During the call, she asked & received not only my name, birthday, home address, insurance & supplemental insurance information. She then requested credit card information prior to making an appointment. I requested to bring the credit card at my first appointment. She informed me that a credit card or access to my HSA. Was required PRIOR to setting the appointment. She said it was office and policy. I do not provide credit card information over the phone ... personal policy. IMHO, this financial office policy for new patients PRIOR to making an appointment should be weighed along with expected patient care, when selecting a dermatology practice.

*Update* I really…read morehate to do this because the staff is very nice but the office hours changed and the updated hours were not updated on their website to reflect the adjustment. Hopefully, this has since changed. Because of this, it has been impossible to determine when the correct hours are for scheduling an appointment or to pick up a product. As an example, I took off work two different days and went during their normal advertised working hours to pick up a very specific product, they were closed. On several other occasions, I called and attempted to make an appointment but no one answered the phone and I never was able to schedule an appointment. I believe I also left a voicemail. Due to the shortened and unclear hours, I have been forced to look for another dermatologist that has more reliable hours. I just can't keep on going out of way to try and call and figure out when they are open or when they closed early due to limited staffing, etc.

Since she's currently on maternity leave, I recently saw Dr. Caroline Savoie, and I was just as impressed. Dr. Savoie was thorough, knowledgeable & very professional. She took the time to answer all my questions without rushing. She made me feel comfortable and confident in the care I received. Goodbye to my former self and a WARNING to those contemplating what I once considered a small…read morecosmetic procedure ....I just wanted to take a moment and share my story to spare someone from going through what I've gone through; the life long complications and the realization that I will be permanently disfigured both aesthetically and functionally. The face in the mirror will NEVER be the same as it was prior to January 30th nor will my soul. On January 30th: Celebrating my 40th Birthday I decided to get filler in my nasolabial folds (wrinkles between the lips and nose). Feb 1st: Incredible pain and white blanching/bluish tint. Told it was normal. Bruising. Feb 2nd: Realized what I was experiencing was skin necrosis and the tissue on the left side of my nose was dead and the cartilage was collapsing in on itself. This was from my own "gut instinct" that it wasn't bruising as I was told; the black skin was not going to "grow back". A laser treatment or IPL was not going to reshape my nose, as I was told. For the next several weeks I was shuffled to a "private" waiting room as to not let other potential clients see the damage that was done to my face. My self esteem, at an all time low, was further shattered by being hidden from plain view because the "med spa" didn't want their bottom line to be hurt. After that "follow up", where I was yet again told everything was fine and put "Aquaphore" on it; I made the decision that it was time to seek proper treatment from a competent medical professional. What followed was many months of not being able to leave my house unless it was to get my wet to dry bandages changed. The possibility of infection and further cartilage damage was my sentence to spend the next four months within the four walls of my home. In May I underwent my first reconstruction surgery. Skin and cartilage was taken from my ear to reconstruct the interior of my nose. This helped me be able to breath again (50%) from my left nostril. It was the first of many surgeries and procedures that will occupy the better part of my life. To hear the words, from a well respected facial reconstruction surgeon, that I will be permanently disfigured- was a tough pill to swallow. Yes, I made the ultimate decision to under go the procedure. However, I was never warned of the risks. I had absolutely no idea what to look for. Had I been properly informed of ALL the risks; even if they are considered rare, perhaps I would had made a more INFORMED decision. I was never given a waiver to review or sign. I never was verbally told of the dangers. I'm letting you know the risks and dangers of what some consider a small "cosmetic" procedure. If you are going to go that route; please consider going to a board certified surgeon. Someone that is familiar with the product they are injecting in your body. And if there is a complication, they are knowledgeable to be able to help you before the damage becomes permanent. The sad part, the "med spa" that did this, never once offered to pay ANY of my medical bills. Never heard from them again after the last follow up in mid February. I guess they thought I would go away and they were above the law. But doctors take a Hippocratic Oath to uphold specific ethical standards. This was not the case at Aestedispa in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Shame on you Dr. Christy Cone. I hope you don't do this to another client and hide behind your fake smile.

It has now become a full fledged clinic, with doctors from different specialties volunteering their time as well as full-time employees. The specialities one can be treated for- internal medicine, ob/gy, dermatology, pediatrics. There is now a dental unit. This is also a satellite location for The Lowcountry Food bank. There is a food pantry where families can register to pick up food once a month. Fresh express is held once every two months where local fresh produce is available for free. These events are held on a Saturday and there are normally a few hundred that come to pick up what might be the only fresh produce they might consume in the month. Local institutes support the clinic and provide a source of funding. Roper St. Francis is a sponsor and MUSC have incorporated the clinic as one of their training sites. The clinic is part of the PA program where PA's in training rotate through the clinic. It is also part of the MUSC nursing program. Internal medicine residency program use the clinic as one of their residency sites. There are also free clothing services available on site. This is one of the best charitable service centers there could be!

The waiting room has a few chairs. There are minimal decorations. I noticed magazines and pamphlets are no longer available, which I'm assuming is a COVID precaution. Dr. Perry was great. He was personable. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. I didn't feel like he had to rush out to the next person.
