right in the heart of tourist central- International Drive. I love the huge mural featuring Florida wildlife (OK, it's a little corny but I'm a sucker for animals) and big saltwater fish tank at the entrance. For apps we split the Florida Rock Shrimp risotto which was divine. For main course I was torn between the Halibut or my old standby, the Buffalo with truffle mashed potatoes. I ended up getting the buffalo which is amazingly tender. The sauce, although good, was a little overpowering. For dessert I had the pecan tuile which was layered with cream and berries. It was delicious. I sampled the flourless chocolate cake which was extremely rich but also very good. I left absolutely stuffed and even had half my entree to take home! The restaurant is always pretty empty so they must survive on hotel guests and conference attendees. Service is good but could be better. At a place like this you don't expect to have an empty wine glass (we did) but the water was kept filled, and food came out promptly and correct so I'm not going to complain. We were at the Everglades for the Vine and Dine event on Friday. Several times a year, apparently, Rosen Centre Hotel puts on these food and wine pairing dinners. This is a clever way to generate business in what would otherwise be a quiet evening, in the dining room of a hotel that relies more on business travelers during the week. The event also offers free valet, and a very special room rate of $89 for those who prefer not to handle the aftermath of a 5-course dinner with wine behind the wheel - again a win-win, since the hotel will be quiet on any given Friday night other than during the peak of tourist season. But even though the press release in January stated "The cost of each Vine & Dine dinner is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity..." This particular one, featuring Master Sommelier Joseph Spellman and wines from Landmark and Justin, was priced at $75 instead. We arrived to be checked in outside of the dining room. We were given our tab and shown the way into the reception area outside the dining room. The waiter came and brought us our poison, and settled the tab. In case you're wondering, obligatory gratuity is 20%; I won't begrudge them that, since a dinner like this with good service could easily warrant even more, but I felt that they could have been more upfront with disclosure, AND call it something other than a "Large party tip" - especially when it's for a party of two. Justin wines dominated the evening, accounting for 4 out of the 5. Their sauvignon blanc was pleasant enough, but pales compared to any given offering from Marlborough, or even some of the better American ones. Wait staff with bottles comes and tops you up should you need it;. Be careful - while this is the only time you get any "extra", pace yourself and know your limit: there are 4 more wines coming, 3 of them that are about 4 ounces each, and the dessert wine, maybe 1.5 oz. No point getting tipsy early and not being able to taste the food. I think, though, that some pretzels and/or nuts might be a good snack to offer at this one-hour reception time. With the first course starting well after 8:30, some folks (the ladies, especially) might all too quickly feel the effect of 6-8 oz. of wine; as I'm sure you know, an unprotected stomach wall absorbs the alcohol like a sponge. The chef and the guest speaker each gave a little speech, with a neat slide show on a TV screen as a backdrop. Then it's time for the the first course - a very interesting salad comprising barley, kamut, and black quinoa among other things, with some field greens on the side. It was a nice first course that had a lot going on, but I was hoping that the dressing would have made it stand out more. And either black quinoa is supposed to be smaller than sesame, or else they kind of fell apart in the mixing - I didn't really notice its presence other than as little black specks (not sure, as I've not had the black variety before, and it's a first time for me to sample kamut). The salad was paired with a Justin Chardonnay that was not overly oaky. It drank more like a Chablis - nice. Next came the smoked salmon, which is now bathed in a shitake-infused broth, with a sprig of enoki on top (original menu was not as specific, so, who knows, maybe Chef Fred really only finalized this during the week). This is paired with the Landmark 2009 Grand Detour Pinot Noir ('09?). The salmon was a good portion and it was of exquisite taste; despite my initial reservations, the bite afforded by the tea-smoked flavor made fish-with-a-red work BEAUTIFULLY. This stood heads n shoulders above other courses, and was by far both my favorite course and favorite pairing of the evening. No wine with the palate-cleansing sorbet, which I considered perhaps a touch too sweet. Then came the piece de resistance: grilled venison in a fruity setting. This is paired with the Justin Savant (not sure if it's 2008 or 2009, since the menu said 2008, but the unopened bottle in the dining room said 2009). My venison was OK, but for some reason, my wife's piece was more flavorful, with more umami taste. I'm a little averse to "sweet" things other than during the dessert course; so the fruity approach did little for me. Still, it was nicely prepared and presented. Dessert was served with the last wine course, a sweet "port-style" wine made by Justin with cabernet sauvignon grapes, called Obtuse. Like the Savant and the pinot noir, it's not an inexpensive wine. It paired particularly well with some of the chocolate components that made up the dessert combo. The slice of candied orange really stood out too. French-pressed coffee was offered with dessert. All in all, a pleasant experience. I'm sure we'll be back one way or another. The evening was made more special by meeting fellow Yelper Ricky L. Considering it was a Saturday night I was quite surprised to see the place so empty. After experiencing good service and great food, I'm even more surprised. We were seated and given an assortment of bread with tapenade. While looking over the menu we were pleasantly surprised by a scallop in cream sauce amuse-bouche (amuse-bouche is a sampling of an item offered by the chef that is free of charge and not on the menu). Our server was knowledgeable of their wine selection and we chose a bottle of Moscato d'Asti for the table. For a starter I went with the lobster bisque; best lobster bisque I've ever tasted! It's not loaded with chunks of lobster, as it's an extremely creamy consistency, but the flavor is amazing; this is a must try if you visit. I rounded out my meal with the butternut squash ravioli entree. By this time to go boxes were necessary and dessert was out of the question. They do however have an array of desserts, that they bring over to your table on display, for selection. The ambiance is quiet and relaxed, and it's a nice restaurant for a romantic dinner. The decor has a Florida everglade feel with a large underwater mural on one wall, an over sized alligator (or maybe it's a croc), and a wall fish tank. read more

I was staying at he the Rosen Centre and chose to dine at this in-house restaurant. I was there at 7:00 pm and was the only customer in the restaurant. Well, it is the off season and this is a convention hotel with few conventions taking place. The ambiance was very nice, the decor is Everglades style with several sculptures of wild Florida animals. I was greeted and seated by a friendly hostess and then immediately greeted by my waiter. I started my meal with the Alligator Bay Chowder ($10). The soup was a fairly large portion and was extremely tasty. For my main course. I had the Tenderloin of Buffalo- Filet of buffalo with a peppercorn crust, served with sliced baked sweet potato & blueberry onion jam complimented with blueberry balsamic sauce ($40). The buffalo was cooked to my preference and had an incredible blend of seasonings and flavors. The restaurant adds an automatic 18% gratuity. Overall, I was very pleased with the meal. If you are looking for an upscale restaurant on International Drive in Orlando, this is a good find. read more
