If you're looking for a Chinese buffet in or around Tacoma, then this one I highly recommend. This is the largest buffet I've ever seen and been too. The variety and selections of food is amazing, there's something for everyone even if you don't eat typical Chinese food. They have a lot of different chicken dishes from orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and fried chicken wings. They have boiled shrimp, coconut shrimp, crab and crawfish. The list of foods could go on and on. If you like to make your own with noodles, veggies and meat, then you can do it Mongolian style. Choose from chicken, pork, beef, seafood. Then add your veggies and noodles and hand it off to the grill cook to prepare. It's pretty cool. They have all kinds of sushi, desserts, salad bar, cotton candy for the kids, a chocolate fountain, ice cream and more. Pros: - large selection - very clean - kid friendly Cons: - pricey - no general tsos (at least the day we went) Overall, it was the best and largest Chinese buffet I've ever been to. It's almost like you have to take pics of your seat and area because you will get lost the first time. Lol Pricey but you can feed the entire family with desserts. It's even got a Mongolian style cook station where you can pick out the raw foods you want and have it cooked on the spot. I was only disappointed in the fact I got filled up on just one plate of the sushi choices and mussels and a partial second plate. I wanted so badly to sample so many dishes. The mussels were ok, didn't care for the sweet sauce. The sushi was all enjoyable. The fried chicken really crispy good and the steamed clams very good but did get s couple w/ sand pebbles. I see other reviews saying they paid $16/17. We came on a Sunday and it was $23. They do have senior and military discount as well as tiered pricing for children 11 and younger. This place is huge...and very crowded. It is a little off-putting that you are expected to tip before you even have your dining experience. For some reason instead of people just walking up to the food they want and putting some on their plate and then going on to the next item they want...everyone was waiting in line. People scrolling on their phone...for what? Just get what you want and keep it moving! It shouldn't take 10-15 minutes to go get a plate. The food was typical buffet quality--never as good as a sit down restaurant. Crabs were small. It was not really an enjoyable dining experience in my opinion. Very crowded, loud, the waiting in line...it was almost like a giant school cafeteria experience minus the lunch ladies putting food on your plate. Not sure that I would come back. read more

Harvest Buffet is awesome! Trust me, I've been to a lot of buffets LOL. They are on South 38th street, behind the Goodwill. The building is huge and they also have a large parking lot. Like most buffets, you pay in the front. It is all you can eat, but if you want to drink something besides water, it costs extra. There is a stand to the left where someone will escort you to a table. They have tons of seating and a big separate room that you can rent out if you were having a special celebration. I loved how the tables were spaced far apart. They have a lot of different kinds of food from American to Chinese to Japanese. Besides the standard hot food, they also had a Dim Sum section, a sushi bar, and a Mongolian Grill! I'm not a big seafood person, but they have tons of stuff like fish, crab, shrimp, etc. For desserts, they had little cakes, custards, and real ice cream (not soft serve). There is also a chocolate fondue machine and cotton candy. It was busy when I was there, but the workers did a great job of refreshing the food trays and going around the tables collecting dirty dishes. The only negative is I think it is kind of pricy, especially on weekends. I don't eat a lot, so it feels like I'm losing money here, but it is fun to try so many different kinds of foods. They do not honor their lunch buffet price if you show up 45 minutes before the dinner time starts, which is 4:00. We showed up at 3:15 and were charged the dinner price and when I questioned her about it she said that we can take advantage of the lunch price, but would have to leave by 3:30. This is strange since there were plenty of people in the restaurant that clearly paid the lunch price and were there even after we got up to leave. Like any buffet some food was good and some was terrible. I will never return to this restaurant for the fact that they DO Not honor their prices. Exactly what you're expecting this buffet to be like is how it is. There can sometimes be long wait times up to 45 mins just to get a table because this place is so popular. To me, that means that they have a loyal client base and that people have been satisfied with their service. For me, the food is not amazing, but it is what you'd expect from a buffet. This nasty, mean lady refused to let me use the restroom even though I had my receipt and had not left the building. Went to this buffet for the first time ever tonight with my co-workers as our company Christmas party meal. Like all buffets it has it's pros and cons. I will say this place is HUGE, they can accommodate a crowd of people and they have several large rooms with long tables to sit which is wonderful if you have a large party. The decor in the lobby was overall nice, food was just okay... pretty standard buffet fare. They have plenty sushi options which is not my thing and I have co-workers who are Sushi/Seafood lovers in general who said it was "decent but not great". They had some Chinese food favorites like yakisoba noodles, beef broccoli, orange chicken and then some American foods like pizza, fries, baked potatoes and spinach dip. Nothing stood out as being great honestly but for a free meal from my company it was decent. The best part for me was really the desserts. They had a green tea mousse that was pleasant as well as little chocolate coffee cake slices, and the large marshmallows you can dip in fondue..mmmm! The salad and fruit were also good but it's pretty difficult to ruin simple things like fruit and salad lol The thing that turned me off the most about this place wasn't the food but that the plates and silverware did not appear to be very clean. A couple times when I went to get a new fork or plate from the stack of dinnerware that are supposed to be clean, the ones on top were covered with food remnants which is disgusting ! I certainly would not go out of my way to come here in all honesty but I may return and give them another chance if invited again by my employers. read more

Came back here yesterday and this place has gone downhill. COVID precautions are not taken seriously and I felt super unsafe and anxious. There are people packed like sardines in the lobby and the tables aren't even spaced apart that much. Half of the drink options were out of order and the food was only decent. There are cheap gloves offered when getting food but they ran out frequently. There are tons of little kids running around without masks. Overall I do not know if I would come back. For the amount of money that we customers are now paying to eat at your establishment you should have clean eating utensils! Made me wish I had brought my own. In fact, I will bring my own clean fork and spoon next time! I will tell others to do the same! If you do not WASH your SPOONS, WASH your FORKS, and WASH your KNIVES! Disgusting and nasty eating utensils can lead to food contamination or food borne illnesses. Y'all are about to get a health inspection from Pierce County. Pay no mind to the easily-triggered nitpicker who complained about everything being self-serve; it's a "buffet" - duh, and the dish carts that constantly pass by to pick up your empty dishes - that's their job, it's called "efficiency" - look it up. The Harvest Buffet is one of the better ones around, and for about $15 for lunch a great bargain. They offer a large variety of American and Asian food, from sushi to fried chicken to pasta to Mongolian grill, etc. Most of the food is very good and is always replenished as needed. Their fried chicken and pot roast surpassed my expectations, as did some of their sushi. I've read complaints about parking and prices - what? Delicious every time!! This is my family's favorite spot and when it's my kids turn to pick. This is what they choose every time!! Definitely stop at the Mongolian grill. It's the best we have ever had. The shrimp and seafood are yummy! Desserts are always very delicious and the kids love the cotton candy! My personal favorite is the sushi bar! By far the best Buffett I have ever eaten in my life! This place is huge! You probably couldn't eat one of everything in 3-4 visits. Plus it's got a Mongolian grill, a huge sushi section, a chocolate fountain, a cotton candy machine, and an real homemade ice cream station with about 10 options to choose. This review is for a visit on July 12, 2022 at 12:45 p.m. It is a Tuesday. Many of the photos seen in the reviews so far are very reflective of what's there at the moment. The only photos I'm uploading are the current pricing as of this visit. Harvest Buffet is classified as an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. It is well priced for what it offers, and generally costs less than competitors with similar offerings. The quality of food I rate from slightly below average to above average depending on which item you eat. The food preparation place looks clean, and there are bussing people circulating. The outside of the restaurant is very unassuming. Upon entry, you immediately see the order/payment counter with buffet and take-out pricings electronically displayed above the station. The whole area is very spacious with high ceilings. Upon entering the buffet area from the left side of the payment area, you'll see a huge dining hall with a large area of food stations located in the center towards the right. There is a banquet area on the left with multiple entry doorways that provides additional seating when there is no event. There is another banquet room to the right side that doubles as additional seating as well. There is also seating scattered around the food serving stations as well. The restrooms are located all the way to the rear of the entryway on the left side. They were pretty well maintained. The foods I believe can be categorized as follows: First row mainly consists of SuShi/Sashimi - Mostly rolls with some specialties scattered. (Try out the Tempura sushi California roll (I think!), battered and fried, providing interesting texture contrast.) Right of the Sushi area rests the salad bar. It is well stocked and fresh. Cornering into 6+ specialty salads, and again cornering into the 2nd row which provides a huge amount of desserts, including mostly cakes, and kids' favorites - ice cream and cotton candy. Third and last row provides seafood in many forms, a carving station of roast beef, sausages you can cut to sizes you select, some orange chicken plus other prepared asian dishes of meat and vegetable combinations. The far right corner rests the soup station of at least 5 different soups, cornering into kids hot food station of about 6 dishes. Cornering into Dim Sum station mainly of steam buns, chicken feet and beef tripe. This corners to the soup noodles and Mongolian Beef stations where you can customize to your own delight. Do note that although the prepared Mongolian grill was good, it's cooked with too much oil and sauce, so make your cooking requests with that in mind. Self service drink stations are also scattered around the food station serving mainly Pepsi products. You can get tea and coffee (I think?) to accompany your dining as well. The place was busy from when we arrived at almost 1 p.m., but business gradually dwindled after the lunch rush was over. Bussing staff were constantly there clearing up the tables, but were not intrusive. Overall, I had a very good dining experience. As with most buffets, I tend to overeat, and this was no exception. I do not think I shall ever visit during peak hours on weekends as I can sense the chaos of large crowds with kids running around everywhere. P.S. Party of 7 on a busy weekend (Sun 10/6) We had to wait about 45 mins to get in but that's ok because we went during dinner to a popular place. Unfortunately 4/7 of us either got food poisoning or some type of stomach virus. One of us had to go to the ER for fluid replacement :(. With places like these I feel like food safety should be a top priority, felt like that element may have been missing. I tend to only leave positive reviews but I found it hard with this place. We will most likely not be returning here. Ambiance was ok, typical buffet style. Food? Tons of options which was great, seafood wasn't the freshest but enjoyable. Service? Staff was great to us for how busy it was. I will add that those of us that got sick in our party had one thing in common, we all ate the sushi. Was it a one off? I used to like this place, but it's gotten pretty gross. The silverware is barely clean, and there was a huge norovirus outbreak recently, which honestly explains a lot. For those who may not know, norovirus outbreaks often occur when food is contaminated with human feces or vomit, leading to severe food poisoning symptoms. After this experience, I cannot recommend dining here until they've addressed these serious health concerns. read more
