I lovvvved it here. My husband and I got the butterfish bento, chicken oyako-don, spam musubi, and ahi inari. If you read the bentos carefully, there is a sticker on some that says multigrain rice. It's the purple rice. Nothing was too heavy and I felt like every dish was very balanced. The chicken oyako don was flavorful and the perfect balance of rice to meat. The miso butterfish was slightly salty but it was excellent. Fish was very tender. The spam musubi was marinated perfectly to me. At first I thought maybe there was too much rice but it was actually PERFECT. Lastly the inari didn't have much meat to it but somehow it was incredibly balanced. They were incredibly prompt in confirming both of my online orders, even though they were placed just one day in advance. When we arrived for pickup, everything was ready right on time. Friday July 3, 2026 I was in Kapolei around lunch time. Plenty parking. I went in to grab lunch from here. The Salmon Dynamite Bento and a Salmon Wakame Musubi. Service is fast. As always it looks good and it tastes good too. Ambiance is casual and comfortable in here. Only a few seats and tables that seats like 6 people that's if you decide to eat inside here. Mamaya Kapolei located along Farrington Hwy in the Kapolei Shopping Center next to Safeway. Nice selection of "Bentos ", Donburi's, Salads, and Sushi. My personal favorite is their Oyaku Donburi. Tender chunks of chicken, cooked with Mushrooms, Bamboo Shoots, Onions, and Eggs cooked in a sweet and savory sauce over white or multi grain rice. Very reasonably priced and you get a bottle of water for each Bento purchased. Servers are very quick and efficient. Take out or delivery only. I love this grab-n-go bento place in Kapolei. Everything is pre-made so you can browse everything they have out and pick something up really quickly. I think you could technically order something off of their menu to be prepared, but I always find something that's already out. From sushi handrolls and inari bombs to chicken katsu curry and bentos with fried chicken, fish, teriyaki meat and spam. Also, every bento comes with a free bottle of water! Mamaya specializes in Japanese bentos, bites, and comfort foods that obaa-chan cooked. I really liked the choices at Mamaya Kapolei. I dropped by after a morning of appointments in the area. I picked up the Miso Butterfish Mixed Bento, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Musubi Mini Pack to go and share with my sister. All were delicious, but I particularly loved the Katsu Curry and price was just north of $10. The Salmon Bento and Loco Moco might be yummy next! In the end, I highly recommend Mamaya Kapolei, for take-out bentos and Japanese comfort foods. I would guess the location in Aiea and in downtown Honolulu would offer similar?! I just finished eating a bento that my sister brought over for me, and it was delicious. I had never heard of Mamaya, since they're located in Kapolei, and I'm in Kailua, but my sister was going to come over from the Ewa side and offered to bring lunch. I chose the miso butterfish bento, and was surprised that it also included some oden (stewed vegetables), sekihan (red bean rice), pickled ginger, fried chicken, and tamago (egg). The taste really reminded me of my mom's cooking. I was also surprised that it came with (or my sister added) a serving of sesame fried eggplant. Mamaya Kapolei is my favorite place to get bentos. They are a takeout-only establishment located in the Kapolei Shopping Center and there is ample parking in the lot. It's very easy to grab & go if you are in a hurry during lunch hour. Their lunch offerings are wide. They have a lot of bentos but they also have musubi, sushi, donburi & katsu curry bowls available. In terms of bentos though, I recommend the butterfish or the mochiko chicken. Both are delicious with the multi-grain rice. There is something for everyone! They do a stamp card. For every 10 stamps you get one item free on your next visit. Bentos are between $7-15 depending on the size. Recommend going no later than 1pm, it is a grab and go Japanese style spot so don't cry and throw 1 star reviews if all the good stuff is gone after lunch, it's your fault dawg. Prices are always a deal, it does add up if you're like me and grab with your stomach instead of your budget. My personal favorites are : Tofu Eggplant w/multigrain rice bowls, salmon dynamite w/multigrain rice bento, calamari and their katsu curry bowls. Went to the one in Pearl city before but were pleasantly surprised to discover there is one in Kapolei which was much closer to where we were staying! These bentos were perfect to pick up for a beach day, pool day or even on the way to the airport. The quality is so good and great value! I would be happy if I got this exact bento at a sit down restaurant. They kindly give you a bottle of water with each bento purchase making it a one stop shop for a complete meal! There's this person in our office who loves eating here. She goes to pick up and brings back to eat at her desk. So one day, she extended this offer to our office section. Not knowing what to order, we all just took a chance. What did we think? Well, the really funny thing is whatever we ordered that first time has been the same exact thing we have ordered ever since. Isn't that just so amazing? Hahaha :D One of us likes to order the calamari with three multigrain musubis and the rest of us usually order the butterfish with multigrain rice. The butterfish is so delectable!! Sometimes my work friend orders the chicken bento. What makes these bentos fun to eat for me is not just the flavor and taste but bc of the added yummy tsukemono and food items. For instance, we get a piece of fried chicken, tamago egg (tamagoyaki aka Japanese egg omelette), variety of tsukemono that come with our butterfish bento. And most importantly, all taste really great! If you want a substantial meal with a variety of tastes and you happen to be in the older Kapolei area (by the Kapolei Zippy's and Consolidated Theaters down the long street from Costco Kapolei), this is a great place for a satisfying meal. It was my first time at this location. I usually go to the one across the street from Pearlridge. Actually, I haven't been to that one in a while also. I remembered that they had everything out sitting in warmers and that I could put whatever I wanted in a box to make my own bento. I was expecting that at this location. However, everything was already prepackaged. I decided on the kalbi and bbq chicken combo bento. It also had white rice, corn and choy sum. It was $11.49 and came with a bottle of water. The whole bento was delicious. Both the chicken and kalbi had great marinade. I needed the sauce for the rice. The cashier was really sweet. She asked if we had military ID for a discount. We went again this week to pick up our order of Shoyu pork bowls for dinner. When compared with last week ones, these are a lot moister bigger pieces and more shoyu (soya) sauce on the rice. Still taste excellent and bacon meat was used, it melts in your mouth. If you don't like fatty cuts of meat...you won't enjoy this bowl. I didn't forget to take a picture this time:-) read more

They also have some third party onigiri available on the side. Service is fast and they have a small indoor seating area if you can't wait to dig in. Parking right out front in the mall lot. If you have questions about what is in the food, they will happily let you know. They offer affordable lunches and most people are able to find something they enjoy, so it's a great place for easy and successful office lunch parties. My go to is the $8 chicken katsu donburi with multigrain rice, which is something I would definitely never put the effort into making myself. It's great that it's usually available for pick up so I don't even have to wait when it's already sitting out, and it is tasty enough that it doesn't matter that it's not perfectly hot or crispy. Amazing spot to grab some bentos and head out, You can eat there also, but they only have a few tables available though. The salmon dynamite bento is my go to! The prices is very reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. They close at 3pm and that's the only thing I don't like. Wish they closed a little later like 5 or 6pm that would be great, a often rush to get there before 3pm to get bentos for dinner, most times I make it but there has been a few time a missed it but 5-10 minutes.
