If you're craving some good fried noodles, Hashi Okazuya is the place to go. If you're from Waipahu, this place was known as Sato's Okazuya until about 5 years ago when they closed. Sato's had the best noodles and fried chicken and it was always a treat to get some. And now, it continues with Hashi Okazuya. The flavor of the noodles and chicken...still there. They even have bentos. The bento comes with rice, fried chicken, hot dog and fried noodles. So good and filling. It's my go to place when I want some good fried noodles.

Lunchtime in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... Driving around Waipahu Festival Marketplace, I saw the sign for Hashi Okazuya and quickly looked at the Yelp reviews. There was none by Dan O., so I had to explore... The free parking was easy and much appreciated! The interior was clean and cozy - just right for takeout only. It's a cash only business, by the way... There was a young girl who was quiet. She didn't acknowledge with eye contact nor greet me. It was awkward. Later, another worker came out from the back to take my order... she was quick and efficient! I got a Hamburger Steak plate with noodles (instead of rice) - it comes with macaroni salad, three shrimp tempura, and three cone sushi (local style inari). At my aunty's house, my cousin and aunty liked the Mac salad a lot. They also enjoyed the Hamburger Steak, noodles, cone sushi, and shrimp tempura. I thought that the noodles had a bit too much liquid on them. The noodles and Hamburger were on the salty side. The Hamburger was tender and fell apart easily. The shrimp tempura was okay. The cone sushi was the best item out of everything. I would return for my aunty and cousin. I'd try the garlic shrimp plate next.

Can't say enough great things about this place called to place a phone order. The food is delicious plenty flavor everything was cooked perfectly the bentos are the star of the show for me here was a 10/10 would highly recommended this place is a gem clean, fast friendly

Very local okazuya. The prices are reasonable and it's in a small shopping area in Waipahu. Plenty of parking. No lines at the end of the day! The cashier was so sweet and friendly. I appreciate that they didn't package the food up in plastic since it was a small snack. The sushi was much better than I expected! So for the price, it is 5 stars. I will have to visit again and try their other foods next time I'm in the area.

I ordered from here when my daughter came with me to work one day. I didn't really try the place before they had Sato's so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I thought it was a pretty good deal. We got a good sized bento with a lot of delicious fixings for a good price. Most times in bentos there's an lot of things that I don't like. But just like any okazuya, just make sure that you order early. I think I placed my order pretty much as soon as they opened so they wouldn't run out. When I went to pick it up, it was nice because they have a big parking lot. I didn't have a hard time finding the place and when I entered they were quick to find and get my order. We will definitely have to come back here again

Pretty good. Some strange taste on some of the chow funn though. Kinda salty.

Ordered online via GrubHub & they definitely followed my order directions accurately which is awesome. The chow funn had some weird taste on some parts of it. The pork chop had good taste, is juicy, tad bit salty but still edible. The hash & hburger were both good. The boneless chicken is good as well. Prices are decent. Will definitely come back. Service was fast, friendly & efficient !

Fast & efficient service from friendly employees. Clean restaurant, simple menu. Cone sushi has just the right amount of sweet to it. Hamburger is soft & tasty. No complaints on the hash. Open until 1:00 unless they run out before then. Ample parking!

Hamburger steak plate w/noodles & mac salad $15...

We got there kinda late so the okazuya stuff was gone so got a hamburger steak plate with noodles. Wow the plate was packed took me 3 days to finish it, was really good.

This place gets pretty busy (the parking lot is chaotic by the marketplace) so patience is a virtue when coming here. The shop itself is also very cozy, maybe 2-5 people can fit inside at one time. When we got there (right after the lunch rush I suppose), only 1 bento was left, so we grabbed it. We also got a plate with hamburger steak and all noodles, no rice. The hamburger steak was drenched in gravy, with a good hearty serving of noodles. It served as 2 meals for me. It looks like the kids are running the front and the adults are cooking in the back. Not a bad thing, just noticing that the kids were not great at communicating what was available, so the adults had to step in. All in all, homestyle fried noodles for the win!

Are they still in business and if so are the hours legit?

So was this place taken over by an employee of Sato's? I remember Mr. Sato doing the cooking in the back so hopefully they got some experience working in the presence of the master. Or at least the same wok etc!

Aloha. The place was taken over by long time Waipahu family that lived blocks away from Satos for generations ... the recent Sato family owners and head cook personally taught the new owners and trained them and passed down all of their Okazuya…

However, with the recent price change and the shift from all-you-can-eat to à la carte, my husband and I will most likely reconsider dining on the Yakiniku side. The Yakiniku experience is great for large family dinners and gatherings, but with the current pricing, it can become quite expensive, especially when ordering enough food for a larger group. We still love the restaurant and will definitely continue enjoying Shabu-Shabu, but the new Yakiniku pricing may make it harder for us to visit as regularly as we used to.

It comes with the beef and a couple pieces of shrimp tempura. The two ontama eggs were additional toppings. Let's start with the beef. The beef is similar to eating the beef in sukiyaki. The beef is shredded thin so that you can taste the marinade. They also give you a good portion of beef. It's not filled with rice and a thin layer of meat on top. Quite the opposite. More meat than rice. The shrimp tempura is good. It's not like the shrimp tempura that you would find in a good Japanese restaurant with tentsuyu dipping sauce. It's as good or better than the shrimp tempura you can buy at Marukai or Don Quijote. It comes with the beef sukiyaki drizzle? It's good. The ontama eggs are perfect. Nice and runny when you break the yolk. It just pairs so well with the beef sauce. So yummy. Yelp deleted couple of my photos. I really hate that you can't share all the photos you took with my fellow yelpers. You take the time to review and take photos that I feel should be uploaded. One photo was for a 10% discount for students, military and senior citizens. With the cost of food nowadays, it's good to know that there are restaurants like this one out there willing to give discounts to those who could use it. I appreciate it very much and it needed to be included in my review. The other was for a stamp card. Make 10 purchases of either the rice bowl, curry or udon and get a $5 discount card. This discount helps those who aren't students, military or senior citizens. Thank you for the discounts. We all appreciate them. Tatsuo who was working behind the counter was very friendly and personable. I'm pretty sure he's from Japan because of his accent. The way he treated me felt like he was the owner and very accommodating. I didn't have to go up to get my food. He brought it to me. Very good service. Oh my wife had the shrimp tempura udon. I can't tell you how good it was as i couldn't get to taste it. Sigh. My wife ate it all. I guess it must have been really good. No free samples. Lol. The place was pretty empty so it was quiet when we were there. Couple guys came in to take out. I'm guessing they have more take out than dine In. If you like sukiyaki and shrimp tempura, please give them a try. If you have similar taste buds to mine, you will really enjoy the meal there. Oh and when you go, say hi to Tatsuo.
