    Steamed Broccoli
    Shara R.

Our first time visiting Hasu and we will definitely be back! The owner/chef came out to talk to us and recommended different things on the menu. We had the steamed broccoli, Japanese Curry, and Yakiniku Donburi and all were amazing. Not many people in when we first got there but it filled up with several people by the time we were finished. They did a great job with the inside of the building and it was quiet and easy to talk. Very happy with this spot and am looking forward to going back and trying the sushi.

Japanese Cowboy roll, Rainbow roll, Spider roll, Marc's roll, and Spicy salmon roll

Loved the fresh sushi rolls. Everything was delicious, rolls had generous amounts of fish and vegetables. We enjoyed the Japanese Cowboy roll, Marc's Roll, Spider roll, Spicy salmon and the Rainbow roll . Loved the Japanese pickles, and agadashi tofu too. Nice Japanese vibe, I was pleasantly surprised with the updated decor! Friendly attentive staff, the executive chef came out and talked to us, looking for genuine feedback. Very refreshing! Oh and a bonus Dulce leche cake for dessert, yum!

Front, with the jalapeños is the Japanese Cowboy roll, right behind that is the rainbow roll

I never thought I'd find a restaurant in Hastings with a Japanese vibe, but Hasu has surprised me with their execution of the concept. The waitstaff were all super friendly, and helpful. They pointed out which rolls we had on our platter and were very respectful. If you love fish the Marc's roll is for you, melts in your mouth; good overall flavor, warm and the slight crispy outer edge is to die for, light flavor not too fishy despite being fish heavy. Cowboy roll was also a fan favorite of our party, the meat is so soft and tender. The asparagus pairs really well with the roll and I don't like asparagus, but this roll is the bomb, literally the light kick from the jalapeño really ties the whole roll together. The fish in the spicy salmon tasted so fresh, a good starter roll if you're feeling overwhelmed, love the incorporation of the lettuce to add additional crunch to a classic favorite. I personally love veggies in my sushi so the spider roll was for me, it's got cucumber, sprouts, lettuce and gobo, as well as soft shelled crab, good flavor, good crunch. I loved the sprouts in this roll, I rarely see that and would say it was a good culinary choice! A rainbow roll is another classics favorite. A pretty traditional rainbow roll with generous amounts of fish. This roll has the ideal ratio of fresh fish.

california roll and salmon roll -1

As someone who has been to Japan, this place has a very authentic vibe in the way it is decorated. It's a beautiful moody design with a cute sushi bar. Service was quick and attentive! Food was so good I had to eat a roll before I could even take a pic, so 1 salmon roll is missing in my photo, but its very tasty. We had the hotpot as well which was DELICIOUS! It makes sense why the ratings are so high, this is a wonderful spot with great food!

The service was appropriately lowkey and prompt. Their food might seem a bit expensive, but their portions are generous. This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.

For breakfast, I ordered two slices of their cinnamon French toast, served with two eggs and bacon. To drink, I treated myself to a delicious, beautifully layered tiramisu latte. Another thing I absolutely love is their grab-and-go bakery case. It is so rare and refreshing to see so many clearly labeled GF treats, like their Lemon Bars and Almond Cheesecake. We couldn't resist taking some goodies to go, so we went home with a lemon bar and one of their GF Fruity Pebbles bars. If you're looking for a delicious, incredibly gluten-free friendly brunch spot with a great atmosphere, you have to check this place out!

Overall, great service, quick meal and really delicious food.

They have old 80s wrestling playing on the televisions, which took me back to my childhood. The place is full of retro video games, pinball machines, skeeball, and there are a couple of video game consoles. The place has very nice, attentive bar staff. They serve some 80s-themed signature cocktails, such as the TMN Tea, Mike Tyson's Drunk Out, Macha Man Randy Savage and the People's Margarita, and have a huge assortment of tap beer. I tried both and they were really good. The cocktails are stiff and savory. Be careful when ordering some beer, though; some of them are THC-infused. Drinking those may get you in trouble at certain jobs. I got the Princess Peach Punch and Raspberry Cider tap beer. The place has a mixed crowd, age-wise. There were 21-year-olds to 60-year-olds. It was a pretty low-key spot that has specials every night. They have limited food options that feature pizza. There weren't many people there while I was there, but it was still a really fun place. I enjoyed my time there. I recommend checking this spot out.

We got a bucket of rocks to toss at the wall filled with lots of metal objects, a chime, some Tonka trucks. They also had a fun crane that you can pickup blocks and try to stack them up or build something. The venue is an old Hastings building that has a ton of character. The Tap Wall has a good variety of beers and ciders. They change them up weekly. The costs per/ounce seems reasonable. They have the types of beverage broken down by type (IPA/Dark...) which is helpful. The cost/ounce varies depending on what you are getting. We tried several different menu items and all were good - the three different kinds of cheese curds along with the wide variety of wings (both bone in and boneless). They also have a lot of great sauces to add to your wings or curds. I also tried the Caprese flat bread, yum. We also tried a couple of the specialty cocktails, I really like the Honey Jalapeno Marg! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

The $1 a bucket was totally a great deal and simple enough without dropping major money on something so novel, but also really great. The service was a bit to be desired as despite multiple bartenders (and not many people) it took a while to get drinks or service, but the quality was great of the drinks.
