    Broiled haddock
    Laura M.

I ordered food to go from here for the first time last week. When I ordered the woman told me that the food would be ready in about 15 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and the food was not ready. I paid for my order and waited another 5 to 7 minutes or so before the food was ready. Inside, it feels like a cross between a restaurant and fish monger - with fresh fish, live lobsters, and all the sauces (from malt vinegar to tartar sauce), along with desserts (case was empty when I was there). There's also a good amount of seating. I ordered fish and chips, which happened to be one of the daily specials along with broiled haddock. For the broiled options, you can have french fries or rice I opted for rice and coleslaw. The fish and chips/fried fish came with much larger fish portions, but the portion of broiled fish was plenty. The rice was good, as was the coleslaw. Overall, my meal was good, not overly special. If I'm comparing it to other local restaurants that are similar - I think Wood's seafood in Plymouth is way better (and same concept selling fresh fish, and preparing food).

Our $50 lunch was a bit of a disappointment, consisting mostly of French fries, The fryers in the clam roll were tasty, but scant with no tartar sauce or cole slaw provided. I happen to know a thing or two about the seafood industry and asked in advance if there was Tri-polyphosphate in the scallops. I was told they were dry. Whatever they were, thesee scallops had ZERO flavor, and again no tartar sauce or cole slaw to complement the dish. BUT we have lots of fries and ketchup left over! Most of all, very disappointed in the scallops. I have ordered them from here before and they were delicious. Consistency is key in food service. Now I cant help but wonder if they are serving sub-par quality seafood for their daily specials to avoid the hit on their profit margin.

I feel like this place is living off of reputation. Had a bad experience here recently. The wait time for food was ridiculous. 45 minutes for our food when there was nobody in the restaurant. Got a lobster casserole and a clam roll. The lobster casserole had barely any lobster in it, and the clam roll was average at best. The prices were too high for what I got as well. This place is a one and done for me.

    Lobster roll

We ordered fish & chips, clam chowder and lobster roll. Lobster roll was full of lobster meat and delicious! Staff were friendly and we enjoyed early dinner at the place.

We had a late lunch at Rock Bottom on a weekday afternoon. We shared a cup of clam chowder, a lobster roll, and fish and chips. Everything was absolutely delicious. The clam chowder was one of the best that we had in the area - thick, creamy, and filled with clams. The fish was just lightly breaded and fried. Fresh and delicious. I'm still thinking about that lobster roll - really, really tasty. Cole slaw was good - nice vinegar base. Big portions-we actually had more fries than we could eat, which never happens. Service was friendly and helpful. We sat inside and enjoyed it. Parking was ample and easy. Highly recommend.

I was craving Seafood tonight, I have not been there since the new Ownership happened, everything was fresh and delicious, started with a big plate of Steamers....delicious as always, Main Dish was Lazy Man Lobster with Fries and Coleslaw, that was delicious too, everything was so good, definitely going back there again to try something new

Fresh lobster here are tender, sweet, and succulent. Freshly caught and cooked lobster here

Lobster roll (L), fried clams (mostly eaten already), lobsters, clam chowder

While visiting the Cape in August, we thought this was the best place we ate at for fresh seafood. We were staying near Falmouth but took a day trip to Plymouth. The fried clams had more clammy flavor than at the Lobster Trap. My sons both wanted lobsters which are sold live in the seafood market portion of this place. There are a few tables to eat at inside and it is ultra casual with paper plates, etc. There is no nice view, but we thought the food was better here and were super relaxed.

The new ownership, chef, and staff are wonderful. The new entrees are creative. It would be great to add more "non fried" foods.

Not what it was. Just give us straight ahead NE seafood and would be better off. Got food to go. Indoor seating is limited.

After having a delicious broiled scallop plate here I bought some haddock to take home to cook on the grill.

Market Basket provides value compared to the other large grocery chains. This not only includes private label products but also branded products. One (1), can of same exact soup is $4.79 at Stop & Shop...what???? Two, the service. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Also, they always have a decent amount of checkout cashiers, so even on the busy days, the lines are not too bad. Three, the cafe. The cafe has very good takeout food and offers an excellent variety. The pizza is solid. I hear people raving about the steak bombs, but I have not tried one yet. Four, the location. This location is just past the Sagamore bridge as you head east over the canal. It's easy to get to and then get back on the mid-cape highway. The only real negative is that it is generally pretty crowded (for the reasons I mentioned above, I am sure). The store aisles are a bit tight, so it can get pretty hectic in there. However, the pros far outweigh this one con.

The lobster bisque was disappointing and quite bland, especially given the hype. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and it barely had any clams in it and was also very bland. I ordered a lobster roll and a separate order of onion rings as well. The lobster roll was just okay , the lobster itself was cooked well, but there wasn't a lot of meat for the price, so it didn't feel like a great value. The onion rings were fine but nothing special. The setup is more of a quick-service style: you order at the counter, get a buzzer, sit down, and then go pick up your food when it's ready. It's convenient enough if you're looking for something fast and casual, but between the bland bisque and chowder and the average lobster roll, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. I probably wouldn't stop here next time.
