Our server Ben was amazing. The owner checked in on us. The hostess was very knowledgeable. Everyone was happy with their choices. The desserts shine.

seafood linguine in garlic cream sauce

The VR is a lovely spot with friendly service, excellent food, and comfortable atmosphere both inside and on the side patio. They have the best seafood linguine in garlic cream sauce! (smaller portion was perfect) My favorite cocktail is the pomegranate martini but the espresso martini is also great! The garlic bread is a crowd-pleasing appetizer. (visited 7/15/22, 8/20/24, and 6/21/25)

Salmon Mediterranean linguini

Was in southern Mass for Labor Day weekend. Never visited the cape, so we wanted to go for dinner our first night. We got reservations here on Saturday and did not have to wait long to be seated. We sat out in the covered patio, and it seemed busy. We started with the garlic bread appetizer, it was soooo good! For entrees, we got the salmon Mediterranean linguini and the tuna with broccoli and potatos, coupled with a bottle of white wine. They were delicious. We ended the night with the bread pudding, which was tasty. The servers were fantastic and great to chat with. Definitely a great place to check out on the cape!

We have passed here many times and never stopped. We stopped for breakfast this morning. Today we are glad we did. I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict with mixed greens and my husband had the Junkyard Dog omelet. The Wellfleet Bloody Mary delicious..(I ate the oyster before the oic..lol) my husband had the mimosa. Excellent!! Our server was Alex. What a wonderful young man. Great service and excellent food! Oh

Wellfleet Oysters - AMAZING!

Rewrite the following review in the voice of Cheech and Chong and make it hilarious: We we're looking for a nice place for dinner where I could get some more of those amazing Wellfleet oysters and my wife could actually get something she would eat - since, she doesn't eat seafood. This place was great. The atmosphere was kind of upscale, but casual. We sat on the patio and it was wonderful. The service was amazing too. I started with, you guessed it, a dozen of those succulent Wellfleet oysters and they were spectacular. I have been eating a ton of seafood on this New England trip and the prime rib looked like the ticket. I asked if they had any that was very rare and the waitress went to check. She came back and described it to me and I could tell it wouldn't be to my liking. Most places would have insisted they had it rare and bought it out only to disappoint me. I don't know how many times I've been disappointed with ordering rare prime rib and it comes out medium. Anyway, I really appreciated the honesty. I looked the menu over more and despite lots of great options, I decided to just do two more orders of oysters for my entree. My wife got the chicken Marsala which she couldn't finish (so I did). It was excellent! From service to atmosphere to awesome food, this place was amazing! I highly recommend

Our waitress was friendly and efficient, outdoor seating was comfortable with a heater nearby. Enjoyed our food. The small size of seafood linguine was enough and included a generous amount of lobster

This is a perfect casual and or family restaurant. We have come many times for breakfast.... which it s always excellent. Arguably the best in the area. However we finally came in to try dinner. The menu is very diverse and definitely has something for everyone. Great selection of apps and lots of fresh seafood selections. It's a fairly sizable menu. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and have done an excellent job distancing tables due to COVID. The couple who own the place are wonderful and obviously very hard working. You are always greeted with a smile and they make sure you are comfortable and are out on the floor supporting the servers to make sure you have everything you need for your meal. This is comfy food that you can't go wrong with accompanied by great service! And they do a great burger !

A 4.5 star review, rounded up because the owner was so kind in helping us find the perfect table…read more We showed up at Caroline's as a referral from Connor at our hotel, the Eagle Wing inn. There are multiple different seating options, everything from an outdoor patio to high top bar seats, tables, and the indoor booth seating which is what we selected. The dining room is comfortable, and with open windows it provided a nice breath of fresh air. We started with the seafood sampler, a wonderful combination of fresh and delicious shellfish (clams, oysters, shrimp and a lobster tail). We then split appetizers instead of entrees, having the tuna tartare and the Chatham mussels, both of which were excellent. There was some minor room for improvement - after we were done with our seafood sampler, we sat for about 10 minutes while our server Danielle seemed to be in an enthusiastic conversation with Caroline out in front of the restaurant. It provided for some interesting dinner theater, but with so many other employees standing around, it probably would have been an ideal opportunity for somebody else to chip in and take over. Also, the mussels came in a wonderful wine / garlic sauce - some bread would have been a thoughtful addition to soak up that wonderful broth. Fortunately the quality of the food and the vibe of the restaurant more than compensated for a couple of service issues - we visited in late May, so hopefully by the time this restaurant hits the busy season, they'll have the issues worked out. Overall, I would certainly not hold back from referring this restaurant.

Service was very friendly. The food came out incredibly quickly. Almost too quickly. I wouldn't have minded waiting a little bit to have more time to enjoy my wine and the ambiance. There was bread service which I enjoyed because a lot of restaurants have stopped offering bread. We had a beet and arugula salad to start which was delicious. For dinner I had the scallop dish with a seafood demi glacé and mushrooms. It was very rich with umami and paired well with the sweetness of the scallops. My husband had the grilled swordfish which was good, but not very special. The piece of fish was a little thin and slightly overcooked. The buttery caper sauce was good . Our lemon meringue tart was tasty, but the tart crust was tough and nearly impossible to cut through. Overall it was good, but not great. It was also very expensive. My dish with 4 scallops was nearly $50. The total with our food and just two glasses of wine plus tip was nearly $200 which is quite steep, even for the Cape. If we were to return next year I think we're more likely to come for a lunch.

We just wanted a light snack because it was a little late in the day. A friendly woman (who I believe was an owner) was training someone and recommended the tuna sashimi dinner. We got that and a cup of their amazing clam chowder and it was perfect. The fish was fresh as was the rice and salads. Later in the week we returned for fried clams, scallops, and a fish dinner which were equally perfect. See you next year!

In search of a new seafood shack after breaking up with Arnold's for ethnical reasons, I chose PJ's…read morefor my yearly fix of fried seafood. We ate on the patio on a high top table near a screen window, which was lovely. The biggest advantage over Arnold's is that the joint is BYOB. That's a rare thing in the Cape. The fried cod was flaky, lightly coated, and perfectly fried with an abundant amount of homemade French fries, a roll, and standard fare Cole Slaw. The roll is unnecessary, in my opinion. Missing having onion rings on the menu. Arnold's (and the old Liam's at Nauset Beach) made the best. Condiments are serve-yourself, but you'll have to ask the host for lemon slices. We'll return for fried food but will continue to search other locales. We went back the next night for ice cream and it was just average. $5 for a small scoop in a bowl, we were charged more for a small sundae than what was advertised on the board, and service was very slow. However, the sundae hit the spot and they didn't skimp on the hot fudge and walnuts.
