I struggle to understand how music louder than you can speak is a preferred way to eat a meal. We have been to hash before (different location) and we could at least carry on a conversation with those we were with. Today that was impossible. It just kept getting louder and louder. I'm not an overly sensitive person but I left there with a massive headache that lasted for the better half of 4 hours. Our waiter was also the Bloody Mary bartender therefore he didn't really tend to our needs that much because he was too busy pouring drinks for the line at the bar that was there half the time we were. When we were paying we were explaining to the manager just how terrible the experience was and his attitude spoke volumes for his lack of interest. Which spoke volumes for my desire to ever return again. The only 5 star I have to offer is the food once it arrived was delicious just wish the rest of our experience would have been equal. read more

You go out to eat to grub and catch up with friends or family the volume the music was at completely shut the chance of that down. Service is spotty at best. They do drinks well. However, basic breakfast items like pancakes are a huge disappointment. They are like hotel lobby pancakes that are rubbery from sitting too long or microwaved. It's a party environment with a dj and heavy emphasis on drinking. I have been twice and will not try again. Stopped in for a bite to eat and went with their herb fried chicken Benedict. It came with a small bowl of diced fried potatoes and unions which had to have been cooked many hours before being stale and room temperature. Definitely pains me to give this review but the quality is going downhill fast. I've loved Hash Kitchen for the past few years and when the 83rd and Bell location opened, I was elated. I've been to this location about 5-6 times and each experience gets worse and worse. More the food quality. I had the Dr. Art Molen (Probably wrong spelling lol) Scramble today and all the veggies were hard. The pancake was rubbery and not flavorful. Also portion sizes have steadily declined. The menu used to be a lot more fun and experimental and now it's just a mix of random things that don't go together. Service was great and attentive. Bloody Mary bar had a large selection of things and you can be very liberal with all the garnish - almost a meal by itself. The bloody mary part was small and not very strong. You can fill up on this and not need anything else. We did order Avocado Toast. You could barely see or taste avocado and the brioche was overwhelmingly thick and distracting. If you like avocado toast, you will be sorely disappointed. We also ordered the christina tamale benedict. Tasty, but so much masa/cornbread. Many of the menu items are loaded with bread or starchy fillers. read more

We came in on a Friday around 11am and got a table outside. We had to wait about 10 minutes. There's a DJ inside spinning beats Friday thru Sunday, so it's quite loud inside but the music is fun and tasteful. The carnitas hash was delicious and very filling. Where to start?Not able to build a green Mary. Asked for green versus tomato was told no we can't make that at our Bloody Mary bar. The Biria beef was sour. Yes taken off the bill. However, kitchen not properly functioning to prevent illness is very concerning. Iced tea tasted like the container has not been cleaned in a long bit. Needless to say I spent most of my day at home due to needing to be close to restroom. Meaning had to cancel our plans with friends and family due to negligence from Hash Kitchen. Let's mention the tables are so close that when the wait staff takes an order from next table their hind ends are in your face. And let's mention bacon is super fatty. Basically, very disappointing. An interesting place. My wife and I showed up for brunch mid-week, we asked for outdoor seating to get some distance from the piped-in music which was clearly aimed at a much younger demographic (it used to be a joke among Boomers that young people just listen to noise, but that was before Skrillex happened). My wife ordered the "Christiana's Tamale Cakes Benedict" which was tasty with a nice juxtaposition between the pork and the sweet corn masa, but she would have appreciated more sauce to give it the right balance (calling it a "Benedict" is a stretch). I jumped into the deep end and ordered the "Brunchhilda Stack Hash" (a layered skillet dish with tortillas, eggs, chorizo, mozzarella cheese, and several other seasonings that I couldn't identify). I was on-board with the concept, but they overdid it on the sauce, it was tart to the point of actually being acidic on the pH scale. But it was okay, just had to push the sauce aside (and steal some of my wife's masa to correct the imbalance). Overall I enjoyed the experience, I found myself fantasizing that they might try catering to the older Arizona demographic and pipe in some Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters, maybe take a break from all the Ke$ha and Katy Perry. We decided to sit at the bar which was dirty and had to again wait to have it cleared. Then when we sat down the bar tender dropped a cup and it shattered all over my husbands lap.
