Best fried chicken in Houston. Always fresh and crispy. I'm not a big side guy so I always get the 8 piece chicken only. A guilty pleasure !

The worst!!! Live very close to this store and have tried them on 3 different occasions at various times of the day and the chicken is ALWAYS heat lamp warm never fresh out the grease or even 5-6 minutes out the grease hot the rolls are disgusting insides are ALWAYS light and airy like they don't use enough yeast or something and on my last and final visit 1 of the 3 wings I ordered was actually only the drumstick and a very small portion of the flat part of the wing that did it for me! Went to support their business that I knew was suffering because of construction and almost turned around and left as soon as I walked in. The place was filthy. Dirt and food all over the floor, trash cans overflowing and the food looked disgusting. Dried up and old looking. I ordered tenders anyway and they did cook them fresh and they tasted fine. They also did scoop my potatoes out of a new pan instead of the dried up crud that was sitting out in the pan. Everything else looked so bad I didn't want to even try it. They couldn't even tell me what one of the dishes was. Looked like creole maybe. The rolls were good. Gravy on potatoes was from a dried up yucky looking pan. I really wanted to support them but I will never be going back there. Just glad we didn't get sick. Sorry for the horrible review but I had to say so. I really don't understand why my experience was nothing like the other positive comments. Should have taken pics because I think my review may be hard to believe. Great customer service at this location. Great prices with a buffet for only $10 with different kinds of meats.

Compared to other Hartz locations this one is my favorite. The people that work there keep the line fresh and are very friendly. The food is good and at a great price. I like chicken livers and so there are very few places I can get them. This Hartz location fries them just perfect. My only complaint is that they close at 8:30. Wish they'd consider being open later. Otherwise I can't say a bad thing about them. read more

Chicken was nice and crunchy. Fried fish was good too. Could use a little more seasoning, but overall very good fish and chicken. I also liked the coleslaw, rolls, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Drive through service was good. They brought my food to my car since I had to wait 10 minutes for the fish. Will definitely be back! read more

I just wish they could be friendlier! It's like you come by to try and support the location but then feel like you wasted your time and money. You have to keep asking for fish or rolls and then you get attitude from the employees like you are being a bother to them. Water was dripping all over my food from the ceiling leaking I think that was kind of un sanitary now that I think about it? I get ice to go with my tea and a bug is floating in my drink now. I guess I will just stick to my side of town and not drive all the way over there for mediocre service and disgusting food. Attitude, attitude! Workers were unfriendly, annoyed when you asked them for anything, god forbid they do their job. How dare you walk into their establishment and expect service. This is a buffet, it's not like they have to do much other than wipe tables down and make sure there is food out. When we asked for sanitary wipes, they had little shitty smirks on their faces. When I told my mom just to use the hand sanitizer with a paper towel, one of the girls said, "Did you know sanitizer doesn't kill germs ?" Reeeeallly?!? Oh okay. *eye roll. On to the food. We had to ask for several things that they were out of. They had the rolls behind the counter like they were gold bars. Most of the chicken was old, when you asked for a fresh piece they gave it to you, sprinkled with salty attitude. Everything else was bland, I'm comparing this to other Hartz chicken places. Went today around noon in htx next to hbu and it was disgusting . The chicken had no flavor and the coke was flat . The chicken honestly taste old and not fresh . The best part of the meal was my roll. read more
